Ridiculous Policies

My husband and I own a service based company. We have been in business for approx. 15 years. We have been advertising with Yelp and numerous other on-line advertising sites for years. Like many small business owners, we get busy and sometimes overlook things that adversely affect us. I recently looked at our Yelp reviews on-line to see if we had received any reviews. When I looked at them, I found that Yelp apparently has a policy of 'hiding' reviews that they don't deem 'worthy'. As every small business owner knows, it is nearly impossible to get good customers to take the time to review you unless it is a complaint. We have a stellar reputation with our customers and work very hard to maintain that. So, when I realized that we had 2 very rare and greatly deserved positive reviews on-line that Yelp had chosen to 'hide', I became outraged. When they contacted me to renew our advertising, I declined (probably at our own peril) to make a statement against this ridiculous policy. I have attached copies of those reviews (before I clicked to expose the hidden ones, and after I clicked to expose them). Please know what Yelp will do to your business if you advertise with them. Hopefully, they change this policy in the future. They are also affiliated with DEX Media.
