mirena recall

I am 25 i had the mirena put in a year and a half ago after i had my daughter... I have had my cycle every month sometimes the whole month at other times twice a month.. I have had bad mood swings, cramping so bad i cant get out of bed, sever headaches, discharge, weight gain, painful sex, bleeding after sex and sharp pains... I was told by my obgyn that i need to get it removed but i am scared to have another baby at this time. though this is effective i dont find it to be safe.. If there isnt a recall on this there should be! There are to many of us who are suffering and even worse not able to have children again! Something has to be done about this. i wouldnt wish any of this on my worse enemy... I just wanted to let women know my experience with this horrible IUD.. I am getting it removed in two weeks and would recommed that noone else gets the IUD!!! good luck to everyone..

mirena recall

im 29 years old i have had the mirena since oct. 2009. i got it after my 5th child hes 2 now. i had a friend tell me it was recalled about 4 or 5 months ago. i didnt believe her but ive been hurting and everything i dont have the money to go to the doctor and everytime i get checked they say its fine. i havent been to a real doctor because were heving money issues and since my husband read that getting pregnate could kill me on this we havent had sex since weve been together. ive had mirena for 2 years and me and him have been together a year and a half. this sucks i want it out and i cant find a doctor cheap enough to take it out i really need help. between my belly and my back i cant really do anything anymore. and i kno a girl that had the mirena, she got pregnate and hers was gone to when she had her baby he was holding it.

mirena recall

I am 23 yrs old and got my mirena inserted 3 yrs ago. From day one, I had nothing but problems that I kept being told "had nothing to do with the iud"...I got it removed yesterday. Immediately, the pain in my left upper leg that felt like a pinched nerve, was gone! Its been 24 hours now and I am already feeling better than I have the entire 3 yrs I had it. It made me extremely moody, depressed, tired, gaining weight, cramps, bleeding from my belly button, along with many other things. IT is different for everybody, and as for me as far as birth control, it was great, I just couldn't deal with all the crazy side effects. I had no idea about the recall...any ideas on where to find any info??

mirena recall

I am 43 and I had the Mirena in March 2010 due to terrible periods. After about a month l started to get boil type pimples on my face, which l thought was strange as l have never suffered with pimples before in my life. These pimples were so painful that my whole face as sore. They were huge, green and ugly. So l went to my GP and he prescribed antibiotics for the next 3 months. These meds did absolutely nothing. Every day l had a new visitor on my face. Then l started to experience other strange things happening to my body, which turned my life upside down. Things like:
Heart palpitations
Unable to sleep
Boils on my shoulders
Walking in a slow pace with no energy
Sweats – Day and night
Not wanting to leave the house
Anxiety
Depression
Constant thrush
No appetite
Panic attacks – One really bad attack driving home from work, had to call an ambulance

So I went back to the GP as my life was going downhill rapidly and didn’t know why. I had a great life and there was no reason for all this to be happening to me. My wonderful GP tells me that l need to go on antidepressants and l need to go talk to someone (skeletons in the closet)...WHAT umm NO l don’t! So l go home and tell my hubby and he says all this started to happen after your Mirena procedure you should look it up. WHAMMO...
Went to a new GP and demanded to get it out ASAP. This GP told me that she takes the Mirena from women every week due to side effects. REALLY, hmmm not surprised. I decided that when l get the Mirena out to get the ablation procedure as l don’t want a period and l would give that a go. Had the procedure 3 months ago now. Woke up with no bleeding at all and apart from cramps felt great. Still today l have not had a period. Still healing from the acne and l have a little anxiety but nowhere near as severe as what it was. My test results came back saying l had an infected uterus and that the Mirena was imbedded low and cased this. The GP gave me a script of antibiotics but l didn’t have to use it as l felt great.

I would never advise any women to get the Mirena, it’s just not worth the side effects.

Excessive bleeding, painful vagina, massive painful cramping

I had the IUD implanted after my daughter was born in October. Everything was fine and dandy for the first few weeks after implanting; after that is another story. All I did was bleed heavily, cramp like there was no end, and lie there and pray for death. It was very hard since my baby was only 2 months old. When the pain got to be like death, I went back to my OB/GYN and had my IUD removed. It was the best thing I could have done since the doctor said it was cutting me internally. Now I am on the patch and life could not be any better.

