Paid for home owner's insurance, they cashed the checks, but are unwilling to give us a policy or a refund
I had a flood in my home on Saturday night, March 10. I called my agent who instructed me to call Disaster One for assistance with managing the emergency sitguation that night, as it was after NCFBI's business hours. I was also told to call the office of my agent on Monday to file the claim. I called three different numbers that morning. One was the office of my actual agent, Johnanathan Fritter where I was given another number for a Raleigh office. Once I called that number, I was told (with attitude) to call the previous number again, which I did, but received the after hours message, even though it was during regular business hours. So I called the first number again (#557-something), and was told to call the other number again. After much continued run around, I was eventually given a Raleigh number, which I called and was told they could take a message, but that no one was available to talk and accept my claim. It took me an hour just to get someone to take my contact information and tell me that an adjusted would contact me!!! Bryan Baskett eventually called me a few hours after (claims adjuster), and he was able to guide me through the next steps and schedule an appt to come to my home to see the damage caused by the flooding. Since then, each time I call any of the above offices, the person who answers the phones is consistently rude, cannot answer any questions (always responding "I don't know" to anything I ask), and being downright unhelpful. They definitely are coming across as if they could not care less about the issues I am experiencing. I even caught the woman who answered the phone today at 4:15pm in a lie, as she told me my claims adjuster was out sick and the person covering for him was out of the office, but she eventually slipped up and admitted he was indeed in the office). I begged her to PLEASE have him call me today as I have a repairman returning tomorrow, and I needed to confirm that what he is wanting to do is covered by my insurance. I explained to her my frustrations regarding my attempts to receive hep from your company, and she kept saying she would pass along my message, but that she did not want to hear about the details, because "I could tell that to the adjuster". Of course no one returned my call. I have NEVER experienced such utter disregard for customer service and compassion from an insurance company provider in my life! I am extremely unhappy and dissatisfied with this company, not that they will particularly care if their staff is at all representative of their overall attitude toward customers. Because I have been treated so disreprectfully, I felt inclined to report my complaint to them and let them know how crappy and unprofessional the majority of their staff has been toward me and my family during this stressful time. I can assure you that I am likely taking my business elsewhere after this claim is finalized, and that I will be letting everyone I know about the poor treatment we have received from most of their staff.
