Solar Panels Fraud

Hi
I too have been ripped off by this company that advertises in a lot of 4x4, camping and caravanning magazines
as solar energy store. Fortunately I have only lost $114, but it is the principle more than the money. I ordered from their web site a 12/24v twin cylinder air compressor
rated at 150L/M. What they sent me was a much smaller single cylinder one. When I rang them I was told to send it back and the correct one would be sent to me.
I sent it back and when I never heard back from them I sent several emails that were never answered.
About a month later the same item was sent back to me with a $36.95 postage charge. I refused to pay and it has now been sent back to them.
Each time I phone them I am told someone will ring me back but they never do. I have sent more emails but they never get answered either.
Thank you for putting up your web site to warn other people about this company.I will do the same via forums involved around 4x4 camping and caravanning.
Cheers
Kev.

Solar Panels Fraud

I purchased a 45 litre Infomon Fridge Freezer from this LHP company in November for the Xmas season, but the 240 volt step down transformer was faulty, so I sent it back to them, as they asked and I still have not received the replacement. I have rung them and rung them and each time I have had a different excuse, it is not that I'm asking for the world all I want is the 240 power source so I can run the fridge it runs on 12 volt okay. So threatening them and asking for my money back would be a waste of time I guess, the only other way is to see if anyone knows where I can Purchase one to suit that product. Has anyone got any results from protesting?

Cheers Cath

Solar Panels Fraud

I have bought a spa through eBay from Luxury Home Products. First I waited nearly 3 weeks for delivery, with someone else answering the phone each time, and with outrageous excuses, Then I have the one problem after the other. The air blower ended up faulty, with water running into it, the one Whirlpool 1.5kW pump motor burnt out with water leaking on it, then the cover arrived, damaged. To date I had calls and emails back, but no replacement parts or a payment of the electrician's accounts. I will also take it up through eBay. Ettienne Botha, Adelaide. ([email protected]_

Solar Panels Fraud

hello victims,
I worked at this store for about 9 months or so and know exactly how they operate the business. The business is a total scam, they send out incorrect items, sell items knowingly that they are out of stock, use false advertisement and send out broken or damaged items in order to buy time. I'll tell you in details what happens if you call for your missing item, first you will reach the sales team which they will tell you that the "dispatch" team will call you on the same day, the dispatch team would then call you back and state that the item has either been sent, lost in transit, missing in transit, stuck in transit or damaged during postal etc. They will then state that it will be marked as "urgent" and send you one immediately and you will receive it in 1 - 2 weeks. All this is total lies, they are just making shit up to buy time in order to buy stock from china. The sales team and dispatch team are basically the same people. They also have a couple of websites and eBay stores, there primary goal is to serve the eBay sales so they don't receive negative feedback. Depending how lucky your are you will maybe receive the purchase item between 1 week to 8months. YES 8months.

False advertisement?
If you ask them where the items were made from, they would state all there items were made in USA but the truth is that the items are made in china or other Asia countries. They would make the warehouse people take all the stickers and user manual out so no evidence is left in the box.

So what can you do if you got scammed?
First off their is no point treating them over the phone or calling consumer of fair trading etc..
They will not take the treat seriously... even consumer of fair trading will not do anything, they will ask for the manager, the sales team would say his not here then they would hang up. Total useless. The best bet is to go up to the store and demand for your item. The boss is a white guy euro looks guy in his 30s or 40s so make sure you get very angry at him. He can write out checks. SO DON"T LEAVE till you get your money back. The best bet though is to sue them.

Good luck everyone.

Solar Panels Fraud

Hi, I am also a victim of solar energy store. Wrong product delivered, sent back and never to see another product again. Various emails with no reply. Hundreds of phone calls, which only result in being told its "dispatched". I am in north Queensland which makes it very hard to deal with them. Has anyone been to there premises and confronted them in person with success. I believe that these businesses should not be allowed to advertise in the various 4wd camping magazines, and wish the publishers would stand up for their readers.

Solar Panels Fraud

I had the same problem with this company LHP. They are bad news and need to be stopped. Ordered 2 x 250 watt panels and received two panels that were not nearly as big as my 175 watt panels but were labeled as 250 watt. Did a current test in full sun and did not come close to 250 watts. Again same problem they ignore all e-mails and divert me when I contact them by phone. please DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY.

