Consumer reviews about Melaleuca

Senior IV Melaleuca Marketing Executive
Jan 11, 2012

Big scam

I too feel badly that the person that complained about the company had some bitter issues. It sounds like the person didn't really try to make it work if they wanted to be a marketing executive. By reading the rebuttal comments, I agree that Melaleuca is a great company with great products and a great compensation plan. I receive a check every month, on time, and it keeps growing as I keep enrolling customers who see the value in the products. The person that complained obviously thought the money would come rolling in without putting forth any effort of sharing the products with others. The presentation specifically says everything and teaches why and how the company works for customers and business builders. There are no secrets and there's no misleading information. I too agree that the enroller is the one that needs to be complained to/at. The company has the Torch Award from the BBB by taking care of its customers with integrity.

AVOID

Was with the company for about 6 months. Products are expensive and customer service as a non-preferred member is not first class. They charge you with restocking fees for returns, just another way to make more money off of customers. They also deduct money from your account if you have a credit with them, proves to be an even worse BS policy. Beware of this so called "green", "more healthy", "natural" company. Your local organic markets are just as good, more affordable, and don't treat their customers with a nickel and dime mentality like Melaleuca does

charges and cancellations

Hi Fidel Dait, it's so easy to cancel just call your Enroller or Melaleuca:-) I am a Preferred Customer since Dec. 2010 and have been shopping for free:-) I am an ICU nurse and saw the value of using Melaleuca's nature-based, eco-friendly products:-) My 3 kids' Eczema were healed just with the Renew Lotion. My son's Asthma and severe nasal allergy were gone after switching to their Ecosense cleaning products:-) My husband is off his cholesterol medicine (Welchol) after 3 months' use of Melaleuca's Vitality 6 and Fiberwise. Nothing will convince me to go back to local store brands usually with cheap, harsh ingredients:-) And by the way, the help for the ” little guy” is real...my husband won't get hired as Respiratory Therapist since 2010...the economy is really bad...with Melaleuca, just educating others to be smart shoppers we now have extra $1000 to $1400 a month!:-) We help others do the same :-) Thank you for at least trying Melaleuca:-)
Best,
Success2010

AVOID

THESE ABOVE COMMENTS ARE BOGUS! Melaleuca is NOT an MLM company, and if you paid ANY attention to the person enrolling you, you would know that. All products are priced reasonably, are FAR SUPERIOR to the TOXIC products in grocery stores, and all customers are eligible to share in the profits with the company. SHAME ON YOU for trying to discredit a company that has "enhancing the lives of others" in its mission statement.

Scam

Yeah this complaint is a total load of BS. Melaleuca has a GREAT reputation, and has won several prestigious awards for its ethical business practices. People who work with MLMs post these bogus complaints just to stir up trouble. Complaints about Melaleuca are hardly ever legitimate.

My only response is simple, If such products work for others then great. However not everyone follows the beaten path of an MLM such as this one. I feel sorry for those who believe it is far superior than anything you can purchase at a regular store. I can help share life enhancing products without the pressure of being a so called "preferred member" or meeting a requirement to spend a minimum of $70 per month on items i purchased the month before. I probably would have a different opinion had i not felt the pressure to spend money every month on items i did not need. Not what i call promoting a debt free ideology.

Don't worth the time

Fraud, Scam or whatever people say really doesn’t matter. Or maybe, people don't read the “out clause” or terms and conditions before signing their name on the dotted line. It does not matter. Here are the Facts about Melaleuca, they sold over a BILLION DOLLARS worth of products, and people must like their products, right?

Pyramid systems have been outlawed in the US a long time ago and they don’t sell any products. Melaleuca has over 350 products. We are paid just for referring people to Melaleuca and helping them register and that’s it! No inventory control, no billing, no carrying of products. We are paid on immediate commissions with several tiers of bonuses and handsome residual income, how GREAT is that!

