i totally agree Tingdene homes are just awful .My home has had nothing but problems since it was delivered in Feb 2010 and Ive now discovered through the net and going to speak to other Tingdene owners that there aftersales and i have to say quality of there homes are terrible.I have pictures emails and letters to back up what i am saying. Im now 2 years down the line with a home that for 10 months has had water leaking into the wood and getting under the stucco which they have not yet repaired. They have tried three times and have not yet been able to solve the problem so I have a bare piece of board showing which is about 10cm by 90cm long .For 1) it is very embarrising and 2) its drove me into depression and I have bald patches in my hair due to stress 3) i have lost over 2 weeks holiday days from work which i have had to keep using for them to attend to the problems and they also let you down without notice . I am 32 years old and i dread to think what type of toll this would take on an elderly person who just wants comfort and easy living when the retire to a park home,

Tingdene do have many satisfied customers and any one who has an interest in reading good reports/letters on the high standards of workmanship and service levels that Tingdene have recieved over the past 6 months should email sales @tingdene.co.uk . Tingdene does appologise to clients who have waited longer than they should for works to be completed in certain situations and do their up most to make sure this does not happen.

We also have just purchased a new Tingdene home. Once they had our money they were able to treat us any way they wished. For six months we have asked for and been granted a delivery date of 20th March. Then we heard from one Laurence Boyle and everything went to pot. First he pursuaded us to have it delivered earlier. We re-arranged all our contractors such as builder, sparks, plumber, LPG gasman, etc. Then the boyle (as we call him) is back on the phone changing our delivery date back to where it originally was. No reason or explanation given. He does not answer his e-mails. Next we know they move us back again and one Stephanie Clements is on the e-mail clammering for money. No reply from her to our e-mails either. Next they move us back yet again. By now our contractors are having a fit with us and its not our fault, or their's. Some three weeks after its delivery we are still awaiting confirmation of its impending delivery!
Bits are missing which we have pointed out but no response - Surprise surprise. No welcome letter either. Seems everyone at Tingdene is leaving. We were told someone left under a cloud but we can not say why. That Nick Burgess was copied into every one of our dozen or so e-mails but we never heard a word from him. "Sales Executive" he styles himself as well!!!
Build quality is not what it should be, or anywhere near it. I wil need to spend goodness only knows how much time under the chalet putting in proper insulation before the winter, and put it in properly. They must think just because we can't see it it don't matter. Same applies to the loft. Large bare patches between the raffers and joists.
This is not what we expected from Tingdene. Rest assured homes two and three will not be Tingdene built.
One beacon of light in all this "Gloomdene" was the siters. LDG Parkhome Services. Great workers Lee, Ross and David. We found out more from them than we ever did from Tingdene. They worked hard. Turned our 45x20 home on a sixpence and finished it of a treat. We recommend LDG but get rid of Tingdene.

Tingdene Barnsdale lodge

We purchased a Tingdene Park home (50'x20' Barnsdale Lodge). This was purchased 20/07/2007 and delivered on the 26/11/2007. As the mentioned in other peoples complaints once they have your money(you have to pay up front or they don't deliver) they treat you like ****.
The transport company and siter was Titans Transport was informed by Tingdene homes this was the best company that they used to transport and site our home. We were not impressed with the siter's as they complained that the 25 metre entrance on to our site was not large enough for the lorry to get into, then when they were manoeuvring the two sides into position they collided into each other causing considerable damage to the exterior logs which then needed to be replaced, the siters then proceeded to connect the two sides together and it was pouring down with rain and they instructed a very young lad who had been working with them for only two weeks to go onto the roof and to do the connections and fit the ridge tiles in doing so he walked on the Decra Park tiles denting in excess of thirty tiles which at the time we did not know about. When the siter's had finished we had our own electrician and gas engineer commission the park home and we inspected the sited home, the faults were numerous (to many to list here). Our gas engineer found the the combi boiler was faulty so we could not move into our park home until after Christmas 2007 OVER A MONTH TO FIX A FAULTY BOILER.
Tingdene response its a wooden home and things do come adrift when the two sides are being transported.
We have 15 engineers job sheets that he left with us that's without the ones he took back (with notes on for the remedial work that still needed to be carried out), The first job sheet had 61 faults that needed to be rectified this was started in February 2008.
We have had most of the faults rectified to a fashion (and some of them are still on going) by an engineer that was called Darren the (bodge it man my Wife called him) who when was told about the dented roof tiles he said he was instructed to get on the roof drill holes in all the dented tiles insert a screw and pull the dent out then fill the screw hole with mastic which we were told by Tingdene was not the correct way to remedy the fault and sent him back to us to replace the tiles that he drilled with new ones in doing this he managed to rip the felt under the roof tiles by putting his foot through it in numerous places. We have had trouble with the roof ever since and it still leaks TODAY. The last visit by Tingdene engineers was in April 2010 a group of 4 of them to try and rectify the faults from day one and the new ones that was made by other engineers they did do most of the faults and it all looked great but then we have had torrential downpour's and the faults that were supposed to have been repaired are still in evidence.
We have managed to live with and rectify some of the faults ourselves even though I am over 60 years old but the roof fault has gradually got worse and now the water pours in through the roof and has damaged most of the ceilings and walls in our Park Home. The response that we have been getting is that your home is out of warranty and they have done everything that they needed to if we had spent more money and taken out there insurance we could have still been covered for the leaking roof that has been faulty from day one.
We live on a campsite that we own and was intending to buy more Tingdene park homes to fill our five acre site but after the fiasco with our own park home I don't think so and as for the HELPDESK it is the most unhelpful help desk that's in existence and the managers who say that they will call you back NEVER DO.(always seems to be in meetings when you try to contact them).
ARE WE HAPPY WITH OUR TINGDENE HOME.
WHAT DO YOU THINK??????

