Cost of DSTV/Repeats/Lack of choice

I am paying a lot of money for a VERY BAD SERVICE. See picture attached of what I can see when watching a movie or the news.
Please can you help me, or at least pay my subscription fee back because it is not acceptable at all.

No Customer Service

I AM NOT SATISFIED WITH DSTV SERVICES PROVIDED REGARDING PAYMENT, MY SMART CARD NO IS 42508830181 AND WHENEVER I PAY IN ANY BANK, THEY DID NOT KNOW DSTV A/C NO AND IN AGENCY "SIKAMAN SUNYANI " THEY ALSO NOT POST MY MONEY AND IN RESULT THEY UNSUBSCRIBED SERVICES FOR DEC. 2011 THREE TIME, JAN 2012 FOUR TIMES AND FEB 20 12 TWO TIMES IF I CALL TO CALL CENTER EVERY TIME NARRAT ALL STORY TO NEW CALL ATTENDER, I TIRED WITH YOUR SERVICES, TODAY AGAIN IT IS DISCONNECTED, WHERE AS I HAVE PAID ON 01-01-2012 IN ZENITH BANK SUNYANI 55CEDI FOR INDIAN CHANNELS, LAST TIME IN PAYMENT WAS MADE TO SIKAMAN SUNYANI OFFICE, BUT ALL THE TIME SAME PROBLEM.

No Customer Service

bad service i dont get why i should use my airtime if dstv is the one with the problem and worst of all after wasting my airtime i still get no help

Multichoice

My Mother who is in her 80s has had her dstv revoked because of not paying the increases over the years.
She was never advised of the increases but was told by Mnet when she queried the account that she need to look on the right hand and press ok to receive information on her account How could they possibly expect old people who hardly have good eye sitght to perform this operation. So they have cancelled her suscription and are now suing her for the balance. She receives these sms from a company called MBD Inc demanding or else. Heres what I want Mnet to do; Re instate her subscription and write off the old debt. Advise me on what the new subscription will be (bearing in mind this old lady is not well and lives in an old age home with nothing else to but watch her TV and you have taken that away from her ) Shame on you !!!

drinking and driving on "four wheel drive"

The guy driving the land cruiser on channel 189 Four wheel drive sesson 3 episode 9 just after crossing the dry river bed, he was filmed drinking a castle lager, not only is that the most clueless presenter but they seem to be promoting drinking and driving, is that acceptable or is it the old boer way,

And I think this and many other shoes one that channel should be a bit more car related like rather show old shows of American hot rod or something, but most of the shows on tho channel are just boring and not worth the money

I m complaining about sens from last year i dont get my dstv guide margazine i dont know why. And other thing is i want to buy walker or drifter problem is i want to use it to free state in koppies but doesnt work when u gonna fix that problem of koppies

I spend a lot of time indoors and it's been four years now that i have been paying for DSTV subscription. I have reached boiling point with anger/frustration from all the repeats. really now? as if the movies are not old enough. I might as well just pay my TV licence and watch SABC.

Premature termination of my DSTV Banquet

Dear DSTV Nigeria,

It has become a regular occurrence of your organization of disconnecting my DSTV connection without proper considerations of when my subscription is due for renewal.
Last month I was disconnected for 4 days without any explanation and I was never compensated.

I called your online customer care line and they confirmed that the last payment I made was on the 21st of February 2013, and as at 17th of march have been disconnected. I seriously frown at this treatment as I never enjoyed service paid for.

I have the recorded messages that I had with 2 of your customer care representative yesterday and today where they confirmed I have been disconnected,

My smart card No is 4119234391. I want all the outstanding service to be restore without further delay.

Anxiously waiting to get response from you within 24hrs.

On Air - Re - Explorer PVR

A company On Air called me regarding a special they were promoting with regard to the new Explorer PVR Decoder.

I excepted the offer and had my Explorer delivered to me on Friday 7th March.

The installer connected the Explorer up on Monday Morning the 10th March, the decoder worked no problem, Tuesday morning no signal, the decoder froze cant switch it off nothing on the panel.

Got the company back to check the installation etc ... all fine was told the decoder is faulty.

Tried calling On Air to advise them about this, the number they give as a contact goes through to Multichoice in Randburg and the contact centre there doesn't know anything about the company " ON AIR ".

There is a company promoting specials for DSTV and the staff can't assist me.

Secondly a brand new Explorer is delivered to me, one day and now its faulty. I get told I must take it back to DSTV in Randburg.

Thirdly I'm working, I live in Alberton, I can't get to Randburg at least until Saturday morning, now I'm sitting with no TV.

If ON AIR could get the decoder delivered to me, I expect them to get this faulty one collected, and a new one delivered back to me, and one that is sealed.

