I have heard this more then 10 times especially the no papers issue !! there are a few owners that are going to the CKC to complain or try to get their papers them selves, this women should not pretend to have papers for her pups if she does not!!! lots of scammers out there dont let her show on pick a puppy change your mind, that company should of did their research !!!

I saw that she was on that show and was absolutely amazed and disgusted!!! It wasnt even filmed at her house!!! BaldWookie, please tell your story. This is the only way others will know. I never want anyone to go through what we are going through. It does not surprise me that 2 other people have already commented on this complaint. I just wonder how many more victims are out there?

Sick Puppy

I have the exact same issues with this breeder!!! My little girl has a degenerative joint disorder has had a knee surgery and is going to need a full hind quarter brace in the near future. I have never received papers and I see no point in try at this point... by the time i get them I'm sure that the unfortunate will have already occurred :( she is four now and we are treating her stiffness and arthritis pain with glucosamine and anti inflammatory but you can tell that she is still sore.

You wouldn't believe the special allowances we make for her.. we build 1/2 step decks for her and are installing ramps... gets plush everything to sit on and is rarely asked to make extra movements... we do physio with her more than we play and seeing that our other two boxers are very active and are played with ALL THE TIME its not for lack of willingness. It is breaking my heart that she is now getting to the point where she plays a little with the other dogs and or me and then she is down for hours or even days because of pain... and every day I question her quality of life and wonder if I am doing the right thing :(

Sick Puppy

My friend and I had litter mates from Landos. We had nothing but problems trying to get CKC registration. I finally got mine after a written complaint to CKC which was the first I had heard from her and she couldn't understand why I complained. This was over a year after the dog was neutered. My friend sent in the spay certificate plus e-mailed a copy and she kept saying she never received them. Again ages to get papers. Also her dog had heart problems almost right from the start and they spent a lot of money and time at the vets. Finally at under3 yrs of age the dog finally had to be put down as she was having multiple episodes a day. Not even 3 yrs at this point. Took many calls and messages to Landos to get her money refunded but absolutely no concern for the dog and what the owners had gone through. Her brother started getting sick within a few weeks of his sister having passed away and he went down hill so fast and lost 10 lb in about 2 weeks.Wouldn't eat or drink or even get up any more. Very sad. Again Landos really did not care. When I had him finally put down I asked the vet if she wanted to do a necropsy on him it was OK with me. She did and it was cancer on the thymus. So 2 litter mates gone under 3 yrs of age. I realize I can not hold Landos responsible for cancer but it seems her breeding stock has multiple health issues and she should not be allowed to continue. Also her business practices are very shady.

Sick Puppy

My boxer puppy from Lando's had Aortic Stenosis. I was told it was a "puppy murmur" by Linda and that it would go away. At 6 months he began collapsing during walks around the block if he so much as ran more then 10 feet. I took him to the University of Guelph and put him on medication. We were given a life expectancy of 2 years from that point and unfortunately his heart failed 5 months later at 11 months of age. He began to bloat as a result of his heart failing and we had to put him on another medication. We knew it was selfish of us to continue keeping him alive through this and made an appointment to put him down. He passed away two days before that appointment.

Aortic stenosis is a hereditary heart disease. There is alot of information available if you have the attention span to read it. Anyone considering a boxer puppy should educate themselves on heart disease and the proper testing procedures which need to be taken before breeding. Heart disease and hip displasia are AVOIDABLE with the proper testing.

I have been hearing and reading alot of problems over the last few years regarding the boxers coming from Lando's Boxers in Kawartha Lakes, Ontario (not to be confused with the Lando's boxers in the USA). These tragedies, heartaches and suffering that people and dogs have been going through needs to STOP. It is avoidable and irresponsible... period.

Sick Puppy

I have had problems with my puppy since the day I brought her home. I was assured that this dog was of perfect health from Linda at Lando's Boxers ON. I made a 3 hour drive up just to get my girl. When my vet checked her the next day we found out that she had a grade 3 heart murmur. We were also informed that our girl would probably not live a very long life. I am invested in this dog though and love her with all my heart and was not willing to return her. Outraged I called Linda who told me that its impossible for our dog to have a heart that bad and that her vet would have heard that. I would have to return and have her vet check my pup again at my cost. In my personal opinion she should not be breeding dogs. I feel that she has no concern for the dogs and its all about a quick buck. I cant believe that they allow people like her to breed dogs. I keep hearing terrible things about her pups. Something should be done about this.

