Wow, really? You're seriously going to make a complaint like this against a person who is mentally disabled and simply trying to support themselves!? You obviously know nothing about SSI, as it is intended as SUPPLEMENTAL income for disabled people with low income and is NOT intended to be the disabled person's only source of income. You are allowed and ENCOURAGED to try to work with a disability. There is nothing wrong with what she is doing, unless she is exceeding SSI income limitations and/or failing to report such income. The same goes for SSDI. Do you even realize how small these checks are and how hard it is to live on such meager resources? This person should be applauded for her efforts to support herself financially, and for using the resources available to her when traditional work is not an option, rather than made to feel like she's a criminal. Have you no compassion? The fact that she suffers from mental illness means that she is already in a great deal of emotional pain. For someone like you to come along and add to that pain by doing something as sleazy as posting this just sickens me. I completely agree with (immodest) above. You should mind your own business. As a disabled person myself, I am highly offended.

I'm not Shanda, (though I'm sure she would be highly offended as well), nor do I know the woman. I just stumbled upon this complaint from an internet search. I have no idea what Shanda has "dished out", but perhaps she is getting a dose of Karma as Recordkeeper suggests. I am simply speaking from the perspective of a disabled individual and for the right disabled people have to work. I agree that if this person is making a fortune and/or faking mental illness to collect benefits, that would be wrong and of course she should face the consequences. What I don't understand is why anyone on here would know about this person's mental health or work situation in the first place and why it would interest them so much. I mean, did she ever do anything to you personally? And if she does have a bona fide mental illness, shouldn't that be taken into consideration at least partially, since her brain is obviously not functioning normally? I can't imagine what this Shanda could have done for people to have it out for her like this. Maybe someone here can fill me in?

I guess you can not use apostrophes on your posts here unless you want your words to have ' in them? Someone should fix that! It is quite annoying.