How on earth is it possible that after one day a brand new PVR decoded is now faulty, it doesn't say much for this Explorer.

I would like this issue to be sorted out ASAP and for somebody to contact me ASAP regarding this complaint, otherwise I will be posting this on " HELLO. PETER and going to the Ombadsman of Multichoice.

Dear Dstv

It is to my empathy and disgust as you can see by the subject, that I am way past furious...I feel like someone who has been bullshited into something that cannot get out of it. I am not even going to apologise for my language because all you are going to tell me is "SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE" and that is not what I want to hear at this stage.
I am currently sitting with a suspended account....WHY, WHY, WHY????? Ever since I have upgraded with the explorer and the New HD decoder I have not once enjoyed it. You can confirm this with Deidre, Pieter and the rest of DSTV at Centurion Mall. I have been spending more time at that branch than with my family watching, what I thought was going to be a pleasure...is an absolute HELL. My HD decoder that is supposed to be my secondary/dual view decoder has worked only for 2 days and ever since I have no 101-108..no 114-129..no 131-193..no 194-201..and from 203 is still not playing. We can’t info on the TV guide, we can’t search results, can’t set reminders and so we can go on and on (see attached). In plain words, the HD decoder is not correctly connected to the Explorer. They send out a guy named Waylon on Saturday 8 August 2015, as I was not prepared to go to dstv again because I might have lost it totally because I have already been driving up and down to dstv to no avail. He at least tried to do something but today 11 August 2015, no tried to contact me. The decoder says it’s got no signal but when you do the signal test, it says that there is a 97% signal??? I have paid Thousands of Rands, not worth my while. Who is going to reimburse me on my cell phone costs that I used to hold on to speak to someone and were put on hold for your problems, my diesel that I drove up and down to dstv, my time and my emotional distress because of your POOR, POOR Service. I upgraded with the explorer and then I was told that it will work much better for 2017' upgrade, with the transmitter/LCD, not to sure what it is called and then I also have to upgrade with a 8 inch (bigger) dish and that I must buy the HD decoder so that I can get the Installation and dish incl otherwise it will not work....low and behold I had to pay R1400.00 for the installation as well. I had to pay otherwise I was going to sit with a dead PVR. I went out to buy a PVR that was going to cost me R1999.00 and I ended up paying R4647.00 for a damn explorer that is now suspended when I got home from work but my payment is done for the month of August 2015. What the Flip! All I want is to watch TV in peace!!!!!!!! Honestly, If it was me not paying my subscription, you would have suspended my viewing and give me over to attorneys!! So what now????

FURIOUS NEW DSTC CUSTOMER

Morning to people of dstv firstly I am a new customer that started on the 06October 2015 and am not even impress with the service i have received i had a installer at my house to install dstv decoder and spoke with a call centre agent to set up a direct debit plan and no where between me communicated with them did any of them tell me that i am liable to make a payment 48Hours within my dstv becoming active.Last night on the 21.10.2015 i get home my account is suspended without a warning or anything and when i called dstv they all telling me the same bullshit that i was suppose to make payment in 48hours once activated. Can i get some answers in telling me why after 15Days you go and suspend my account and why i had to make 6phone calls to get it active again after call disconnecting when ever i spoke to an advisor . I considered upgrading my package even but if thsi is the servvice you guys have to offer i might as well just cancel my whole contract with you guys as well cause i wont be dealing with this crap

DSD 990 Decorder

Iam subscriber with smart card no.40245635145 victor alma.I stop paying my dstv subscription because of Gotv promotion I subscribe to for about a year and now I want to go back and you're asking to pay 13,500 before getting a new recorder and that my account is not valid.the old recorder still has the warranty sealed.please I was I could have my old Decorder exchange please what do I do?

I have made e-mail contact with your contact centre on 5 occasions .Each communication is acknowledged by an automated response giving me a case number to which there is no further response. What do I do next ??

Dstv mobile

Here in Nigeria the electricity is bad and most of us will like to go mobile. I personally have a drifta but it is not showing big brother, I cannot even watch the recap on Africa magic showcase. We have just a movie channel showing. Please let there be an upgrade

Fraudulent Promo and Irresponsible Customer Service in Lagos

The DSTV brand is growing its reputation as a dishonest organisation with little or no care for their numerous customers who they treat as slaves. Unfortunately, not only are their customer service team untrained, myopic and rude; the management team in Nigeria are nonchalant, clueless and irresponsible.

I am sure there are millions of voices that would want to do what I am doing now but too frustrated to bother since they know nothing will come out of it, neither am I stupid to assume any good will come out of this complaint as usual.

However, for the record, I have made series of calls in a spate of one week to the customer service team in Lagos during wish I have been bruised, battered and dumped with no resolution of the issues raised.