They have paid out over 2.8 Billion in commissions to regular people out there in the past 27 yrs. What is really great about Melaleuca is they genuinely want to HELP. This is Very Rare for a corporate identity. Helping people better their health; getting them out of debt; having a good personal life, so too in preserving our environment, is that a BAD goal to have?

This is more than a business for most of us. You would really have to experience Melaleuca, and when you do, you too would have fallen in love with them just it like the more than 850 thousand families that have joined them. Sorry, but it’s hard to find sad story’s telling lies here. What you will find are people’s experiences in how lives have changed because of Melaleuca.

A Successful Melaleuca breeds successful people and it’s not too late to join us. If you want to succeed and willing to work at it and if you think you are coachable, “We Will Help” because Melaleuca wants us to.

We are just starting; more questions, give me a call, Tony 408-771-0296.
If NOT, then, Good Luck on your travels and I hope you find contentment!

Fraud and scam

Fraud, Scam or whatever people say really doesn’t matter. Or maybe, people don’t read the “out clause” or terms and conditions before signing their name on the dotted line. It does not matter. Here are the Facts about Melaleuca, they sold over a BILLION DOLLARS last year worth of products, so people must like their products, right? Nowadays, no matter what business you go into, it’s products, products, products.

Pyramid systems have been outlawed in the US a long time ago and they don’t even sell any products at all. Melaleuca has over 350 products. Don’t let people mislead you; this is NOT MLM or no “break aways.” Melaleuca works because they don’t advertise and don’t have any distributors (buy products to sell). All we do is word of mouth advertising, you like the product you share it! In turn, we are paid just for referring people to Melaleuca and helping them register and that’s it! The savings in advertising is their revenue sharing program, simple. We have no inventory control, no billing, no carrying of products. We are paid on immediate commissions with several tiers of bonuses and handsome residual income, how GREAT is that!

This is not a lottery, people work at it. If you can find a system that will make you money without working for it, let me know, I’m interested. They have paid out over 2.8 Billion in commissions to regular people out there in the past 27 yrs. What is really great about Melaleuca is they genuinely want to HELP. This is Very Rare for a corporate identity. Helping people better their health; getting them out of debt; having a good personal life and preserving our environment for our children, is that a BAD goal to have?

Online scam!

I got very angry when I saw all the complaints bout Melaleuca. But what they wrote would not have made me not join the company because those people sounded like morons. I would have said duh you have to buy all these things anyway and someone that liked Melaleuca said things aren't cheaper than wal-mart. In the presentation the Founder states that the products are often cheaper than their harmful counter parts. Something a good rep would remember. They did not say all. But all are safer and there are many like the shampoo for example. I have used my bottle for months now. I would have to probably buy 5 bottles from the other stores by now. My hair looks better now than when I bought any other shampoo anywhere. I have saloon style hair that's cheaper than Pantene that never worked on my hair. It even makes the grey in my hair look nice and my husband compliments my hair all the time now and he always hated the grey but I ruined my hair with dye and this shampoo brought my hair back to life. The laundry detergent is amazing and so is all the cleaning products. I signed up a friend that says she would follow me anywhere buy when it comes to her money she don't know. Well I get woken by a text everyday since she became a customer telling me about a new product she is a liken a lot. She said the products are even getting her kids cleaning. And I know that is a true miracle. She said that it's like crack lol waiting for her Melaleuca shipment to come. So if you haven't tried to work the company correctly don't waste money signing up for a website domain to trash a company you didn't even give a chance. I signed up my mom and my friend and I have spent lots of time building a contact list that doesn't require me to track down all my friends and family. It is simple. Look for people who are selling. This is simple. I know that one day my friends and family will come to me asking to get in because I have been successful. I listen to lots of training. Talk to my mentor several times a week and am just learning everything I can about the entire business and then I am going to take on the world and build a lifetime retirement for my family and teach them all how to do the same. In the meantime I am working on getting my products paid for every month. I signed 2 people so far. My mom and my friend and I made 45.00. So I am almost there already. Every time I go to the store I have to buy something that is not food and when you actually look at that bill you see 3.4 of it is actually not food. I found my Melaleuca money by cancelling a couple monthly subscriptions I did not need. I wouldn't have done that if I was just taking that money to the grocery store. So now I have budgeted all the money to pay for the 3/4 non food items on the belt so now I have more money to buy food items and walk out with mostly food we can eat with the exception of animal food and paper towel and toilet paper cat litter etc but now I am on the way to getting all my Melaleuca products paid for along with what I buy at the store just by showing a few open minded people what I do.Oh and my mom got a check for 2.59 because I put my friend under her. Then when my friend gets someone under her my mom and I will also profit from every customer that buys from my friend and her friend and their friend all the way to 7 generations month after month for a one time effort. If you don't have what it takes to be open minded and adjust to something new and read what your getting into then walk away and don't ruin an opportunity for someone else because they read your misleading information about an honest business. As far as canceling on the phone they need it in writing. What if you were a million dollar rep and someone you knew got mad at you they could call Melaleuca and say hey this is Jane Doe cancel my account please and you would lose a million dollar business just like that. That is to protect you not to make 50 bucks from you. Grow Up. Listen Better.

