There is no phone number to ring
Contact your bank and they will take it up on your behalf. I am with the Nationwide and they have always been very good at getting my money back, about third time now that I have had problems with fraudulent transactions.

Sorry, I didn't say, yes, that's exactly what's happened to me. I was charged £87 for a practical test. I just realised it and called my bank. They have reassured me that they will go after them for my money.
I have also raised a dispute with Paypal, as you have 45 days from date of transaction to do this, which my be a bit late for most of you currently here, but with my building society, they have been able to go back 6 months + to reclaim money on my behalf.

Don't use this site, it's a horrible scam
Hi Everyone
As per my post of yesterday I only then found out that I was scammed by direct bookin, I immediately contacted Paypal (whom I paid through), this morning I received a message from Paypal resolution centre, Direct Booking has refunded my money, the only thing is they have also cancelled my booking, which is fine, so I will now go to the DSA to rebook!

Directbookings
PayPal cannot resolve the issue as its for a Service and PayPal do not cover services, i have been the victim twice by this company, I instead contacted the bank and rasied a chargeback, got the money straight back and Directbookings got the money taken from them - Please do the same.

I couldn't agree more to the above posts it is a rip-off and I am victim of this fraud.
and they haven't yet refunded my money either. really gutted.

So very sly. If you go to their website to book your theory test, you will find that the first page has Start Here in big bold letters. To all intents and purposes it looks as if there is nothing relevant on that page... main menu down the right hand side and a list of payment options across the bottom... SCROLL Down and there you will find the small print. ... even a link to the DSA. Who wouldn't want to go that way!!! Playing on the naivety of the 17+ s the vast majority of whom would be using this site! Nasty!

I booked my theory with this company not knowing its a third party company was told i would get a confirmation from them in two to three day in which it didint happen I've tried to contact them a few times and not had Any replie not only did i lose money. to this place i don't even have a theory test i would advise not to use this company as they. will rip u off

No refund
Hi,
I'm also a victim of direct booking website.I booked via this site on 26th of April,but then I realized they are charging very high.Then I decided to rebook myself via DSA.I emailed direct booking to cancel and refund my money,but they didn't repond at all.I tried three times,but no response yet.Now today when I saw my bank statement,it has been debited already.Do advise me please what should I do?Thanks.

Direct Booking rip off
You'll like this one - not a lot!
My wife booked a theory driving test through Direct Booking and assumed it was via a government agency. She paid £62.
We though this was a mistake and that we had been charged twice because a theory test is only £31.
I have emailed Direct Booking on several occassions with no response. Reading their very lengthy terms & conditions they have extortionate administration charges. However, this does not add up to £62. They have no phone number or address to write to.
Further investigation reveals the below -
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates and are exclusively subject to the courts in the United Arab Emirates.
Lastly the below extract from their contact us webpage will have you laughing -
We are primarily an internet based company, and therefore to keep administration costs to a minimum we would prefer to deal with most queries by e-mail support.(which they do not answer)
PLEASE TO ALL THAT READ THIS TO BE AWARE AND TELL AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE. How companies are allowed to trade like this i do not know, Even the dvla are aware of this!

Was busy the day i booked my driving test, there online website uses the same colours as the DSA and says its the official website.
So i booked with directbooking.org.uk and after i paid my money i heard NOTHING from them. No e-mail to say that the money had been received or anything about my test. So i realised i had been scammed, booked another test with the DSA.
This is where it gets interesting, so i turn up for my test and the DSA said i cancelled and booked it for another day....so directbooking.org.uk have booked me a test, just didn't think it was worth mentioning to me.
Not only do they charge considerable more than the DSA, they then take your money and run. There is no way of contacting them, there is no phone number. I wrote to them to complain today, still not heard anything back, funny that??
