Awful company

Yes. I am another author with a bad experience with Publish America. There is strength in numbers and we all need to band together to bring this company down. ANY suggestions. You can reach me at [email protected]

Awful company

I too, have been screwed by Publish America, after countless times of sending in the paper work, four times of sending in an Illustrator/Artist release form the book comes to us, without the Illustrators name on it, and five pictures blurred in the book.
After writing them, their reply was that this was not their fault, they made the corrections by printing the Illustrators name, but would not refund us with ten copies of the correct print. On top of all of this, they sent a email with a no-reply. There is no way to contact this Company, they will not correct the bad doings. So I contacted a local printer and can have my Children's Picture book printed for$1.79-250 copies, because its local, they are not charging me $5.99 S&H per book.
PA is nothing but a scam

Awful company

I have waited before filing a complaint against Publish America. My complaint is not unique as - everything I've read I could ditto. I'm sorry I did not do more research before signing a contract with them. I worked with them on their deadline, feeling rushed. When my book was published (in record time i might add) it was filled with errors, the cover was not the one I submitted and thus the troubles began. The clincher is this: I was in ICU for 17 days of January last year, when they sent an e-mail giving me 3 days to answer or my manuscript would go to printer. I saw the e-mails about 5 days too late, and even though I called to tell them, "NO NO NO" there was too many errors for printing, they ignored me. Eventually they were corrected, only to start another problem. I received orders that belonged to someone else whom I did not know - it wasn't my book - I was told to sell them if I wanted to (which I didn't). Two orders were delivered to me by this author who is probably still wondering where her books are. I've called, sent e-mails and now a year later I still have the books.
I paid for their help in getting book signings. NOTHING, NADA, ZERO, yet they will not return my money which was the only reason I signed up with them, it was a guarantee.
I made an order in November for an upcoming book signing in early December. The books have not arrived and we are nearing February. They have my money; I want a refund of the book tour fee, and my order to be sent with some kind of explanation. I want to join the club of complaints on this company so no other senior will be scammed. It was supposed to be a long time dream come true, only to turn into a nightmare and embarrassment.

Lies about the Roya;lties

I've been at war with this shoddy company for a while now. They demanded an apology from me when I sent a scathing email to them. They don't have an apology for me for scamming me and I refuse to kow tow to their level. In a very stupid move, I did resign with them for my second book, thinking that maybe things would change. I have since asked them to let me out. No response other than a ludicrous, "What are you unhappy about?" DO THEY REALLY want me to answer that with brutal language? I just want this to end. They aren't making money out of me, as they state saying I have no sales, and I'm not making money on my own book. I didn't write it to have this happen. They have NO RIGHTS to try and sell me my own book back. They must be stopped by a court lawsuit or something. I just don't know.

scammers!

I wrote a book in 2005 and recently I discovered that it's being sold on such websites like Amazon and Ciao. I received no royalty from these books which they sold. This is just ridiculous!

stole my manuscript

This publisher published my book without any notice and never paid me my interest money or any benefit money! This is really ugly from their side, when I tried to get my manuscript from them they just refused me saying that they lost it. Lie with no shame! Beware!!

PublishAmerica - Return of Manuscript

PublishAmerica has reported to me recently, that the discs and hardware containing my manuscript were to be destroyed - the contract was due to run out.
I have corresponded with them but have had no reply as to the fact. They seem to be a company with a small staff who send out emails to authors and will not correspond otherwise. Like real business people should or would.
They emailed me asking that I pay US$140.00 for the exchange of the rights, or wait. I opted to wait - I did not have the money. Next, after a few months, I received another email asking for US$500.00 for the return of my manuscript. I sent a letter reply to the correspondent, but have heard nothing in return since.
I was keen and once very pleased to have my story in print after so long. Now I am unsure, no-one knows about it, particularly the book stores.

Stay away from these people

I used this company when I tried to print my book. I paid them for the first 200 books and send them my manuscript but after that I never heard from them. This company simply took my money and ignored me, never provided services I paid for and stole my manuscript. I tried to contact them many times and each time I was ignored. Beware and better stay away from them!

Publish America

To end my contract with Publish America, I felt that I had no other choice than to take them up on their on-line offer to purchase my publilshing contract from them in the amount of $151.99 , August 3, 2013. The order was title RevertRights 149 and my order number is 17794. I also made comments in the order box they provided. Requesting that all sales of my book be stopped electronically as well as hard copies immediately, and also that any and all monies due me as relating to royalties, I have never received any and for royalty payment be be mailed to me by cashier check, also told them that this does confirm that my book Man-tu the Young One: ISBN-10: 1436033662 and Bin Number ... ISBN 13: 9781456033668, will no longer be sold on the internet and anywhere else. Requested that all bin numbers be destroyed and plates and told them that I understood that cancel contract would be mailed to me. It never happened. I did print out the bill of sale/order sheet from my email, they finally sent me due to my persistance. Have yet to receive any royalt payments and my book is still being sold by them and they are still being listed as publisher although the rights are no longer theirs to claim. I wrote the United States ISBN ... Just look on line and see how that worked out for me..... From what I can see and I am sure I am not a lone with this question. "Who is lobbying for Publishing America in Washington? Surely by now some one with real clout should have stopped them by now. They stopped Burnie Madoff ... They can't stop Publish America ..... What gives?
