Intentionally Defrauding Public

I purchased three and have just received the results. As I've traced my family tree back GENERATIONS I am well aware of what my results should reflect. There was absolutely nothing in common with my family's heritage. I did mine BC I wanted a base line to see how correct the results actually are BC I also did them for my two adopted sons (brothers) so they felt they had something for themselves. Imagine my surprise when I found that they were also wrong AND different from even each other. Funny how that happens with Irish twins,huh? I initially requested a second test because I knew that it was definitely off even a dna base. Knowing where the most modern world dna baselines should be imagine my surprise when I received the following blanketed can you say BS: ConnectMyDNA is not an true and accurate depiction of where my dna is most prevalent.

ConnectMyDNA utilizes current databases that represent the modern world population structure. One’s unique DNA signature is used to calculate the frequency of occurrence of one’s DNA profile with different population databases from around the world using a standard population genetics formula known as the Hardy-Weinberg equation. The numerical value of the different calculations identifies one’s top country connection. One’s top country connection represents the population that one most closely resembles based on today’s demographics, not one’s past. Since this test is not an ancestry test, the population groups with the most similarity to one’s DNA Profile merely represent an interesting correlation, not an indication of one’s heritage or ancestry.

Unlike an Ancestry test that delves into past human migration patterns and one’s personal heritage, ConnectMyDNA compares one’s personal genetic markers to our database to determine which population group one most closely resembles. Because our database is organized by geographic regions whose individual populations share similar patterns of identifying DNA markers, it means one is connected to them in the same fashion that they are connected to each other. In some cases, one’s Country Connection may be what one expected, but because of the rate of recent modern human migration, one may have some unexpected results.

Lastly, the most common misunderstanding is that some individuals are comparing ConnectMyDNA to an ancestry product and wondering why their results show something very different given that we all have some knowledge and expectation of our heritage. ConnectMyDNA isn't about examining ancestry and our results do not state where a person or their ancestors are from. What we do is take one’s 13 specific markers and put them through a science based formula for population genetics, and then compare them to population databases to show one their most probable matches based on the modern world, not the past. These 13 markers are compared to the same markers of populations in different parts of the globe. As you may know, there is a very small fragment, less than 1%, of our DNA this is unique. This means at least 99% of our human DNA is identical to the rest of the human race. So, it is more than possible that we share some commonality with other individuals of the world.

Now, I responded: DO YOU ACTUALLY EVEN BEGIN TO BELIEVE THAT THIS IS AN ACCEPTABLE RESPONSE. I KNOW WHERE I CAME FROM AND IT WASN'T ANYWHERE CLOSE TO WHAT WAS SENT. I DID IT AS A BASELINE FOR THE OTHER TWO.

DON'T GIVE ME CRAP THAT IT COULD EVEN BEGIN TO BE ASSOCIATED WITH ANOTHER AREA OTHER THAN THE TWO ... IT DOESN'T EVEN BEGIN TO ACKNOWLEDGE MY REAL DNA SIGNATURE... I WILL TAKE THIS FURTHER AND I DO WANT TO ESCALATE THE COMPLAINT TO THE CORPORATE LEVEL. YOU CAN MAKE IT EASIER AND PROVIDE THE INFORMATION, OR MAKE IT MORE DIFFICULT FOR ME AND NOT.... BUT YOU CAN BELIEVE THAT I WILL MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS THE BS THAT I'M GETTING.................
