Bad bad service

I OPENED A PLAN WITH WIND JUST UNDER 3 YEARS AGO AND THOUGHT "WOW, WHAT A DEAL" $40 + TAX UNLIMITED EVERYTHING INCLUDING CALLS TO THE US (IMPERATIVE TO ME). I NOTICED RIGHT AWAY THAT THE SERVICE 'IN' MY HOUSE WAS LACKING. NO RECEPTION OR I GOT CUT OFF OF CALLS. I DISCOVERED THAT UNLESS I WAS IN MY DRIVEWAY THE SERVICE WAS LESS THAN ACCEPTABLE. I CONTACTED WIND AND THEY ADVISED ME THAT THEY WERE PIGGYBACKING OFF OF OTHER CELL TOWERS AND THEY WOULD BE PUTTING TOWERS IN MY AREA SOON. THIS WASN'T TOLD TO ME WHEN I GOT THE PLAN, BUT OK, I THOUGHT I'D BE PATIENT (SINCE IT WAS SUCH A DEAL) AND WAIT. EVERY TIME I NEEDED TO USE THE PHONE, I WENT OUTSIDE, NOT ENJOYABLE, BUT WOULDN'T BE FOR TOO MUCH LONGER. EVERY TIME I WENT TO PAY MY BILL I WOULD ASK THE REP WHEN THE TOWERS WERE BEING INSTALLED "SOON, PLEASE BE PATIENT WITH US, I HEARD THAT THEY WILL BE INSTALLED IN YOUR AREA SOON" OK, I HEARD THE SAME COMMENT IN DIFFERENT MANNERS AND KEPT HANGING IN THERE, BECAUSE "I GOT A DEAL". SUCH A GOOD DEAL THAT I REFERRED MY SISTER, MY SON (WHO LIVES IN VICTORIA BC) AND A FEW FRIENDS. COME TO FIND OUT MY SON HAD NO SERVICE EITHER AND GOT THE SAME RESPONSE, "COMING SOON" OK, WE ARE BOTH VERY PATIENT PEOPLE SO WE HUNG ON AND WANTED TO BELIEVE IN THE COMPANY, AFTER ALL, I GOT SUCH A GOOD DEAL. THEN 2.5 YEARS INTO MY TAB CONTRACT (OH YES IT IS A CONTRACT, IF YOU THINK IT ISN'T - PAY THE TAB OUT OR PAY THE CONTRACT OUT, NO DIFFERENT), I RECEIVE AN INVOICE FOR $130 + WHEN NORMALLY MY BILL WOULD BE $40 + TAX MONTHLY, NEVER CHANGED ALL THESE MONTHS....SO WHAT HAPPENED, I HAVE AN UNLIMITED PLAN? I CALLED WIND AND SPOKE WITH A GREAT REP WHO AGREED WITH ME AND SAID HE WOULD SEND THE INFORMATION TO THE BACK OFFICE TEAM TO HAVE THE CHARGES REVERSED. AWESOME! NEXT MONTH THE INVOICE STILL REFLECTS THE DATA CHARGE AND REMAINS OUTSTANDING. I CALL WIND AGAIN AND SPEAK WITH ANOTHER REP, WHO AGAIN AGREES WITH ME AND ADVISED HE WILL SEND THE INFORMATION TO THE BACK OFFICE TEAM TO HAVE AN ADJUSTMENT APPLIED TO MY ACCOUNT. HE ALSO LOOKED UP MY ADDRESS AND CONFIRMED THAT I AM IN AN AREA THAT IS APPLICABLE TO THE UNLIMITED PLAN. GREAT! WHAT A NICE GUY! NEXT MONTHS BILL COMES AND THE ADDITIONAL CHARGES ARE 'STILL' REFLECTED AS OUTSTANDING. I THEN GO TO THE WIND STORE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE IN PERSON. THEY TOO AGREE THE CHARGES SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN APPLIED AFTER SHE TOOK A LOOK AT THE MAP, IDENTIFIED MY ADDRESS WAS IN THE RIGHT 'ZONE' AND SHE WOULD SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR THIS TIME TO HAVE IT REVERSED. THE SUPERVISOR ASKS TO SPEAK WITH ME AND EXPLAINS THAT MY HOUSE IS IN A 'ROAMING OR