tingdene dolbin lodges

On the park where we live there are 5dolbin lodges aged between 5and8years old all 5 have the same problem water gettig in behind the succo outer coating by the windows we claim its either a fault or poor workmanship Tindene refuse correct the fault or pay compensation I Would pose the following question to tigdene if its not a fault or poor workmanship then at least have the decency to warn future home buyers that they can expect to pay 500pounds per window using workmen as recommended by tingdene Finally if using tingdenes help desk be prepared to show plenty of patience when they say they will ring you back it can take weeks

Tingdene Holiday Parks

If it's any consolation their holiday parks part of their business is just as bad!

Waterside park in Corton, Lowestoft did not provide the service that I bought into when I booked a holiday villa for a week long break. The accommodation they provided was appalling, bare plaster in areas, windows that did not fit the frames, grubby carpets smelling of urine, dangerous furniture, dirty walls and old and smelly bedding. Some of the fixings and furniture was simply dangerous with heating elements exposed on towel radiators, edge protection missing on carpets and face plates of mains electrical sockets loose. This holiday site is partially a building site and next door to us were staff living quarters which was detrimental to our holiday. Virtually all the properties on the site are for sale and many are mid way through refurbishment, meaning building materials strewn across the site. My kids got a stomach bug within a couple of days of our arrival and after that we left as soon as we could. I sent photos expressing that the accommodation was not as described (ie. described as high quality, home from home comforts) and wrote to the managers for a refund. I got a reply offering vouchers to spend with them I declined and further correspondence has led to an unsatisfactory acceptance of the issues and disinterest in my claim by both Tingdene who own them and the park themselves. Absolutely shambolic and total disinterest in their customers - gutted I spent just short of £1k with them for 2 villas for a week in the summer - would advise anyone with money to spend to keep well clear!!

Dreadful company

Tingdene are a dreadful company. They took over Kingsdown Park a few years back and have caused nothing but misery to the chalet owners there. They removed their postal service, upped their service charges, brought in a raft of horrible rules e.g. draconian check-in procedures. They were taken to tribunal and lost, were ordered to pay back monies and never did. They conspired with Kent County Council (KCC) to get full community charge levied, and yet they already pay for the services so they are paying twice! Now there is another tribunal where KCC need to justify the 100% community charge. In a word, Tingdene are dreadful. They are a spiteful and horrible company and I hope they go bankrupt. Music to my ears that they have financial problems in 2014. They've just sold the park in Kent to Michael Paul Holidays and one hopes this new company will be nicer and fairer to owners.

Dreadful Owners Committee

I feel I have to respond to "Dreadful Company" in the interests of balance and accuracy. When Tingdene purchased Kingsdown Holiday Park from the liquidator there was no cash in the pot. The Owners Committee urged a small group of owners to refuse to pay their 2007 Service Charge which the vast majority of us had already paid. Tingdene's major mistake was to let this small group of owners off their 2007 payment and alienate the majority of owners who generally support the improvements Tingdene has made. Unfortunately this same small group of non payers have attempted to block every potential improvement to the holiday park paying no regard to the views of the majority of owners. As "Dreadful Company" indicated this small group are still taking up valuable time at tribunals arguing about a tiny sum of money the payment of which allows us to enjoy our chalets for an extra 4 months of the year. The holiday park is being purchased by a client of Michael Paul and we are looking forward to welcoming them and supporting them during their period of tenure. During the period when the holiday park was up for sale a consortium of owners formed a company to purchase the holiday park - yes this same small group opposed the purchase of the holiday by the owners they are supposed to represent!

No Tingdene are by no means perfect and I have had some run ins with them but they leave the holiday park at a time when it is becoming increasingly successful unlike the previous owners who virtually closed it down. Let's give credit where credit is due and look forward to further success.

as since this time the very same group have opposed every improvement that Tingdene have tried to initiate. The vast majority of owners want to see further investment in what is already a beautiful spot so that the park owners and chalet owners can
