Exchange secrets

I have also been a victim of RCI's unethical business practices. I own a week at a gold crown and banked it with RCI. Essentially losing a perfectly good week, because there was never anything of good quality to trade for, unless you want to go off season. It is very frustrating, not only dealing with their sales people, but their website as well. The idea sounded very good, but it is a huge waste of money. Obviously there are much better vacation deals than having to go through RCI, but I believed they were selling what they claim. A fair trade. Not true. FYI, there was class action already against them, The settlement seems to not have really benefitted anyone but RCI. 20% off a booking fee and such. Not your money back for membership, or points. Anyone who has dealt with them would agree, never again.

Hello Lesf9. We are sorry to hear of your frustration. It sounds like there might be some confusion, as Trading Power is a part of the RCI Weeks program. The RCI Points program is different. For clarification on Trading Power and the RCI Weeks program, check out http://www.rci.com/weeksenhancements. The new enhancements to the RCI Weeks program were added as part of the existing RCI Weeks program and are designed to offer more benefits, flexibility and choice to the RCI Weeks members.

When 2 or more members have an Ongoing Search for a specific area or resort, and they each have enough Deposit Trading Power to confirm the vacation that becomes available, the member who submitted their request first will match to the available vacation first. This is why it is very important to deposit and plan your vacation as far in advance as possible, especially if you are planning to travel into a highly demanded area and/or timeframe. The enhancements to the RCI Weeks program now allow you to combine Deposits in order to increase your Deposit Trading Power. Therefore, if you do not have enough Deposit Trading Power to obtain the vacation you want, you now have this option available to you.
