Hi
I just had a call from them and the ABN provided by them was 63964521297, I had a search and it is valid ABN.
If it is going to help you here is the web link:
http://www.abr.business.gov.au/SearchByAbn.aspx?SearchText=63964521297
They told me that the vouchers are twin share per room per day and the catch is you have to purchase 2 meals a day from the same hotel

Thank you
Tony

Rip Off - Rude

I had a call from them tonight and was very tempted as I am planning a family trip to Melbourne later in the year. The woman became very pushy and I felt quite pressured. I eventually put her off and then I called one of the hotels that she had mentioned and they informed me that yes they would honour the vouchers, but the requirement is that we must spend a minimum of $185 on food and beverages for each night! That's one minor detail the woman neglected to tell me! I can only assume that other hotels would have similar stipulations, in which case, you might save on the accommodation, but food and drinks at that rate is much more than we would normally spend, plus we would miss out on trying the many other good restaurants available (and there's no shortage of great restaurants in Melbourne, and much cheaper!).

I had similar experience.
When they told me the deals over the phone, they never mention that I have to pay for the meals to get the complimentary accomodation. Instead, they confirm with me several times the meals are free. When I disputed the deal when I received the voucher, and request to listen to the recorded voice conversation, their complaint department refuse to do so.
Gabes comments were very useful regarding the minimum spending on food $185. It is a condition never specified anywhere and it is up to the hotel to specify, so it can be any amount.
Any victims should submit applications to the Fair Trading Tribunal, get Hotel Bargains to specify the minimum spending on food in the deal so there is no hidden conditions.
If Fair Trading is useless in solving your application (I find them useless and not very helpful that is the reason why we have so many scam): for those paid by credit card, dispute the transaction through the bank, because Hotel Bargain need to submit proof that they have the customer's approval before charging. If the recorded voice conversation proof that they are misleading, you might be able to get your money back that way.

I am abit worried about this company aswell. I paid money and was told that the hotelbooklet was out of stock due to printing delays. I tried to ring their information number 1300 850 660 and got a recorded message which played 3 times and then hung up. I tried to email [email protected] and the message was sent back as unrecieved. Unlike the previous I was told we needed to pay for 2 meals a day and considered that cheaper but was unaware there was a minimum spend. I will be emailing fair trading

Same as above. I was contacted by phone. The information I was given was that there was no minimum amount I needed to spend and it was only for one meal! I told them to call me later so that I could do the research. Thank you guys for the above info! I have never been interested in these kinds of deals but today I almost made an exception.

Want to hear from you!

Hi Friends,

I work as a sales executive with Hotel Bargains. I work for the this company from India. In fact, all the information that we provide over the phone is provided to us from the Hotel Bargains head office, which is located at Southport, Queensland. As a sales team, we've access to give the discounted price on the packages offered on our website(www.hotelbargains.com.au). And also, we too are allowed to sell a different packages as well. Unfortunately, our website is often not updated. That's the only reason some confusion is created while we take the customers through the customers. Obviously, it's not our, personally my, intention to provide you the wrong information. It's not only the matter of the company for which I'm working now, but all the countries are looking towards Asian countries for BPO SUPPORT(Customer, Sales etc..). As we're provided with job and being paid, we're work as the companies direct us but nothing to cheat you. We too work for our livelihood and we'll not be happy either to earn by cheating you. You've everything in front of you on our website. If you really find out this company is not legitimate, you're the responsible persons to take legal action, instead of posting bad comments. By don't that you'll obviously save your fellow Aussies money and also our moral dignity as well. Thanks for reading my comments................

Hotel Bargains.com.au

Avoid Hotelbargains.com.au its a sickening scam!

They lied to me about having accommodation available at a specific location at a discount rate. Their rates are more expensive than going direct to the Hotel and they never return your calls or respond to your emails.Dealing with them makes me feel sick. You call and call and call but can't book anywhere you want to go at a decent price.

You are much better off using Lastminute.com or Wotif.com.au which has no obligations to hand over money in advance and you can arrange to pay on the day. Also they only operate business hours. You cannot simply go on line and make an automatic booking like other websites.