AS THEY SAY AWAY ZONE'. OH, DID I MOVE MY HOUSE THAT MONTH, BECAUSE THE PREVIOUS MONTHS I WAS 'IN THE ZONE'? THIS I DEBATED AND ADVISED THAT I NEVER PAID FOR DATA SERVICE, I NEVER HAD DATA SERVICE OR CELL PHONE USAGE BECAUSE THERE WERE NO WIND TOWERS IN MY AREA SO THE PIGGYBACKING SCHEME WASN'T WORKING, BUT INSTEAD, I CHOSE TO STAY LOYAL AND WAIT. SO WHERE DID THE DATA SERVICE COME FROM? I'M CONFUSED. SHE SAID THAT SHE COULD OFFER ME A $25 CREDIT TO WHICH I DECLINED, THEN A $50 CREDIT, TO WHICH I DECLINED. I WAS NOT GOING TO PAY FOR A SERVICE I DIDN'T USE AND FRANKLY I SHOULDN'T HAVE PAID THE $40 EVERY MONTH WHEN IT DIDN'T WORK IN MY HOUSE, BUT I UNDERSTOOD I SIGNED UP AND MADE THE CHOICE TO WAIT AND KEEP PAYING. I LET HER KNOW THAT AS A SUPERVISOR SHE SHOULD BE ABLE TO WAIVE THE FEES AND IF SHE LOOKED MY HOUSE UP ON THE MAP AS THE OTHER REPS DID SHE TOO WOULD SEE THAT I LIVED 'IN THE ZONE'. SO SHE PUT ME ON HOLD AND THEN CAME BACK AND SAID I WAS OUT OF TOWN AND THAT'S WHAT THE ROAMING CHARGES WERE BASED ON. I WAS NEVER OUT OF TOWN, I NEVER USED THE PHONE, OK, I TRIED, IN HOPES IT WOULD WORK IN MY HOUSE AND NOW I'M GETTING ANOTHER STORY. SO, I LET HER KNOW I WOULD PAY THE OUTSTANDING MONTHLY FEE OF $40 + TAX BUT WILL NOT PAY THE DATA SERVICE PORTION. I ALWAYS PAY MY BILLS AND WOULD NEVER TAKE ADVANTAGE OR TRY TO CON MY WAY OUT OF PAYING A BILL, ESPECIALLY WHEN I DIDN'T RECEIVE THE SERVICE. I THEN LET THE SUPERVISOR KNOW THAT I TOO AM A SUPERVISOR AND ITS A SHAME TO HEAR THAT THE COMPANY DOES NOT TRUST HER ENOUGH TO WAIVE SUCH A SMALL AMOUNT. THAT'S SAD! I THEN REQUESTED SHE CLOSE MY ACCOUNT AND I'LL TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. SHE THEN LET ME KNOW THAT I STILL HAVE 4 MONTHS ON MY TAB THAT I WILL NEED TO PAY BEFORE IT CAN BE CLOSED. ISN'T THAT THE SAME AS A CONTRACT.........YES.....SO ISN'T THAT FALSE ADVERTISING WHEN ITS JUST CALLED SOMETHING ELSE....YOU HAVE TO BREAK THE CONTRACT OR PAY FOR THE TAB....WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE? BOTH WORK OUT TO THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME (3 YEARS).

TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE THIS GREAT COMPANY HAS SENT THE SMALL AMOUNT TO COLLECTIONS AND EQUIFAX AND IT HAS NOW AFFECTED MY CREDIT, OF WHICH HAS ALWAYS BEEN EXEMPLARY.

I AM REQUESTING AREVERSAL OF THESE CHARGES AND THE REPORT TO EQUIFAX BE RESCINDED. I HAVE BEEN PATIENT ALL THESE YEARS WAITING FOR YOUR TOWERS, PAYING THE MONTHLY CHARGE AND STILL NOT RECEIVING THE SERVICES THAT WERE PROMISED TO ME WHEN I SIGNED UP. I ALSO WAS NEVER TOLD THAT MY HOUSE SAT IN A 'ROAMING/AWAY' ZONE. IF I KNEW, WHY WOULD I BE STUPID ENOUGH TO SIGN UP AND GET THAT 'GREAT DEAL'?
