Customer Service Issues
Worst case scenario is they put a lien on your house (depending on what your loan was for), or they file a 1099 on you and what you owe them turns into taxable income that you will owe the IRS for. Or pay them a settlement and try to save what's left of your credit.
They do NOT have attorneys in their collections department. They outsource for attorneys and are very stingy about wanting to pay for attorney representation.

If you value your financial well being do not do business with this ripoff company. They have in my opnion found a legal way to steal from the americal people. Stay away from them.

Collection Practices- Ignores my calls and request for statement of charges
I have been attempting to contact Carmel financial for approximately 5 months now. I contacted them in attempt to settle or pay debt. The number they company gave me is an answer machine. I ask for a statement of charges and it is ignored. I have never spoken to anyone. I call and an answer machine picks up. I have received an email in response with a "deal". The deal was more than the cost reflected in the prior two years of credit reports I have. I asked them why and it has been ignored. Their response was to report to the credit bureau that I owe not one account but two with them. The new second one with cost exceeding both the original and deal without explanation. I have only one debt with them of 2,300. Now my credit reports says I owe this company nearly 6,000 dollars. I am being bullied. I am the one contacting them, attempting to settle or pay, but with a statement of sorts for record. I get ignored and pushed around so whenever I finally speak to them I will be desperate to pay anything as I won't know when the next time will be. These business practices are unethically and immoral. I was, along with other soldiers, lied to in purchasing laptops that our government college scholarships were to pay off. We were reassured this. It was a hoax and the kiosk was shut downed. Now, I along with others owe thousands of dollars for a mediocre laptop bought five years ago. The company refusing to give me a statement of charges so they can continue to charge me late fees!

unfair and bullies
This company is a joke...we have a loan from 15 years ago and we made our payments till they started harassing me constantly at work for being a month behind.. after that I quit trying to work with them. they where told several times by myself and my personal office that I was not to receive calls at work..
Needless to say these ruthless company came and took the one thing we actually own. 1969 Camaro.. this car has been in the family for a long time..and they took it. the original bill I owed was close to 5000 dollars and now its up to almost 1,700. how the heck does that work...they wont even work with us to pay them...
I would never in a million years have any one deal with this lying cheating conniving company.
