Fraudulent company

This company is a fraud and attempts to take advantage of veterans and their families. Don't do any business with them. Remember, if it sounds to good to be true, it usually is.

Fraudulent company

THIS COMPANY IS A FRAUD AND DOES NOT REGISTER W/BBB. THAT SAYS IT ALL.
Don't let this company take adavantage of you. I could tell in the first 30 seconds on the phone with them that they were a sham. Anytime a company does not want to provide you with details over the phone it's a scam.
I can't stand the fact they they are using the veterans pitch. I've filed a formal complaint with the Texas ATTN general's office.

Stay away from these guys

I filed out all of the paperwork. The loan application and everything but when it came down to a giving him some some I said no. He got on the phone with his boss and tried to talk to me. I stated that I wasn't trying to by a Kirby (the same experience you get with the vacuum company) and he got offended. The guy left with no money but he did leave with my paperwork. SSNs and everything. Now I'm worried about ID theft. I am wondering if I should do something about that?

I went through the process a couple of days ago. The payoff on my current loan was 153000, to refi with them meant I would have to pay 9K in fees so I'd have to finance 163+k. According to their chart (which they will NOT leave with you) at 7 years my payoff would be about 130K. & 7 years from now if I leave my note alone, my payoff will be around 130k. So what's the diff? somebody got my 9K. Now if I was refinancing the 153 without 9K in fees, it might have been different. My biggest turn off tho was the high pressure. When I say no, and it has to go thru several layers of people trying to convince me, it reminds me of a timeshare sale I got sucked into once.

Fraudulent company

One sunday I got a call (should've known this was a serious red flag because who calls you on a sunday) from Amerigroup (Love Time Warner Cable, the display shows on the TV) informing me of this great deal and for a few moments of my time they could lower my interest rate significantly. The representative asked when was I available within the next week. I gave a couple days and he came back with times. In a hurry to get off the phone I agreed. He then stated that his boss would need to confirm my appointment. a more aggressive representative comes on the line to not only confirm the appointment but tells me to make sure I had all the home documents and to make sure my husband was home for the appointment. The appointment day came and I called to cancel my appointment. The rescheduled. The next week I completely forgot about the appointment and my door bell rings. I didn't know who it was until I looked out the window. Not only did he come early than the confirmed time he waited for almost 45 minutes outside my house. Now really who would do this if it wasn't a scam. These people are fraud the homeowners, people who work hard for their homes. I have searched several websites for amerigroup and complaint after complaint on every website. Something must be done about these companies preying on homeowners just to make a buck. Thankfully I read, and researched before i made a terrible mistake. I actually remember the representative being excited to hear I that I was a Veteran, and that I hadn't refinanced my home. I must be a prime target for the taking. Yep he is still sitting out there in his car and it is 9pm. Really are they serious. Is this how Veterans are treated? WOW So glad I didn't answer the door.

Stay away from these guys

I had my Amerigroup "experience" yesterday. Rep showed up on time and set up her presentation. I asked up front if this was an adjustable rate mortgage and she said just wait, all my questions would be answered in her presentation. I explained I had been caught up in the Countrywide ARM thing and was in NO way interested in repeating that experience. If she was only talking about an ARM, we were done. Four and a quarter hours later, she finally left. I assured her I would be doing further research on the comapny and she said she expected nothing less. I guess she hears that a lot and folks don't follow through, but my training is as an investigator (told her that too) and I WOULD be checking up on the company and the product. After checking the BBB website and seeing they're NOT with BBB, I found that they have a B- rating with BBB because of complaints, mostly sales/advertising. Then I went to their own site and found all these negative posts about the sales pitch and realized this was NOT a good deal. I had all the questions about how much would the closing costs be, what's the rate and how long is it good for, can I use the "savings" for other things like my retirement planning (yes, of course), etc. VERY high pressure. Run as fast as you can from these people. They're onl in it to make a fast buck and don't really care about the veterans. Their "Thank you for your service" is just eyewash. Many thanks to others who have posted on this site. You've helped save me from a VERY bad decision. God bless you all!

