They gave my email address out to spammers
I agree with you, i have an email account.
[email protected]
that i used to sign up, i have received spam to that address, now, no spammer in the world would ever guess my address because it is also a personalised subdomain of a subdomain...the only explanation is that luminosity sold my email address.

They gave my email address out to spammers
Hi usrhip - this is Hallie from Lumosity.com. Sorry for any trouble! I tried to look into what could have happened, but I can't find a Lumosity.com account linked to this email address, [email protected]. Is it possible you used another, very similar, email address to create your account? Let me know, and just to reiterate we do not sell or share our users email addresses in any form.
Here's our privacy policy again: www.lumosity.com/privacy-policy
Thanks - Hallie

They gave my email address out to spammers
HI Hallie, you wont find [email protected] because it probably has never been registered and i used the myaddress.com extension as an example of how i set my email address up. The reason you won't find my email address is because i am not stupid enough to write that which has been sold / hacked from you guys on the internet in plain text. This is only going to invite yet more spam.
The account in question was set up purely to use at lumosity and no where else. It is unguessable too so unlikely that a spammer just happened to chance upon it.

They gave my email address out to spammers
Is is my opinion that Lumosity has turned into a scam website. You cannot even delete your account. When I try to delete my account, Lumosity gives me the following error: "Oops! The application can't do that. Our engineers have been notified of the problem. For now, try hitting the back button on your browser." I have tried this 10 times.
I also have received a lot of spam email. I can not prove it is due to Lumosity as this specific email address was used with eBay and Lumosity, but it was at least very limited to just these accounts and no other service provider should know this specific email address as I have never used it with anyone else. The previous two posters, Hugger and usrhlp, suggest they can prove it's due to Lumosity since their specific email address was used with Lumosity and only with Lumosity since they created their email addresses specifically for Lumosity and only with Lumosity. (The email address associated with this post is completely unrelated and created just for this post.)

They gave my email address out to spammers
Hi LumosityUser, sorry for the trouble! There shouldn't be a problem deleting your account, but I can also take care of it for you if you let me know your username.
Just to reiterate to all Lumosity members, we do not sell or share our users' email addresses with outside entities. We've investigated if or how spammers are accessing email addresses used in accounts but haven't been able to locate a breach in our system. That's not to say spammers may not be able to find email addresses in another way, and we consistently work to make sure our members' information is secure.

They refuse to give me a prorated refund
I've asked for a prorated refund because of a number of issues I have with their online games. I originally complained after 2 weeks into the subscription and the rep told me that after I "skip" the game I had an issue with a number of times it'll stop coming up. After 7 weeks, it still comes up, plus there is another game that is screwy. I have written numerous emails complaining, and now they tell me that there are NO REFUNDS AFTER 30 DAYS. I did not know this before and it is not anywhere obvious on their website, if it is there at all. I could have gotten a refund after my first complained but the rep fooled me into staying on until it was too late. THIS ISN'T THE WAY TO TREAT A NEW CUSTOMER, AND THIS IS HOW YOU LOSE A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE.

how did you get my secure email address
i opened a brand new email address. there was no one on the site that would have sold addresses (just 3 people). still, lumosity sent me an email. how did you get my address? how did you crack my email name? also my password had been compromised and my email did not require me to sign in, which is something i always require. i strongly suspect you are spyware.

repulsive 'help' centre staff-member
Seth, a Team Leader or something similar, has disrespected me in a repulsive way. And his supervisor, whom he apparently escalated the issue to, hasn't gotten back to me after 20 days. I require a polite and apologetic email from the senior management that will at least try and answer some of my very reasonable questions. Check ticket #881283.
I have retained a copy of the emails which show Seth doing nothing about my request, giving me none of the information I'd requested, and basically just fobbing me off (presumably because he's too lazy to get out of his chair and follow my request up. If this assumption is wrong, why wouldn't he back his position up by saying "Actually, the way things work here is 'x', so I've taken steps 'y' and 'z' to get your request actioned."? Perhaps he feels his job would be jeopardy if he actually lies to me - but surely it's already in jeopardy because of how disgustingly disrespectful he's been! Don't like that Seth? The answer is simple. DO A DECENT RESPECTFUL JOB!!!
I will be pursuing getting an apology email from CEO Kunal Sarkar or at least someone in the senior management team within the next few days. Otherwise I guess I'll have to make my case known to the media. I'm sure any decent hard-working media personality would also be appalled at the treatment I've been given...