Scam

I tend to believe the complaint is true!! I just did a bank rec on my checking account and found a charge of $61.32 payable to Melaleuca, Inc. Idaho Falls, ID. I never even heard of this company before seeing this charge. I checked with my husband and of course he also did not order anything from these people so I then called the bank to report the charge and have it investigated.
After calling the bank I decided to do an online search of the company. I found several different addresses and phone numbers listed under their name. Also found numerous complaints made against them as well.
As I said earlier -- I never heard of Melaleuca, Inc before today, but I can honestly say that this company fraudulently debited my bank account and scammed me for $61.32. Just imagine how many people don't catch or questioned these unauthorized charges to their accounts -- wow...a person or company could get rich quick with this kind of scheme!!

Guys, you don't understand the concept behind the business. After you have a solid organization, which doesn't take much to build if you are good at communicating with people (most people suck at this).

Once you have a solid organization, the last thing you are worry about is the miserable $70 because you are making easily a couple thousand dollars every month.

So, don't blame on Melaleuca your incapacity to conduct business. 95% of Americans are FOLLOWERS... not leaders. You need to be a leader to make this business succeed. I've made hundred of thousands with this company and about to reach 1MM very soon. 9 to 5 worker mentality will not make you a penny in this business, so keep flipping burgers at McDonalds, you don't know any better obviously.

Illegaly subscribed me for membership and now they are refusing to cancel it

Their sales representative came to my office with a presentation, offering me a chance to become a sales representative for Melaleuca. I refused, so she asked me to at least try their products. I agreed and filled the membership form, then she called me and asked for credit card details - I refused, since I don't want any full membership and I told her to cancel everything then. Later on she called to tell me that she resolved a problem by getting me a prepaid credit card from wall-mart but I'll have to call her back. I didn't, a few weeks later I've received a package from Melaleuca, which I didn't accept, I called the company, explaining everything, but they refused to close the membership. So now I'm left with this membership which I didn't require in the first place.

Scam

There is a lot of your complaint that does not ring true. First Melaleuca is a 25 yr old company with a A BBB rating and recipient of numerous other business awards. It is not likely that they picked your credit card information off line and randomly charged it $61.32. (There annual sales last year were over $948 million and they have a 95% reorder rate.)

Second, if my card had a charge from a company that I had never heard of, the first thing I would do is contact the company and get all of the details regarding the charge. It is hard to believe that you did not do this. I would advise you to do so right away and find out why and for what they charged your card for because your bank will. If you bank finds out that you or another authorized card holder signed an agreement they will not refund the money and they may take additional steps for the filing of a false claim.

If your above claim is true I would advise that it is more likely that someone has stolen your information and used it for their own personal benefit and that you should check on all of your other financial documents and accounts right away.