Stay away from these guys

My husband and I were BOMBARDED with mail and phone calls from this company until finally we caved in last week. Initially we thought this was going to be a good deal because we would save 187.00 per month and have a lower interest rate for 3 years, then the loan would only go up or down based on the rate that banks pay interest on checking and savings accounts. It all sounded good until we saw the price we were paying for buying down our rate and the other closing cost. It came to over 12, 000 dollars !! It would have put us upside down on our home and we would not have re-cooperated our money for longer than we planned on being stationed here. It was NOT a good loan for us, but they insisted it was. They have a hard time taking no for an answer and they try to lure you with the chance to skip making a payment for one month and getting a check for your escrow. I'll admit it was tempting to take the bait, but we didn't. We would rather be able to sell our house when the time comes in a couple years or so. I just warn everyone that these guys are real pushy and very cleaver with words.

Fraudulent company

I am a current serving military soldier and I took this loan from MIC and the guy who came out was honest for every question I asked. Maybe they have been retrained or something but I never experienced any of the issues I have read here. I did my homework on them before hand taking in account all of what I found and to test it out, I also looked at regular banks too and seen just as many complaints so it is what it is. I knew going into it that it was a 3/1 hybrid. I also knew that the VA will NOT ALLOW an interest rate on this loan increase more than 1% in a year but cannot exceed 5 points total anyways. Now, after the 38 months, this is where it can increase. But think about it. With the stagnant economy, it wouldn't make sense to raise interest rates on the housing market or it would make the situation worse. Look at the history of the home loan interest rates for the last 30 years or longer. I highly doubt there will be a spike in interest rates anytime soon. In fact, for the last 30 years, interest rates on all home loans have plummeted ( http://www.mortgagenewsdaily.com/mortgage_rates/charts.asp ) so look if you don't believe me. Raising rates would plunge us into a depression and no one wants that. Despite the assclowns in Washington making dumb decisions on the economy, none of them want us losing our homes. Businesses would in turn lose money, laying off even more people, and so on. So what that MIC is "accredited" by the BBB. They are ranked a B- at BBB which isnt bad to be honest. I'm sure they had pushy sales people but the guy I had was professional and not shady at all. Just so any of you know I am not a "rep" or employee, feel free to contact me with any questions regarding my experience with MIC. I'll be totally honest. [email protected] (yes i'm an ARMY commissioned officer).

We went thru the same thing but signed the papers, so once we started looking at the paperwork we are having serious doubts. Does anyone know how we can cancel before they set the closing date?

To the Amerigroup agents who've provided comments I'd like to ask a question. How do you sleep at night working for a company like this. Before you start to object let me explain the difference between an up-front organization and the one you represent. I'm a retired USAF Lt Col who now sells Real Estate in Los Angeles. I'm very particular about the loan officers I work with. Whenever we talk to clients or send out advertisements we are always straight up and honest about who we are and what we can do for people. Now, look at your company. First, you send out letters saying "Important Financial Documents Enclosed, " when what is actually enclosed is a solicitation. The current law that allows this misleading type of advertisement is being amended to prevent scams where companies are trying to get consumers to open mail they assume is information related to their own taxes, but is just solicitation. Second, nowhere on your letter does it say who you represent. One must call and ask for the company's name. Anyone who chooses to be associated with such a company is as despicable as their company. If you truly want to help veterans hook on with someone reputable. Oh, and here's a memo to all the veterans who are looking to save money. There are NO VA programs available only to Amerigroup. ALL of us in the Real Estate business know what's available to the public. What you want to look for is an agent & loan officer who will be honest and up-front with you from the get-go and not waste yours and their time with playing shell games or scams to get a deal. The majority of my (as well as the loan officers I deal with) business comes from referrals. Ask your friends and go with that. Don't trust companies that have to mislead & trick you into calling them.

Fraudulent company

I received the flyer, like many of you. I called to inquire about the offer and was asked many personal questions; was I the Vet, was I married, was there a second mortgage and was my payments up to date. I also asked was this a fixed loan and was told it was. I was told I needed to make an appointment with their loan officer. I made the appointment and then I decided to check online for any complaints and found this site. After reading all the comments and complaints, I decided to call and cancel my appointment. I called to cancel and they wanted to know why, I share with them I did not feel comfortable with their business practice and what I had read online. He became very defensive and raised his voice and question why I would listen to what people had to say online. I said have a good evening and hung up the phone!!!
Thanks for posting your comments!!!

We received an offer to refi from this company in the mail and the first thing I did was to check them out online. My cat has now shredded their offer.
