I agree! I called Tony and Chet's STRONG call-to-action for a FREE program on the radio and it was clear in a short amount of time it was a sales pitch! But not your typical pitch, it just seemed slippery and slimy. I stop the process and told them to forget it and hung up the phone on them. If Chet Holmes is such a marketing genius then why does he rely on trickery and low integrity marketing tactics. Does he not know the consumer is smart and does not want to be "sold", rather they want to do research and "buy". We consumers want to know, like and trust the brand before we pull our wallets out to make a purchase. They did a great job getting us to "know" them but was dead on arrival on "Trust" or "like". Tony Robbins makes a used car salesmen look like an IBM executive.

To all members of the Complaints Board: An open letter from Chet Holmes

Dear Customer,

The vast majority of the complaints here are from people who didn’t get our free reports which are advertised widely on the radio. The common complaint is that because you didn’t receive your reports we are accused of running a bait and switch operation.

Remember, you called and left a message from your cell phone. If the signal was interrupted then we missed a digit, a letter or misunderstood your email address, you’re not going to get your free report. We send thousands of messages a day to prospects and clients and not all of those are delivered, we know that. Yet we strive to get every one correct, sometimes calling back to make sure we have your email address correct. But sometimes that’s not enough.

When you call and speak to a live representative, they are trained to type in your email address and get those free reports sent out immediately.

Our reports are awesome; we WANT you to get them. We WANT you to get our free training program. If you do, you will want more. There’s no incentive for us NOT to send them. Our entire operation is built on giving away our fantastic information so you want to learn even more.

I'm a businessman, an entrepreneur. For me, "success" is a series of failures...you do it wrong until you get it right. I'm motivated by a need for achievement and I cite Thomas A. Edison as my definition of success. He exemplifies "success". How many of us would fail over a thousand times looking for just the right light bulb filament and persevere, failure after failure? Most stop trying after just two or three failures. Some don't even try for fear of failure! Are you paralyzed by fear of failure??

It's clear to me that you "complainers" aren't what you purport to be. You certainly don't sound like achievers. Like you, I phoned for the free report and when I didn't get it I simply called back. I got my report and it was expertly presented, my first taste of who Chet Holmes is. Still, anyone can hire writers to get a good looking article written. So, doing my due diligence, I followed up by buying Chet's book, "The Ultimate Sales Machine", theorizing that, at seven bucks, it was certainly cheaper than his "training program" and I could see what Chet's all about. During they Amazon buy process I waded through "complaints about Chet's book. One "reviewer" complained the book contents are things we should already know. Another though the seven dollar price was "too much" for a "small" book. I didn't take the nonsensical complaints seriously and gambled a whole seven dollars. Frankly, for me, the "small" size of the book was a plus. before buying software I check the manual size. If it's 700 pages I don't buy...I want to use the software, not become an expert IT guy!

I was determined to read EVERY word of "The Ultimate Sales Machine" . By the time I read the "Preface' I was convinced this book is the most important I've read...since...since.. I don't know when! Chet describes his determination to learn Karate as a teen. He went from bad to most excellent and used the experience as an analogy to what we all can do to achieve our goals. If I closed the book and read no further my return on investment for this book was already realized just reading Preface. Chet also shares a touching dedication to his wife. I KNOW every woman would like to have a man in her life say those thoughts to her once in her life. Needless to say I'm hooked on the book and I'm still on the first chapter. We wish we could write as effectively as Chet Holmes.

My suggestion to other readers is that they buy the book, read it (cover-to-cover) and then decide their next step. I certainly would not let some agenda-driven whiner stop me from perusing the opportunity before me. Read the cheap book and you decide using your own judgment. If you don't see a training seminar in your future I don't think Chet Holmes will starve to death. In fact, If I'm any judge of character he'll be gratified hearing form you with feedback on how you've benefited from his unique perspective. To reject the available training based on hyped fear is just short-changing yourself.


As for me, I'd take the training a heartbeat if I had the opportunity...even before reading the entire book.