I am 22 and have never had kids. I have one partner and know that I do not want kids for a long time. After being on the depo shot for 3 years (which i loved, i had no periods or side effects) I decided to get the mirena for long term. It seemed even easier than goIng to the doctor every 3 months for depo. The insertion did not hurt, but upon walking into the room where I had it placed, I heard my doctor say, "alright these should be steralized for me already." She was looking at the tray of tools it takes to put the iud in. She made a guess but never asked a nurse. 3 weeks after the procedure my body broke out into eczema and what looked like chicken pox. I went to an instacare assuming an allergic reaction. They put me on 6 days of steroids, which clears everything! 2 days later, boils and puss bubbles apeared on my back and chest and they were intensly itchy :( I soon developed flulike symptoms (swollen throat, runny nose, head felt underwater) I went to a dermatologist that thought I had an immune deficiency disease. I went to an allergist that stabbed me with 58 allergens, I wasn't allergic to one. Not bugs, or detergents, animals, nothing. After looking online and speaking with several doctors turns out, I have an internal infection from the doctor not steralyzing the equipment ! I have never been so sick in my life. My hair is falling out and I am having nausea and nose bleeds too. I intend to sue this lazy ass doctor that rushed through my insertion. I am getting mirena out in a week. Going back to depo!

mirena iud

Have had the iud for over 3 years, starting out my periods would go twice in a month, had positive pregnancy test when I wasn't pregnant, heavy periods, now not enough blood only to wear a panty liner, had an ultrasound to be told its not in the right spot, going to have another one this coming Monday by another obgyn, since the last one didn't put me down for surgery, so this new obgyn couldn't find my strings, then last week I slid on my feet at work pulled my groin muscle, right away have had major cramping and bad headaches, which I never had headaches since I got the Iud, and I've been dealing with also on face and back when I never had it before...fingers crossed about Monday to figure me out......I'll put my symptoms now

Ache, face, chest & back
Major mood swings
No sex drive
Headaches
Positive pregnancy tests
menopause symptoms
Depression
anxiety
Heart attract symptoms
Tied all the time
Lack of energy
thirsty
Lack of appetite
Veins in my legs which you can see now
Bacterial infections in my vagina
Reoccurring yeast infections, when I never had one before the iud

mirena

I've had mirena for about two years. I thought it was the safest for our family since it didn't have any estrogen. I haven't felt like myself in a long time - nausea, headaches, fatigue, achy...I too have been having those flutters in my abdomen that were dimissed as gas. Never put it together til I saw the commercial about the lawsuits and started doing my research. Needless to say, I am having it removed next week! It's not worth the risks for me anymore...its not for everyone..

Love the Mirena

Hi ladies, I just wanted to share some information with you all about my experience with the Mirena... To those who read this to make up your mind, please use what YOU think is right. There are some possitive ladies with lots of success in using it. Myself for example. I had given birth to my son in 2005... After trying the pill (which resulted in a child even when taken 100% accurately) the depo (which also had a child) and I can't "forget" to take that right.... I decided to try the Mirena IUD... Now I don't know where the unfortunate young ladies have their doctor, but my doctor had sat down and went over EVERY single side effect with me.... nausea, MASSIVE cramping, more bleeding, headaches, possible movement of the "devise" etc... Well I can tell you that I had the Mirena for 2 years plus with mild side effects. Yes I had a little extra cramps sometimes unbareble, headaches, and even heavy bleeding, but hey I wasn't getting pregnant so I didn't care.... Then when my husband and I finally decided we DID want another one.... on my sons birthday we decided we were ready, so stupid me (even though my doctor STRONGLY advise against me doing this) I slowly pulled the string that is attached to the Mirena and out it came.... Guess what EXACTLY 9 months later we were delivery our baby....she is perfectly healthy happy 4 year old... So YES ladies I got pregnant the SAME exactly night that i took out my Mirena problem free.... Thank you for reading.......

mirena iud

I have had the iud in for almost 2 yrs now and it started out good but for the last few months I have been getting really bad headaches and dizzy spells, I have been getting my period twice a month or once a month really long and very heavy and bleeding off and on for the rest of the month, constantly have some type of infection. The last infections I had was a yeast infection and something that had to do with water which i dont understand because i rarely take a bath, Im a shower person. I have had really bad depression and anxiety/panic attacks so sever I have had to call an ambulance. Everytime I work I start to bleed, I have been gaining a lot of weight, and as of late I have been getting sever sharp shooting pains in my left side of my chest.

