3/16/12 is the last time that Cracker Barrel in Pearl Ms will get any of my hard earned money on food! I was with a large group of people and could have the same complaint as others about wait staff and time but I felt sorry for our waitress who was obviously new and overwhelmed. My complaint is with the food! The last time I ate there is was not very good, but last night was the worst!
I ordered the fried catfish. If you could call it a fillet, I had 2 small ones on my plate and 3 or 4 unidentifiable knots of other fish pieces. The "fillets" were actually pieces of a much LARGER fish which meant they were rubbery. The "pieces", upon inspection, were BELLY JELLY meat pieces which I would no doubt had fed to the dogs! Who can call belly pieces fish fillets...that stuff needs to be in cat food somewhere. This was NOT nice FARM RAISED CATFISH FILETS that anyone should expect out of Mississippi restaurants! The corn meal used on the fish was flat and the hush-puppies were almost quarter sized balls of grease! I do not even think I can blame the Chef! Shame on the Manager for not inspecting what comes out of the kitchen AND for not demanding better quality cuts of meat from the Cracker Barrel chain! SHAME ON YOU CRACKER BARREL! I hate to think that people travelling through the state that might stop there and eat that "catfish" ...how utterly SHAMEFUL! I did not complain at the restaurant last night because it was full of people. I was so disappointed that I could not have complained nicely or softly. Folks in the surrounding counties would have heard me. Hopefully the whole state will hear this! What a disservice to our catfish industry! I quit eating beef years ago so I really enjoy catfish. I could see this stuff turning a visitors taste against catfish! ugh! Done with Cracker
Barrel!!

exactly true. if you try and tell a manager your bacon is or anything is burned, or your plate looks sloppy, the manger just says "it's not burned" or "just take it out and if they say anything we will get them a new order" why would i want to take out crappy food? why would the manager want me to take out crappy food? do they not want people to come back? hellllllooooo. i would wish managers would act like managers.
