Consumer reviews about American Cash Awards

is it a scam??

I just paid over $50 cash to a couple "pre-college program" guys who shoved all kinds of glossy, laminated lists of super expensive magazines at me. After reading above comments re: cancellation & refund nightmares, I'm not sure what to do. And BTW, I believe the company was listed in St Petersburg, FL in this particular instance. The "sponsor" name in my encounter was the same: American Cash Awards. Has anyone found valid contact info on this place's website? AFAIK, the first line of defense in such cases would be both the consumer's local and the company's local BBB. Next would be the consumer's state Attorney General's office. However in this case, I believe a lawsuit may be warranted.

Such a screwy scam

I was woken up early this morning by a guy named Dave Meyers, claiming to be calling from the post office in Zeeland, MI. He insisted that he was from Jamaica. (Didn't sound Jamaican to me) He wanted to know if I would be home today to sign for a package. I didn't order anything that required my signature. What tipped me off was "Dave" kept calling me sweetheart. I took great offense to that intimate name. I asked him for the name of his company, he then told me the package was from American Cash Awards. I then asked for a telephone number and an address. I informed him that I needed to make a phone call. I hung up and called my local post office. The postmaster confirmed it was a scam. I called back the number that was given to me and the voice mail stated that it was a texting number but I left 2 messages anyway. "Dave" called me back. He said, "Yes, you caught me. This is a scam." I told him to get an honest job like working at McDonald's . He then started to ask me about my income because I sounded smart. I refused to tell him. He then wanted to know if he could move in with me. I said NO! Then for the finally he asked me to put $20.00 on his cell phone. Again I told him that if he had an honest job he would get an honest paycheck so that he could pay his phone bill. I refused to give him money for his cell phone. He went on to tell me that his work Visa would be running out soon, he didn't want to go back to Jamaica and asked me if we could get married. I couldn't stop laughing at that one. I told him to become a legal US citizen then he wouldn't have to worry about his situation. That fell on deaf ears. He gave me his email address, if in fact this is a working email address, so here it is.....write to this scam artists: [email protected]
I swear that this story is 100% true. I have no reason to make up such a crazy story.

10.5 Million $ Giveaway Prize

So this speech impeded idiot, identifies himself as Travis Clifford, badge # 51162, calls and tells me he is with the American Cash Awards Giveaway Company and I have won $ 10.5 million, a 2019 custom Mercedes Benz, and a briefcase with $5,000 cash. So he wants me to go to the post office and get a money order for $ 2,500 and CVS for a $ 500 Amazon gift card. I tell him I will have to ride a bicycle to get there and that it will take me two days to get there and back He offers to send me a Uber but when he finds out the address he has is non existent, he has his CEO call back. So when Mr. John Skinner calls from phone # 516-388-6093 he hangs up when I call him out as a scamming piece of shit.
