Rip off

Cyberdefender is a total, and I mean TOTAL RIP OFF!!! DO NOT Buy into their DIS-service!!!. Last year, just before moving I got a nasty bug on my computer only to have have Cyberdefender immediately pop-up as a "superhero" ready to take care of the problem. I was initially a bit concerned about their "timeliness" and wondered if they themselves had dumped the crap on my computer so they could bleed money from me to clean it up. Handcuffed by the "bug", I bought their program and paid $249 to clean everything up. My initial problems went away and for a year they "seemed" to be protecting me but their "protection" was merely cleaning up only cookies. Occasionally, they would identify an item that was on my computer that wanted to open at every start up and it would give me an option to allow or block it. Why did they not BLOCK IT FROM GETTING ON MY COMPUTER IN THE FIRST PLACE!!!

One time during the year this bugger showed up again and Mr. Ten Thumbs (me) accidentally hit the allow button OMG!!!
It was like it put a layer on top of my desktop. I was able to identify location of this critter and went to delete it. Wrong! The message said I couldn't delete it since it was running but there was no way cancel run mode. Anyway, I got this bad file to kinda go to sleep and my computing was semi-normal until I was approaching my renewal date. Once again I started having odd things happen om my computer. Once I passed my renewal date my computer has again started doing crazy things (unexpected shut downs, going to websites that I didn't direct it to, etc.). All the while Cyberdefender is is now in active mode saying I have all these new "cooties", some nasty, that need to be addressed and cyberdefender wants me to re-up to take care of them. Is it a coincidence that I started getting all this crap again? I THINK NOT!!! These crooks are at the core of my PC woes and should be hauled off to jail. They invade your system them want you to pay them to undo their mess. Justice Department, where the hell are you when the public needs you? Playing golf in Hawaii with Mr. Big??? I will copy this and send it on to you and 60 minutes too. Cyberdefender must be stopped!!!

Don't use

I am having the same problems as some above are mentioning. It like the holding me hostage. I have to go through them to get on my yahoo web page even though I haven't bought anything through them yet just download them and my clean pc for a free diagnoses. It like my problems can't be fix unless i go thru them.

cyberdefender on-line virus program

I paid for a nearly $400.00 for a 2 year installed cyberdefender and it worked for about 6 months then quit working, calling this company is really a pain you will spend at least 20 minutes on the phone pressing buttons to get to a "technician" and when you finally get to a "technician" all this person does is route your call to a "service technician" or tell you your problem can't be fixed for at least 3 days. Should you actually get through to a "service technician" they may or may not help you. In my case the "cyberdefender antivirus software" actually allowed 20 worms, various spy ware and 11 viruses to invade my computer, it was so messed up cyberdefender could not fix it so they installed "Windows Essentials" to protect my computer, well "Window Essentials" lasted about a month before it stopped working. When I contacted a Window Essential" "technician" I was told my computer was full of worms, viruses and malware. The "technician" asked me what I had been doing on my computer. I told him I love to play interned games and the only thing I had done was download some games. He informed me that Internet games all contained viruses, worms, spy ware and malicious software and since I had downloaded the games it was my fault my Windows Essentials had stopped working, but for 150.00 he could fix it for me . I asked the "technician" I have already purchase this software "why didn't it protect my computer" answer "Well we can't protect EVERYTHING. What the heck did I pay for I thought I bought full protection but what I found out was; the minute there is a virus or problem cyberdefender shuts down and quits working.