I was lured to purchase a new subscription with a promo of one month free package. This was installed about ten days ago and as I type, I have not enjoyed an hour of service in total to date.

All efforts to get DSTV to fulfil the promised promo have proved abortive. I have spoken with different people using different fictitious names ;spending over 3 hours on call...

As mentioned, I have no hope of resolution to this issue and will be seeking alternative service but perhaps my write-up will save other innocent Nigerians from falling for the s called promo fraud.

Dear DSTV.I think many viewers share the same sentiment as I do about the movies that are screened.Most of the movies are over 10 years old and are repeated over and over again.Considering the exorbitant prices we pay,we the viewers have a right to have a bigger and better choice of movies.Thank you

Fedup with dstv _ daylight robbery

Good day
I am very disgusted in you guys. On 1 March this year I did not pay my Dstv account due to unforseen circumstances. My account was then suspended on 16 March. On 26 April I paid R 640 and on 27 April I paid another R830. My account was then switched on again. Today is 12 May and my account is suspended again. Now you want me to pay R 1 802. This is bloody ridiculous. How can you expect this? Seriously? Do u think I'm mentally challenged or what? I want you to resolve this as a matter of urgency. I WILL not pay that money. I want to know what its for. I WILL go to the media with u guys. Honestly, you're out of your mind. I need an answer asap.😬

Improve immediately

I pay a high amount of money just on having DSTV itself. That means business minded, Customers should get value for money. Why do you only repeat movies? I pay R800 a month just viewing the same movies all over again, is this really reasonable? Stop showing REPEATS and start doing your job or you will lose thousands of unhappy Customers.

DSTV PLAYING SAMETHING OVER AND OVER

I am not happy on the fact that I pay so much money to watch the same programmes over and over. DSTV needs to make a plan same movies for example Karate Kid has been playing the whole week, Paddington, deep blue see, Ezibiweyo and Madea the list is endless. We are paying so much money to be watching the same stuff. DSTV needs to buy more recent movies etc.

Denial of payment despite all the evidences

Having paid my subscription using my online banking facilities and sent DSTV an email confirmation of the payment, they claim not to have received the payment made, I then sent them a copy of my bank statement clearly reflecting the payment but again they claimed not to have received it. They have asked me to contact my bank and obtain an MT103 document which will convince them that the payment was made, I did that and sent them a copy of the MT103 clearly detailing the transaction made and yet again DSTV are saying that their bank did not receive that payment. Now DSTV are asking me to enquire again with my bank, I have already done so 3 times and there is no reason to doubt on the base of all the evidence presented that this payment didn't go through.

I am absolutely frustrated by all this and I feel as a customer, I should not be expected to be the intermediary between banks on foreign transfers to reassure DSTV about a certain payment, all I could do is provide all the evidence of the payment and it is up to their finance team and bank to determine what's wrong and provide me in return with evidence of payment failure.

Anyway I honestly don't think they care enough about their customers with their senseless approach and they definitely lost me as a customer as of today.

DSTV IS A GOOD SERVICE PROVIDER BUT RECENT DEVELOPMENTS IN ZIMBABWE ARE LEADING TO SOME OF YOUR DSTV AGENTS RIPPING US OFF BY CROSS RATING FOREGN CURRENCY AGAINST THE LOCAL CURRENCY FOR EXAMPLE I WANTED TO PAY FOR DSTV ACCESS WHICH SHOULD COST 11USD BUT THE AGENT INSTISTED THAT I PAY 15 USD AND A EXTRA FEE OF 4BOND DOLLARS EXTRA WHICH AMOUNTED TO NEARLY 20 USD FOR A SERVICE WORTH 11 USD WHICH IS WRONG PLEASE DO REVIEW YOUR RATES BECAUSE SOME OF US WILL LEAVE YOUR SERVICE. NB... THE AGENT WAS AT BINDURA MAIN POST OFFICE CHECK IF HE COMPLIES WITH YOUR STANDARDS OR YOU ARE GOING TO LOOSE YOU LOYAL CUSTOMERS LIKE ME.

Good day ☺ I had premium package I wanted to downgrade to Compac so I cancelled Compac I have confirm this with the Call Centre Operator I wanted to pricelock explore 2 R549.00 pm .From Friday I had to confirm my Details over and over again some told me that they are going to call me I have told the Operator my cellphone is not working right they must call me at work I am still waiting can someone please HELP

DSTV Poor service and over priced!

Very frustrated with DSTV. They disconnected me before due date. When I paid, they told me that I was still owing, although it is not true.They have sent me an inflated bill forcing me to be on another bouquet without a warning! I do not want that bouquet. I called DSTV Nairobi 5 times and no one is helping so I am still switched off from my usual channels. I am writing to demand a refund as no one should force me to watch channels I did not ask for and to remove my favourite ones!