Scam

First of all -- what I stated in my first comment is true. I took the right course by calling my bank without delay. I was not in fear of any repercussions from my bank because I was telling the truth. When I called the bank I immediately had my debit card account closed and was issued a new one.

The bank investigated the charges and my account has been credited back the $61.32. As to not calling the company -- there was no phone number listed with the charge on my statement. When I tried to get a phone number by looking up the name and city online I found there were several business addresses and phone numbers listed with Melaleuca in the business name. I did not have the time to pursue each business with nothing more than my bank statement. The best recourse is to always notify your financial institution immediately!!

How and why the charges got on my statement is still unknown. If someone stole my information then I'm lucky I caught the mistake before any other charges started to appear (another good reason for contacting your bank ASAP). Also...(and thank you for your advice) after calling my bank I immediately did exactly as your last paragraph suggested and my other accounts have shown no charges that weren't made by me.

I will admit to not knowing who made the charges and I should give the company the benefit of the doubt. The only thing I have to say about that is...whoever did it had to use a name and address other than mine. Why would this great company have the practice of allowing charges to be made to a debit / credit card whithout either the name or address matching with what is on record. I order things online once in awhile and most of the time it will state that the name and address must appear exactly as it is on the account. That said -- the $61.32 was back in my account in 2 days. Melaleuca obviously recognized the mistake after the bank brought it to their attention.

Okay...enough said. I'm not going to respond to anymore comments on the subject because - honestly - I just don't have the time. If I hadn't received an email about your comment I wouldn't be wasting my time now. I originally posted my comment after doing an online investigation on Melaleuca, Inc and came across the postings.

Wow, it's interesting to hear the opinions of the above. My two cents worth is also my opine. I've used these products since May 2011. My house is now cleaned with products made in the USA, I am not afraid to breathe in while I am using them AND unlike ANY inexpensive store bought product that I have used, THEY CLEAN!!
I also feel great after taking the vitality pack. The proof is in the blood work too. My cardiologist asked me what I had been doing differently. After telling her, she wants to know more. The only thing I changed was taking the Vitality 50+ complete. As far as a scam, I have made money, not thinking this is a get rich quick plan but as I share with others, I do get paid. I like that idea. Maybe many of the negatives are due to people telling others they can makes tons of moola while the truth is, you might...while sharing these great products with those you care about and becoming more healthy; physically, environmentally and financially.

Do your research

You are in for big surprises, check out how this company goes after thier own people in court. The actual court documents are a matter of public record, Good news is that they lost .This company is a very BAD company to get involved with. Here in Chicago. the high level directors are sending thier downlines to the malls to solicit people, telling them they are doing a photo shoot under a false name, they have them come to thier location due a makeover, take a photo and then try to sign them up for a 65.00 monthly commitment.Soliciting in a mall is Illegal. They were thrown out of a flea market for doing the same thing told they woul have to buy a table like everyone else .(40.00) a cost you would think they could afford if they were successful. After being removed they continued to solicit out in front and again needed to be told you can not do this or be arrested.Thier game is over now because all malls have been given thier names and game. And yes Corporate is aware of this and did nothing. This is a very dangerou company to get involved with. There are many excellant products made pure without the unprofessional, unethical nonsense to deal with . anyone wants to get into companies that act like this shows they are lacking morals and decency themselves.

unauthorized charges

I ordered a product from them and I never received it. I thought it might be because my credit card has expired and I sent them my new details but they did nothing. After time I found in my statement that their charged me twice for something I really don't know. I didn't order anything from them and I also cancelled my previous order.
This is a scam, be careful!

poor service

I've been their customer for a long time and for the last few month this company started fraudulent policy against their customers. They overcharged me twice for my purchase which I never received and they didn't provide me a refund. It never happened before. The same complaints were made by their other customers. I guess this company is not what it claims to be anymore. Beware and be careful!

bad products

I was very much surprised and disgusted at the same time when I found out that the products that they release are bad for use, and have been recently banned. I have been using those for many years, and only now I know the truth.