Mirena Recall

I am 22 years old, and got the Mirena 2 months after having my daughter. A couple Months later i have started to experience really bad pain in my uterus and pelvis area, and painful sex sometimes, my boyfriend also experienced pain after......I would call and make appointments to see if it was still in the rite place and ask if i could have it removed it was giving me problems as young as i was the midwives would tell me thats just side effects and kept telling me do u really want to take it out.....i was young and listened to everyone and well kept it in longer i think the reason they made me keep it in so that i wouldnt get pregnant again....i was barly on my first kid so really.. after one year of having the mirena i started getting really bad periods would bleed very heavy and would be moody and tired all day, i also have been putting on some weight, and headaches are almost everyday... so im thinking the longer you have the mirena in the more severe pains you have...as of today i have had the Mirena in for 3 years and 6 months i made an appointment to take it out now that i know that there is a recall on it i kant take this kind of pain anymore hopefully getting it removed i wnt experience no more pain!!!!!!!

mirena iud

I am 25 yeras old. I have had the mirena iud now for three years. When i first got the iud inserted I didnt get my menstrual period for more than 5 months and when I did it was very painful. I had never had cramping, mood swings or headaches prior to my period and now I do. I am always bloated, sharp pain in my stomach and very bad constipation. My obyn told me that the iud would regulate my period and that has never happend, totally oposite i get it every once in a while. The worst out of all this to me are my severe migraines, I have passed out due to my migraine pain, always vomiting, shaking and it gets to a point where I just cry.I have mentioned it to my dr but they told me that according to there information mirena does not cause that which is a bunch of bull. I do not recommend this to anyone.

Mirena

I am 16, I had mirena inserted when I was 15 after I had my son. After a week it became very uncomfortable, I had really bad cramps, and a lot of bleeding. A couple months after it had been inserted my doctor told me it was causing an infection in my lymph nodes. The doctor said my lymph nodes should stop swelling after a week of antibiotics, but they are still swelling off and on and are very painful. I've went to a hematologist and it's not cancer, did anyone else experience these side affects?

Mirana Recall

I am currently on my 2nd mirana iud and have had no problems I love it!!!! No periods no cramps no problems what so ever everyone needs to read the side effects on things before you decide it doesn't happen to every one and alot of the problems yall describe can be caused by anything. I'm a nurse and everything you take has side effects all the way down to plain tylenol which can cause liver failure all it takes it a little bit of time to read.

Mirena IUD

I had Mirena for 5 years, had it removed and a new one inserted. Since the new one I have had yeast infection after yeast infection. It just doesn't seem to go away. Reading everyone else's complaints and symptoms makes me realize that I have a lot of the same symptoms. I never would have associated these symptoms with Mirena. I couldn't figure out what was going on with me. Now I have a better idea and will be calling my doctor in the morning. So glad I looked into this. Thank you to everyone for sharing your expierence with this product. I hope that everything works out for all involved.

mirena recall

I was 19 when I had mirena inserted in 2010 I didn't have any problems with it other than the cramping when it is inserted I was pleased with it my period stopped and I never had any pain.. Until 2012 I woke up one day and had the worst cramping pains in my abdomen all down my legs in my back I went to the emergency room and they said I had ovarian cysts which hurt worse than labor.. After finding all this out me and my fiancé decided that we wanted to have a child of our own so in may 2012 I got mirena removed when I did it felt like a pinch and that was it I was fine. But we have been trying to get pregnant since then and now I am seeing that it can cause infertility I am really worried that this may have messed up my chances of having a child... Does anyone have any advice.

Mirena causing discharge

I have had mirena since 2008 and I am supposed to get it removed in December. I have had discharge w an odor ever since having it placed. I would go to the doctor periodically over the last several years and they would always say that mirena is not the cause but I know it is. In order to even maintain the odor I have to take a probiotic, eat yogurt, wash with Burt's bees, and use a panty liner or tampon every single day! The odor and discharge never ever go away! The symptoms are starting to get out of hand and they are a damper on my sex life, social life, and work life. It is an amazing contraceptive. But fails in side effects. I will be exploring other options soon, I can not handle these symptoms for another 11 months.