Solar Panels Fraud

LHP (Luxury Home Products) also known as Solar Energy Store are as dodgy as they come. This business advertises on eBay, on the internet directly, in Blues Magazine, in caravan and camping magazines and they go to agricultural and trade shows to sell their wares. They have a shop front at Seven Hills in NSW. They are frauds. The products they sell are branded as INFOMON and are not what they are advertised as, they do not work as specified and unless you have some hold over them, like you purchased through eBay and are still able to give bad feedback, they are not interested in fixing any problems.

I purchased 6 x 200w Solar Panels off this company in August 2011 in a transaction over the phone. These panels were to be added to an existing off-grid remote area solar power plant. These panels are supposed to have a 25year warranty. The panels took approx. 1 month to arrive. It seems they got lost at the courier company and then courier wanted me to travel over 100km to collect them. When the panels first arrived they seemed to be smaller than 200w panels I had seen previously. Not knowing any better I thought that the technology may have improved and they must be able to pack more punch in a smaller package these days. Due to illness and various other reasons the panels were not installed till December 2011. 200w panels are supposed to put out 11 amps in ideal conditions and this is what the stickers on the back of these panels also said. Bear in mind that my 8 year old 85w panels sticker says 4.5 amps max and I regularly get 5 amps out of these panels. The highest output I have been able to record from the 200w lhp panels is 7 amps. I started to do some research and testing of these panels. I found out that most 200w panels have at least 72 cells. Even the lhp panels pictured on eBay have 72 cells. The lhp panels I received only have 54 cells.

Please note I have since purchased 180 watt panels from a different company. These panels have 72 cells. They also produce slightly more than the rated 10 amps.

I have tried contacting them by phone, I have contacted them by email and they are simply not prepared to do anything about it. They originally simply ignored me. Then when I emailed them that I was going to put my story on the net and contact media they pretended to try and work things out. They were really only playing a delay game that others have mentioned on the net, with no intention of really doing anything. They did ask if I wanted to send the dodgy panels back to which I responded that if I did I know Iwould never see them again or replacements or a refund. Strangely they made no attempt to deny this.

I also know of a friend who purchased a generator off them at an Ag show. The generator worked for ½ hour and never worked again. This was eventually replaced by lhp after the friend was about to go in to see them. So far the new one works although they only ran it for ten minutes.

I have also seen people on the internet complaining about this company ripping them off by claiming they can get the govt. rebate on their panels. The govt. has a list of approved panels. Only panels on that list are eligible for the rebate. These panels are not on the list. That is probably because they do not come up to specifications.

There are many complaints about this business on the internet if you look for them. Some of these people complain that they have gone through official channels including court, ASIC, Consumer Affairs departments for various states, etc. It seems all these government departments are toothless tigers. I thought the Australian Government was trying to encourage us to become green and use Solar Electricity Generation. What is the Carbon Tax about?? Why, when people try to do the right thing can they get no real protection from the government? I have also done some investigation on the net and found many other complaints about this business. Unfortunately most people like myself don’t tend to look for complaints until they have a problem of their own. In this case Lhp tend to sort out only the complaints that go through eBay so as not to get a bad profile.

Solar Panels Fraud

Yeah total ripoff them solar panels. Bought a few a couple of years ago. Size didn't match up to other panels out there. Now they're still selling their 'cheap' panels for a lot more now than you can buy a real 190 watt panel for that properly measures 1580x808 mm, buy now on ebay for $200 to $250 bucks each... Hope they come in contact with that proverbial rough end of the pineapple one day.

solar energy stores

I too have been stung by Solar Energy Stores. I purchased a generator at a Caravan & Camping Show in March and it finally turned up after weeks waiting and many of the above excuses as to why it had not turned up, just as others have experienced. When it did turn it the box smelt of fuel. When we opened the box we discovered a second hand generator containing fuel that came through the post! It's casing was coming apart, no manual, and a crack on the side. As with others stories above, they do not return any phone calls/emails/letters. So don't waste your time. I have lodged a complaint with Consumer Protection who could do nothing to help, also contacted ACCC, my local member of parliament, Consumer Watchdogs (Choice), also I reported to Australia Post about the fuel soaked box that arrived to my office. None of these departments are of any assistance so don't waste your time trying to force this unscrupulous company to be honest. You may as well kiss your money goodbye, because that's the last you will see of it. I was very disappointed to have called one of the caravan & camping magazines, that print a full page advertisement for this company, to hear they have received lots of calls and complaints but they need the advertising revenue from their ad! So I guess they will just keep ripping people off because no-one has the power to stop them!

The solar regulator I ordered never arrived. EVER.
