I had a similar situation with USLAC. My husband and I had contacted them in I believe the March of 2009 after our ARM went up and we couldn't get a refinance due to the house not being worth what we owed. We couldn't afford the increased payment. USLAC told us to stop making the monthly payments and they would work with our mortgagor. We gathered up the information they need, filled out the paperwork, even signed a release for them to talk to our mortgagor on our behalf. Every time we received a letter from the mortgagor we'd call our contact person at USLAC Cory. At first either him or someone else would call us and tell us to ignore the letter it was just part of the process. When we got a letter about foreclosure they wanted us to fax it to them. This went on until we received a foreclosure notice from the sheriff's office in Jan of 2010. We called USLAC and the number just kept ringing, we tried two other number and they too just continued to ring no voicemail, no message, just rang. We contacted our mortgagor, they stated the only contact they has gotten from USLAC in the past almost nine months was an authorization for them to discuss our loan on our behalf. We made an agreement with the mortgage company to stop the foreclosure and shelled out our entire tax check and agreed to an even higher increased payment. After doing this for several months we were so deep in debt and behind in other bills we had to move. Our home is now in foreclosure up for sheriff's sale next month. We are even still now suffering the ripple affects from what USLAC did to us. And to rub salt into the wound around March of 2010 we received a letter from USLAC stating although they had been working diligently on our behalf with our mortgage company they were unable to help us secure a modification and they themselves had no choice but to file bankruptcy due to the new law in California. Oh and they gave us a CD that I believe was supposed to have information on financial assistance or something. The CD was blank. They knew exactly what they were doing. Scam a lot of people out of their money for a few years, then when the water gets hot file under bankruptcy protection so they won't have to be accountable.

hmmm I thought I was going to have them problems but the last minute they came thru uslac and had almost 500$ month knocked off the payment that went on for six months since then payment has climbed back up but only about 160$ monthly I was thinking about hiring them again I remember speaking with cory but he was not my rep I believe it was Jason & woman work on mine which I can't remember her name she was a very busy lady I believe she done most of the work in the case although I have herd of these stories on dealing with company's in the modification process I was pretty careful before chosen them I guess I am surprised to here all these bad reviews.I am going to disagree but after dealing with mortgage company's I am pretty careful before dealing with company's beneficial who I am still with down out right lied to me along with two other banks I signed under the beliefs that my payment was locked in and would never change the fine print on page 23 or something says different I never be happy with any mortgage company's.

ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION!!!
I also had a very similar situation with most of you:
-USLAC asked for payment in advance
-USLAC advised me to stop paying my mortgage (which in effect forced me into foreclosure)
-USLAC disappeared with my money
Some people I dealt with: Omar Awad, Yasmin Ahmed, Tracy Caton.
Something needs to be done here. I've created an email account at [email protected]
If you or someone you know, was ripped off by USLAC, please please please, email me your story/details/how much you left. We need to start compiling information to build a case. Let's get our money back. Together we can.
