Fraud and Lies

I have the same experience. Was told prices were $75 per day or $299 per week at this resort and have never been quoted that price. Was also told availability is excellent due to the constant building, also not true as we haven't been in the 3 years we have "owned" because its never available. Salesman Rod told us as long as you were willing to stay in a house other then the one you purchased, you wouldn't have to pay the maintenance fees. After receiving a bill for maintenance fees, I called and was told that wasn't the case and would have to pay the fees. If I own the house for one week every third year and maintenance fees are $400, how much money are they making on just maintenance fees. $400 a week is $20, 800 a year per house. I am also seeking legal action against Summer Winds. Any information a Class Action case would be appreciated.

Fraud and Lies

Same thing happened to us. We spent 7 hours with them asking very specifc questions over and over again because it did sound too good to be true. They blatently lied to our faces about several things, including the $299 vacations "anywhere in the world" and maintenance fees. We were told those were optional, which after purchasing, we discovered were not. Now we have been stuck with them for a year. We filed a complaint in Arkansas and now am filing one in Missouri. I would also like some good information on legal action to take against them.

Fraud and Lies

We were so taken by them, I feel stupid, but we ask over and over again if it was true that no money would change hands because we had an other timeshare of equal value, so I paid to list my other timeshare, with the company he (Scott) said would sell it and after nine months of course it still is not sold, so now they want the remaining $8, 500.00. We don't have the money so they are getting lawyers to sue us. They also told us we could use our timeshare anywhere, anytime for $299.00 and a bunch more lies. I have never been taken so bad in my life and they should not be able to do this. So I too would like some good information on legal action If anyone is taking a class action suits we would join you. So mad

Fraud and Lies

We were robbed by these people as well. Told we would be given two free weeks every other year but when our first year rolled around, we were given one week and told they have never sold anything with two week only one week. Floyd, the "manager" if you can really call him that told me I would have to provide proof of being told such a thing, made me feel like I was trying to pull one over on him. We purchased in July 2009, we have yet to be able to book anything for our family. With the 30 day only reservation rule you can't get in anywhere and there is an upcharge on everything which certainly was left out in our presentation. The only successful booking, (I'm using the word successful lightly) was for my daughter & son-in-law for their honeymoon. I couldn't book where they wanted naturally but they found an affiliated resort so we had to pay an additional $119 on our FREE week. They said the place was ok but nowhere as fabulous as they make everything seem. I have contacted them asking if I can get out of our contract and stated why. I am being given the run around by Tom Newman. He had to forward my request to the developers office in Branson. That's the only response I can get. My husband & I were completely ripped off and I have nothing but harsh feelings for this place. I would love to be included if anyone does a class action suit. This place is a big joke! Nothing but a bunch of liars!!

Fraud and Lies

The $299 per week concept has been very much overSTATED and overSOLD by the sales team. It would have been easier to get a spot if we wanted to pay an upcharge, however there was no mention of that at the original sales meeting. It was all great and grand at the meeting and later when I questioned it,... they stated that an upcharge is very standard if you want to get something to suit your time frame. These people are so oversold that the 30 day reservation rule is very tough to fit within. Also the affiliates where it was to be easy to get space was an absolute frustration because there was no options available when I gave them 4 different areas, such as Florida, Hawaii, Texas, and Arizona to work with at one time and we would be flexible as to when and where to go. After many weeks and months of waiting and us connecting to check progress there was still nothing available. Again that concept was so over SOLD that we could not get anything We went onto a cruise trip deal with them and found that our friends got onto that very same cruise boat at the very same time as us and at the very same price to the very penny. The affiliate deal was "no special deal"/"savings" at all, as our friends didn't belong to any group and were just skimming options on the computer and the cruise deal came up at the very same price. Go figure! The SPV Salesman said that if we wanted to sell our option that would be SO EASY, then when I told Floyd that things were not working out at all as presented and that I would now want to sell he stated that they do not re-sell unit options. Anything else I went over with him showing that things were not as stated he simply finally said that we were stuck with the contract and asked if there was any "other questions'", meaning basically for us to "get lost" as the "primary issue" was never handled to our satisfaction.! I told him that I will be seeking recourse and connecting with others to do some ""reverse marketing" for them, He asked if I was threatening him and I stated NO Way I am Making A Promise that there will be further events since he doesn't want to do anything constructive for the concerns. In other words to let others know about there lousy business practises which include lying and deceit to make a sale in any way they can, to say anything to cover the moment and later you are hung with their package without interest at Floyds level (he was the top guy to handle the call) to make things right . Oh by the way "All Misunderstandings were to be ..".My Misunderstandings". I will note here that I sell homes in my market and know about customer service and followup to fix things when needed. After 40 years in the business I kind of know some of the questions to ask and however it is hard to make an informed decision when the information they tell you in not factual (commonly known as a Lie).
I would very much like to team up with anybody considering a "class action suit"and I'm sure we can then get a fair handling of our concerns. Now I only want out and not deal with these scoundrels/liars and bottom feeders any more than required to get compensated for costs, maybe more ...who knows. We will be returning to Branson to visit many more times and I would be willing to connect up with others who are like minded to tour around with "nasty banners" advising tourists against doing business with them without a thorough "due diligence procedure". Just imagine the frustration to them if we drove back and forth in the front of there sales offices with a "double 'Nasty' bannered vehicle" for a few hours. I would be pleased to hear from any like minded folks by emailing me at; [email protected] Mark 'subject' as "Stormy Point Village complaint"

Fraud and Lies

We were flat lied to by the Stormy Point sales team. We owned another time share and did not want to buy a second one. They told us they could sell it for us. They got a man from VSI on the phone and he told us our time share in Las Vegas was very sellable and that he could even get more than we paid for it. Sounded too good to be true but we were ":stupid" and went ahead with the purchase of Stormy Point property assuming we could pay it off when our first time share sold. Well we paid $299 to list the Las Vegas time share and have yet to hear from them (2 years).

The management of Stormy Point know this deceptive practice is being used and I don't believe we will ever go to Branson again knowing the deceitful way we were treated there.

fraud and lies

i was also lied to when i bought at stormy point. i went to their presentation and did not want to buy another timeshare but they assured me that they could sell my other timeshare and it would:t cost me anything. Put me on the phone with something who also told me what i could sell my timeshare for it did sound too good to be true but i believed him.. It was all a lie they had no intention of selling my timeshare. I have talked with them many times about this but bottom line is I am stuck with Stormy Point. And to stay here a week is very expensive and I am in the Admirals Club which doesnt make any difference. I would love to be able to get out of this contract and get some of my money back. Very dissatisfied with everyone in the sales office. I will not recommend this to anyone.
