SCAM

They are listed under the Microsoft web-site as Service Repair and partners of Microsoft. They then offer to remotely scan your computer and setup a Service agreement for 3-4 years for any future problems. They then call back within a year to inform you of a Network problem that needs additional money to fix. Each time THEY call it is another problem (that you never detected) and another $799 to fix. Microsoft Co. said DO NOT ACCEPT IT.

SCAM

If you need to scan your computer for potential problems, ALWAYS call Microsoft directly and Do Not use any other Technician to remote-repair your computer. BEST TECH 247 and many others out there, will use scare-tactics to get your money.

Total scam

Tried to install Microsoft Office on my NEW computer. Having trouble, I called the number on the package. This sent me to India. I asked if they were Microsoft techs and they assured me they were. After running a scan on my new computer they found many problems. $400.00 later my Office was installed and the problems fixed. I kept asking how could I have so many problems when I just purchased this computer. I now had a two year security and tech support contract. My computer was so slow I used my iPad for most computing. Forward one year I get a call from them telling me to call to fix a problem. I didn't call. I purchased a new printer and was having trouble installing it so I called Best Tech 24/7 for their support that I had already paid for. They ran a scan and said my computer had been hacked and to fix 18 problems at $80 a pop it would cost $1440. I said I had paid for support last year so Jenny immediately reduced it to $999.99. I said no way. I have always thought that they had put malware in my computer with the original call. I had a local service look at my computer and after two hours on deleting malware and still it ran sooo slowly the tech guy took it in and put in all new "guts". Now it runs beautifully - which it never did. This group in a total scam. I don't know how their phone number ended up on the Microsoft Office package - maybe a counterfeit from Staples?

Ms

A month ago I turned on my laptop and all kinds of junk was popping up. An error message that looked official popped up and would not go way. It told me to call the Microsoft number that it provided. So I did. After three hours on the phone and hundred of dollars later it was supposedly fixed. Starting last week they have been "courtesy calling" me. The first time I said yeah everything good. Then today they have been harassing me with numerous phone calls. Originally I was skeptic of them, but just desperate for the fix so I could use my computer. And I thought it was legit. But then it seemed odd that they keep calling me, even after I told them to stop. They are making it sound urgent and that I need to pay them so they can fix whatever on my laptop. Honestly, I have not been on my laptop since the day they originally supposedly helped me. They have called me at least ten times today, the last one being at 10:13pm. I'm in bed sleeping, really?! How do I get them to stop harassing me with the phone calls?

They use malicious pop-ups to trap you into buying their help

Best Tech 247, Inc. ( located in Mineola, NY, also has offices in NYC and India) is using a malicious pop-up which freezes your screen and misleads you into thinking you have been infected by a virus.

This occurred to me recently when I was browsing the internet. The phone # given to call was 888-264-8616. When I called, they (Best Tech 247) proceeded to convince me that my entire network had been infected, and any other devices I connected to it would also be infected, and only they could fix it. They also warned me not to turn it off, and that the Geek Squad would be unable to fix it.

Unfortunately, I allowed them access to my computer, through logmein123. Once they had control, they advised me I would have to pay $299.99 for it to be fixed. They ran some fake tests (using prefetch and netstat tools) to convince me something was wrong with my computer.

They then uploaded free browers and extensions, and reinstalled my Norton Security. Another words they did nothing of value.

I am currently disputing the charge with my bank (they have turned it over to their fraud unit) and I also have the Geek Squad diagnosing what has happened to my computer, which will cost me another $200.

They all use false english names, but are obviously Indian. The names given were: David Gail, Henry MIller, Kevin Gray, Eddie Williams.

Their location on their website is listed as 22 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 108, Mineola, NY 11501 When I called them, I told them I would be reporting them to law enforcement,. They agreed to a full refund immediately, and indicated I should have it re-credited in my account in 3 - 4 business days. I have not received anything from them.

Best Tech 247 has reported different addresses to regulatory agencies and has not disclosed publicly their ownership. THere are also several complaints on the internet regarding their scamming activities.

According to Best Tech 247 Inc's website and Linked in accounts list their address as: Best Tech 247 Inc. 22 Jericho Turnpike, Suite 108 Mineola, NY 11501. However ..... The NY DOS (which lists all businesses in the state) lists the address as: BEST TECH 247 INCORPORATED 82-55 260TH ST GLEN OAKS The BBB lists their address as: Best Tech 247 Inc 65 Country Village Ln # 65, Mineola, NY 11501
