Two week return policy and terrible customer service

I went to return a pair of pants (given to me for my birthday) that were too big. With summer holidays in August I was unable to meet the 14 day return timeline - even though my tags were still on. The "lululemon educator" was completely rude and explained the only thing she could do was give me 10% off a new purchase. I explained to her that as a business owner and fitness teacher who spends hundreds of dollars almost monthly at her store, I didn't think this was fair. She snottily told me that if I was on their R & D program receiving the 15% discounts on clothing and in the fitness industry, I should understand. I'm not sure what upset me more - the fact that I have a pair of pants given to me for my 40th bday that I can't wear - or how rude this girl was. Either way, I will never shop at Lululemon again and have already told my friends and family not to buy me Lululemon for gifts anymore...
