Service Fees

OMG...you are an employee of goodlife so i dont expect the truth from you or any employee of that club. My 16 year old daughter joined that club and after 5 months lost her job and like any other child that was warned abou joining a club that has been in the news for shady practices did not tell us and they tried to take out that payment every week. So once a week there was a charge for the NSF (42.50 and their charge (28.25) so please dont tell me they arent shady and just out to screww anyone they can for the mighty buck!!! This is a warning to anybody thinking of joining Goodlife Fitness...DONT DO IT!!! THEY CARE ABOUT YOUR MONEY AND NOT ABOUT YOU. As for your "story" about disgrunted employees...what about the endless customers...are they lieing too? Something here is a little bit fishy and i'd like to hear your story in a few years when you no longer work there. Will your story be the same...I think not.

Cancellation charges

I want to cancel my membership because I'm in school and haven't had any time to go to the gym. I just want to know if the $99 plus tax is all I have to pay, I'm on a one year contract and I'm just going on my 3rd month.

Dirty clubs and Poor Management

I've had a great experience at Goodlife fitness and I believe it's Patch Evans not Patch adams. I asked the right questions and clearly knew what i was signing for.

Personal Training

Hi, I've had the same terrible experience with Goodlife. I told them I no longer want to train with them, however I have some sessions left on my contract and now they are telling me I'll be sent to collections if I don' pay for my unused sessions. What happened with you? Did they ever try to send you to collections?

GoodLife Personal Training standards

funny!! When enter your phone info for your three free months they call you back in under 30 minutes! Pretty messed up! I found out tonight that they forged the signature of my son's father so that they could sign my 17 year old son! Apparently there is not limit to the horrible business practices.

Horrible personal trainers

Goodlife fitness suck!!! My peronal trainer insist I continue training after I told him I am pregant and unable to attend workout, my feet were swollen and he insist on 'special feet exercise' What an idiot!!! He also failed to disclosed I will have to make full payment for 48 sessions when I only completed 12. He lied to me, at initial meeting I was told I pay per session which I was doing, his managers were never available or working, after leaving so many messages for the club manager, still no reply, NOW I am receiving letter from a Lawyer, if I don't pay, I will have bad credit. This is disgusting that they are doing this, especially to a pregant woman.

Terrible Customer Service

I was BLAMED for their lack of professionalism
THEIR seeming inability to read and respond to emails
THEIR inability to be at all compassionate about a persons circumstances and need to cancel membership

OH and the are NOT BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU ACCREDITED.

Horrible personal trainers

Goodlife fitness is a typical corporate citizen. They are incredibly eager to get into your wallet and bank account. After I moved to a town that didn`t have a location, I had to return to cancel my membership. They continue to go into my bank account to withdraw payments, even after I cancelled the exact way that they wanted me too. I wonder how long it will take them to either get out of my bank account, reply to my email or have a reasonable answer to my calls and inquiries.

GoodLife- Big Gym Chain Big Lack Of Service

Good Life have just taken over the old Genesis Gym in Camberwell, Victoria, Australia and they never advised the members/customers that things had changed. They were directly debiting my bank account without even arising me that the
business had changed hands.

Three weeks after the change over they send out an email which didn't explain much at all. What happened to customer service?
Um Good Life... have you heard that the basics to good business is relationship building - not just swiping peoples money.

The gym has gone from average and extremely untidy. The managers don't even speak to the members. So many members that I have spoken to have said the same thing. Out of the 23 people that I am good friends with at the gym. 11 have already left and myself and 4 others are speaking with another gym so we can move on.

I always say... business's will only learn when you hit them in the hip pocket!

A word of advice for all of the above posts where people have bad personal trainers but apparently can't get out of the contract... Cancel the direct debit via calling your bank. Let them send the collectors after you as they don't have a legal leg to stand on as you signed a contract with Good Life. If they have on sold the debt to a collector, they can bully you but they have no contractual rights as you never signed a contract with them. Don't answer the door when they come. DO NOT TAE THERE CALLS. When you are first called by a collector give them a PO Box to post correspondence to and tell them that you'll no longer take calls as you do not discuss legal matters over a phone or in person but only via written correspondence as this can be used by you at a later date if need be in a court of law.

They'd have to be stupid to threaten you via correspondence.

Wishing you all the best

Personal trainer

I was forced to get a personal trainer as soon as i got the membership, and they switched me between four trainers, and finally i wanted to cancel this trainer, and the manager told me that i cant, and he cant help me. All what they care about is to take the money from you, nothing else.
This is the lesson of my life, never to be pushed again against my will. The personal trainer is a big lie , they use very well to deceive people, i saw other customers coming, and they used the same way with them. So disgusting!!

money hunger liars

Goodlife gym in brisbane loaganholme hyperdome has ripped me off. I signed up last year in september and I only used the membership 4 times max. I tried a number of times to cancel by ringing them. They kept telling me that I couldnt cacnel while I owed money. finally after lots of tries to cancel my membership someone did over the phone. The women said over the phone that she would cancel it and send me a bill of what I owe so I can figure out how to pay it.
I never got a letter from them instead i got a 411 dollar debt collection agency billl from the gym.
I rang the gym yesterday to ask why I had gotten this bill and they told me that my account hadnt been canceled. Also that they had put me in the computers as a 12 contact when I signed up as a month to month.
The manger behind the desk said he would fix it and he would call back and he never did.
Then today I got another phone call from them saying that I cant canel until I paid them the 411.
What I agreed to was a month to month and that I could cancel at anytime with a fee of an extra to weeks. I dont understand how a 50 dollars a month in 3 months could get to the cost of 411 that they say I owe them.

Personal Training

I had a horrible experience with personal training at GoodLife Fitness. I was paying hundreds of dollars a month for trainer who did not do a thorough fitness assessment, did little/no coaching, poor supervision, and ran a routine that wasn't appropriate for me. I saw no evidence of planning, or a consistent effort on his part. After being put through questionable exercises without any demonstrations I cancelled my contract just 4 months in. I was invested in the process, thus why I stayed for 4 months, but I soon realized I was tossing my money away at someone who lacked the competency and professionalism to deliver the quality training I expected for the price I was paying. I was done paying for someone to blindly count repetitions, and who's only positive quality was his ability to grab weights/machines...

Little did I know GoodLife has some of the lowest standards for personal trainers. With just a "CanFit Pro" certification, anyone off the street can get one and get hired. Couple that with trainers who have little to no experience, no post-secondary education in health and fitness, and whose only aim is to get at many sales, and you're looking at a culture of amateurs not professionals invested in the health and fitness industry.

Lowest of standards

Even as someone who has the corporate plan I will not be returning to GoodLife Fitness, ever.

GoodLife is disconnected from the day-to-day operations. Some of the things I have heard and seen from their staff would make you question if there is even any credibility or accountability in their hiring process. Any issue I bring up, whether it be with management at the gym or through their "customer service" department, is never followed up on. This is company that doesn't know and doesn't care.

Over priced, poorly educated staff, and sales driven culture is the "GoodLife Standard". As someone who is moving on to local, smaller clubs I can rest assured I will never have to deal with them again.
