Excessive ACH from bank account

I got a phone call from the Powell Law Office, PC just before new years asking for payment of $426.07. I have never taken any payday loans from any loan company. I told them that. Well on Jan 9th I receive a threating letter asking for the money. So I wrote back disputing the validity of the debt, or any portion thereof and requested verification of the debt or a copy of the judgement against me and a copy of such verification or judgement and mailed to me. I too requested the address and name of the orignal creditor and all documents associated with it. I sent the letter registered return receipt so I know they got it. I have never heard of either Lighthous Recovery Associates or LoanPointUSA until now.
So I decided to look on the internet and found that all of the so called businesses are scams. Like I said I have never barrowed any money from these scams.

Excessive ACH from bank account

My husband just received a threatening phone call from a so called "Private Locator" saying there were charges filed against him by Loan Point USA for an outstanding payday loan in 2007. We haven't had a payday loan since 2000 and that was with our Military credit union in Shreveport. When he told her he was unaware and not going to give them any personal information or any payment, she proceeded to threaten him and then she just hung up!! Who is this company and the so called law firm? I felt like if it was legit they should have given details. After research I found this site along with so many other sites with the same complaint!! Any recommendations on how we should proceed??

Excessive ACH from bank account

I too have been bitten by this company, my experience with them started in Oct 2009. i took out a 700.00 loan and made sure that the email sent to me that the loan was to be PAID IN FULL on my next pay day meaning 880.00 would come out and i would be done with it. once i did that i didn't think about that loan any further. we will now move forward to August 2010 and i noticed a 180.00 ach from my account and started investigating, come to fond out they did not do the PAY IN FULL and had been pulling out 180.00 every 2 weeks since Oct of 2009. i called them and all they did was laugh and hung up. i then contacted my bank and filed a complaint explaining what was suppose to happen. The bank found that 3760.00 had been taken out my account and refunded 2700.00 back from me leaving the 880.00 + 180.00 for them as payment in full. then the letter from the attorney started and i promptly responded with all the information i had from the bank and the calls and letter stopped. Fast forward to Jan 17 2012, i noticed a 125.00 Check not ACH on my account and when i pulled up the snapshot of it i saw LoanPointUSA and quickly called my bank and referenced the case number from 2010. it is now in the hands of my banks check fraud division as they found 2 other checks by LoanPointUSA on my account for Jan 3 2012 and Dec 14 2012. i am also seeking legal action against them. for those of you who get the call are mailing stating they have a warrant out on you get a lawyer because there is only one institution that can do that and it is the IRS. payDay Loans are considered a debt and they can threaten that type of action against you. all they can do is bring you to court and from the sounds of it they never will but all be warned keep a close eye on your bank accounts if you have dealt with them or even close and open up a new account.

Excessive ACH from bank account

Today I was checking by bank statement. I seen a withdraw I never made. I looked at last month and seen the same. They had taken 375.00. I never did business with Loan Point. I did not know the person name whos bill I was paying.I had the the bank stop payments to Loan point. I then called Loan Point and talked Jeanna. She told me that I had another person on my account. I tried to explain that there is some kind of mistake. She wouldnt listen. She tried to say I was sitting with the person whos bill I was paying. She told me in 2010 600.00 was depoisted in my account in two names. I argued with her. She said maybe a family member or someone who was on the account before. We ended up doing a three way call with my bank. She even argued with my bank. My bank informed her that I was the only one on the account. They had already put the money back in the bank for me. Loan Point will have to pay the bank back. I would never want to do business with Loan Point.

Excessive ACH from bank account

I agree with everyone on this page. I borrowed $300.00 and the took over $1200.00 from my bank account and continued to take money out when they were not supposed to to. Causing me to close my bank account due to all the fees, and in order to stop them. This was 2 years ago. They continuously call and all of the bank information they have given me has been incorrect. They have also asked me to provide them with my ss# which I refuse to do. They do operate as loan sharks. I was contacted by someone who threatened me saying I was going to jail and they were coming to pick me up. I was contacted at work and they talked to one of my employees telling them they were coming to arrest me. When I contacted them they gave me fake phone numbers I continued to tell them they had the wrong information and that I did not owe them any money. I told them that calling and threatening me was illegal and asked if they could provide me with a real number and address as I was going to have law enforcement go and speak to them, they hung up. They continue to call but I don't answer. I want to be included in any lawsuit that is filed against this company. I'm in Florida feel free to e-mail me [email protected]

Excessive ACH from bank account

Count me in as well. I took a loan with them back in '07 and paid it off in full. They kept taking money out of my checking account and it got to the point where I had to cancel my direct deposit for my payroll and close the account. Had to make a choice, rent or them. Eventually, I forgot about them. Last month, they contacted me through a mediation company and are threatening legal action unless I reach a settlement. My biggest concern is that since I no longer live in the district where the court hearing would take place and I have no way of getting there, I'd be hit with a failure to appear/contempt of court bench warrant. But now I'm wagering that they wouldn't try, given the laws in my home state(New Hampshire) regarding payday loans. In any event, I'll gladly take part in any class action suits against them. I can be reached at [email protected].

Excessive ACH from bank account

When I contacted them, requesting that they send documentation proving that I owe them money, I received what amounted to a threatening phone call, stating that they would serve me at home. As I'm effectively homeless and have been unemployed for nearly three years, I have no idea how to handle this. I can't afford to have this go to court. If anyone can help me with this, please contact me at [email protected]. Thank you.

WHAT?!?!?

I just received a call from a process server who wants me to sign a summons from a company called "Pro Source" who says they are acting on behalf of Loan Point USA for a loan taken out in 2010. This is TOTAL bs. They want over$2000.00 for a supposed $200 loan. This "Pro Source" person said that I can pay them or dispute it and pay a minimum of $4000.

Scam

I have received numerous calls from a Big Bear, CA phone number. I finally called the number back that the automated system leaves on my voice mail. When I finally spoke to someone (with a heavy accent I could barely understand) he informed me that his name was Brian Jackson from the mediation department of Brooks and Weisman. Attempting to collect a balance of $1781.31 I owe from a pay day loan from Loan Point, I supposedly took out back in 2012 (which I never did). All he kept doing was attempting me to confirm my social # and press for me to pay this amount. Which I would not do.I asked why they called my cell phone number, and he said it was the number I used when applying for the loan. They called me on my CA number, not the number I had in 2012. I also asked why they were calling from a Big Bear, CA number if they are from AZ. He could not answer. He got so upset with my questions that were disproving his allegations, that he just hung up on me. Total Scam! Do not fall for it. They are claiming I owe money, yet none of this has shown on my credit in the 7 years they are claiming they have been attempting to contact me. He just gets pushy thinking he can scare me into paying. Total BS!
