we were recently bought by coast dental formerly smile care dental here in California. due to so many lies and threats from our new higher ups. i decided to google my new company and this is what i have found.. a lot of negative reviews. this page alone has opened my eyes to find a new job i keep waiting for the dust to settle thinking all the negative is due to the conversion but I'm realizing this is it it will not get better it is what it is...what a shitty company to work for

By not wanting to "get into it" ( your long list of complaints) it is not clear if the issues you experienced apply only to you, or are indicative of applying to patients in general. Even one concrete example would have been helpful.

RIP-OFF
This place is horrible! They told me that I had 3 cavities when I didn't. The one cavity that they filled fell out twice and now they want to put a crown on it. Seriously? For a typical small cavity? My brother-in-law is a dentist in St. Louis. When I saw him over the holidays he told me that a crown was totally unnecessary and that he hears complaints about this franchise often.

Customer Relations
I had the same thing happen with my appointment. I showed up and they told me that they called me to reschedule it. I had no missed calls or messages. However, this would of been the 3rd time that they rescheduled me. I explained that I had taken time off of work to make this appointment. They told me the "hygienist" would squeeze me in. After waiting almost an hour, they fit me in. To my surprise, the dental assistant did my "cleaning", not the hygienist. I did not got x-rays like I am supposed to get. I had to pay $45 out of pocket to get my teeth polished. They did not floss my teeth and no fluoride. I have a cavity that I did not get looked at. I have gum recession that they "fixed" for me. They made it worse and was told I could have lost my teeth because of their "fix." And it never fails that I end up getting a bill from them. I check my eob online and there is never even a claim filed with them. They are a rip off!! I could write pages on my bad experiences with these people. I am changing my dental insurance and will be getting a new dentist.

I see how Patient Relations posts their apologies, don't be fooled they do not show this level of concern when dealing with the customer, its all for show on here.
They have the worst customer service from the office all the way up to their Corporate offices

terrible service
Their Patient relations office does not do anything for customers besides what they are doing on here. They say I'm sorry you feel that way, we strive to provide excellent patient care and customer service each and every time.
News Flash, your not providing quality customer service, I have spoken to patient relations several times and have yet to get resolution . I am still dealing with billing issues after being greatly overcharged .

I read the reviews after I made the appt for my husband and almost cancelled I should have. My husband is 62 years old and had not been to a dentist in 20 years. they said his teeth were not bad. then they proceeded to finish the exam and hand him an estimated bill that amounted to over $6, 000.00 dollars that our insurance did not pay. The statement also said that was an estimate and could end up more. All we want is for them to take care of the teeth that were bothering him and maybe a cleaning. I guess he does have some periodontal disease so they want to laser his teeth and give him all kinds of treatments and come back every 3 months so they can do whatever. I guess you know we are not going back, I will be lucky to get him to go to another dentist. Thanks Coast Dental you really didn't help. Thank You to the people who wrote reviews for because of them I told my husband not to sign any papers until I saw them. I didn't want him to commit to anything but I shouldn't have worried because when he saw the bill he came out and said there is NO WAY!!! I would not recommend them to anyone. Oh this was the one on Lakeland Highlands Rd, Lakeland Fl

Unetical Practices
Coast dentist recommended two crowns on my front teeth even though all I needed was a filling. They completly botched the color and fit of the crowns and after 10 months they are still not correct and do not fit. Coast has failed to take responsibility for their actions and they also fail to return call as promised. With Coast, it is all about the money and to hell with the patient.
Stay away from these bozo's if you need more than a simple filling.

Horrible Customer Service
When I switched insurance in the beginning of October, I was told I could not make an appointment until November when the new rosters arrived. I expressed concern that there would be no available appointments if I waited and asked, repeatedly, to let me book an appointment for early November because I was leaving for the holidays at the end of the month. I asked them to book me and cancel the appointment if my name did not appear on the November insurance roster. They would not do so and assured me it would not be a problem because I could book an appointment right away for early November. So when November finally shows up and I'm on the roster, I am told they cannot see me until the end of November... when I explicitly said I would be out of town. In short, I have been trying to book an appointment since October, was told it would be no problem to get an appointment early November, and now I am told it will have to wait until December.
