Ultimate Pet Websites Took My $1149 but NEVER Delivered A Site

Thank you for the opportunity to address your concerns. I would like to take a moment and address a few of your concerns.
As you know, we have worked diligently on your website, and to date (eight weeks from the date of your purchase), have created no less than four sites for you.

As you know, our policy is to create for a website that you are satisfied with, no matter how many changes to layouts it takes. We have done that, and in your case many times. As a business, we cannot however design several sites (one of which based on your Word document) and refund the fee for the website as well.
As for not hearing from an owner, we are a corporation, and while small, we do not have one central person that would be ignoring you in any way. I would appreciate if you could let me know who you were attempting to reach.
As stated, we will devote any and all resources and time to making your website exactly what you desire it to be, but as with any creative process, we depend on you to guide us in a direction you are happy with.

Professional response. A refund sounds out of the question, and they have produced something. Maybe you two can get together and get the job done.

Ultimate Pet Websites Took My $1149 but NEVER Delivered A Site

You are welcome for the opportunity to address the concern but lets stay with the facts, shall we...

After weeks of attempting to get any response to just the “status” of my site, and I was only told “we are working on it”. I then requested a refund. I was denied. Then, finally Jennifer “threw” something up. The product she sent me an absolute joke, there was nothing professional about it. Thankfully, I took the liberty of screen printing it, anyone that would like to view it is welcomed to. At this time, I then gave her more “direction” since I was adamantly told I would NOT receive a refund. The second site was even more horrific. The color schema didn’t even match! From this point, I push harder for a refund, which is when I am referred to you…Jared….and the nightmare continues. I explained all of my frustration and disappointment with the lack on competence of your so call designers, yet you very calmly say “we don’t offer any refunds” – I asked you if you are sure this was the path you wanted to proceed with me and you – very scripted – stated “we don’t offer any refunds”. At this time I told you, I will post a complaint with the BBB and every complaint board I can find and true to form you responded again with “we don’t offer any refunds but that you would assign a new “designer” to my account”. I went thru a lot of detail of what I was looking for and you stated you would have the designer get started on it as a high priority. I received an email from Luke stating that he was on it and would have something to me at the beginning of the following week. That date came and went. Luke finally contacts me weeks later with his attempt and AGAIN it is nothing of what I verbally conveyed. You, Jared, then state that “lots of people would like this” and I again state this is not what we discussed and I am not one of those people "that would like it". I again request a refund and was denied with the scripted answer “we don’t offer any refunds”. I finally send you a Word doc with essentially designing the site myself, as to what I am looking for. You then basically Copied/Pasted it. I contacted you and asked “so did I just pay you $1149 to design my own site?” and you replied that there was a little more involved with the formatting from Word to site. You, Jared, then avoid giving me any timeline again when you beginning doing something “creative” to it but finally agree to the Thurs/Fri of this week. Yesterday late morning I checked the site and NOTHING AGAIN has been done, so I send you ANOTHER email, all day goes by and last night you changed the buttons, that’s it, nothing more, nothing less. You basically take 2 weeks to spend 10 minutes working on my site. Then this morning I checked it again hoping that maybe you worked late and actually did SOMETHING that would show an attempt to get the site DONE! But no….we are probably MONTHS OR YEARS from you ever getting this done and frankly, I am sick and tired of asking for you to WORK on it! In short, you guys make all the promises but when it comes to to deliver on the promise, you avoid and give excuse after excuse. I came to realize that the reason you don’t give a refund is because you know we eventually give up and move on with a company that not only has the skills but the ethics to deliver.

So this morning, I begin to wonder how many other people out there have reported an issue with you and I come across this post –
**Short version – former employee of yours and this one statement PROVES my claim that you are scamming people: All this company cares about is getting money at any cost and for us (the employees) to lie to our clients constantly just to make them happy and to avoid giving them a refund.

I am a former employee of this company (the company goes by many names). I had been working here for about a year and i left on my own term and took the proper route by giving my two weeks notice.

I signed up for this job as a CSS/HTML expert and was told i was going to have to work around Joomla!. This wasn't a big deal for me but little did i know how this company operated. I've been a web designer for about 10 years now. All this company cares about is getting money at any cost and for us (the employees) to lie to our clients constantly just to make them happy and to avoid giving them a refund.

The issue were there are only about 5-6 designers, we're given over 30 websites at any given time, while the sales team promises the client that the site will be complete in 4-6 weeks. This is obviously impossible when you are the only one working on the sites assigned to you with the option of a freelancer doing some grunt work for you. The sales team will promise the client the sites will be unique but they are pre-made designs from yootheme.com or rockettheme.com with a few modifications.

Considering this company tries to act so active with pet adoptions, it's quite odd that they would actually accept pet stores that sell dogs or sites that sell numerous different breeds as clients. If you're knowledge about puppy mills, you'll know these clients are supporting them by purchasing their dogs from puppy mills. The owner and sales team knowingly made us continue work on these sites.

As for the designers, even though they may be nice people, quite a few of them knew nothing about web design or design in general. The entire time i was there, there was only one other female that was actually a web designer, the other 5 people i worked with knew nothing about web design.

The last aspect is they promise ongoing SEO. Please don't be fooled by this if you're looking to hire them. They practice BlackHat SEO, which can get your banned on Google. You can take a look at their site for a good example. They don't do any type of link building. I know all this cause i was also supposed to do SEO for them but then gave up on it cause in the end they really wanted someone to continue to lie to the client on the phone and just tell them everything is going well, which isn't something i'm willing to do. We gave them no reports or any way for them to see any difference in the search engines.

The truth must really hurt, huh?

I deliver on my promises and if you choose not to refund my money than I will continue to file complaints with the BBB and every complaint board I can post my story onto – I may have been scammed but if I can stop even 1 other person from having to deal with you, then it is $1149 WELL SPENT!