Sick Puppy

None of these complaints surprise me at all. I also fell for Linda's BS hook, line and sinker. Our puppy also came home with coccidia and round worms. I tried to contact her as the contract states the puppy may be returned within 72hrs if my vet finds it to be unhealthy. Our vet did find the dog to be unhealthy, not only did it have worms but he detected a Grade 3 heart murmur. I do not live close to Landos, if I did I would have driven there and dropped the puppy back off. My emails were ignored, my phone calls were never returned. I now have an almost 1 yr old dog who is not expected to live past the age of 5 and will most likely need to be on heart medication.

Whatever you do stay as far away from this breeder as possible!!! I understand that issues happen but you would think a breeder would stand behind their dogs and honour the health guarantee. Whats the point of having one if you can't get a hold of them?

Sick Puppy

In reading all these post's I've realized that I've been duped aswell by all of Lindas B.S.
I have been very lucky that I haven't had the misfortune of any major medical issues. However shortly after I picked up my (now 3 year old ) girl some
serious dog aggresion issues emerged, and this was with a 4 month old puppy. Now I know that the living environment or my actions couldn't have caused the aggression. It got bad enough that she was almos kicked out of puppy school (really can that even happen) now I have realized that when some one chooses money over proper breeding practices, you get someone like Landos Boxers (Linda). And the CKC papers don't don't even get me started. She refused to return emails, phone calls or any help at all... Buyers beware. You probably won't get you papers, won't get any help, won't even be able to get through to her unless you say "Linda can I give you some money".
My heart goes out to every one that has had an animal from Landos, with the understanding they were getting a healthy, stong and beautiful animal. And ended up with some heartbreak an probably major vet bills aswell.
My suggestion is seek legal action, and take her to a small claims court. Its not hard to prove their is a breach of contract. And as her contract states any breach can you canbe fined for $5000.00. Just so you know it work both ways. One more thing I suggest. File a formal compliant with the Canadian Kennel Club, pay the admin fee, cause you'll eventually get it back after the investigation and Linda has to pay for it.
Then send her an email reminding her that it sucks when you screw someone over, but it always comes back in full circle. The last thing you can do is actually go to her place of business, and voice your concerns in person. Hopefully she will have some people buying an animal at that time. Trust me it works. So don't worry about your email because she doesn't get emails right... And in closing i hope Linda you are reading this and you feel good about all the heartbreak you have caused, simply because your a bad breeder and an even worse business person. So just if you think you mighthavefound a decent, reputable breeder its more like you found a liar, thief and a cheat that runs a puppy mill. Best of luck to anyone who refuses to let Linda "F" you over and takes action!

SICK PUPPIES !

I find it sick when people take a personal issue and spread it to ruin others lives and reputations. This is wrong ! I have known Linda 21 years and have watched her succeed. People do not succeed because they have bad dogs or have "shady" business ethics. For those who do not know coccidia is in every puppy but most times not active. Every puppy has round worm and you should repeat worming after you purchase a puppy. Heart disease and hip dysplasia is not 100% avoidable, thats why you do testing and exray to lower the possiblities, but realistically you can not eliminate the problems in nature. That would be like saying test people for cancer so we can eliminate cancer. We need to educate ourselves to understand, slandering someones name is not the answer. Legally anyone registering pure bred dogs has 6 months to give registration papers to the purchaser. Seriously the complains start on Feb 24th to March 31 ?? So suddenly there is all these issues after a person has been breeding over fifteen years, in a thirty five day period. The person that started this and you know who you are, Mr "don't want to pay stud fee" and got his friends to help him try to destroy the person he is jealous of, BECAUSE she is successful. I notice not one person actually uses a real name to slander another on this complaint registration form. I personally try to look for the good in people and I am shocked to see people turn on each other like savages. Law of nature, the truth will come out and you will be seen by all, just a matter of time. Stop being so full of hate and maybe we can respect each other. You are angry for nothing, call any breeder and ask for free stud service reguardless of dealings after pups are born. Lets treat people like people ! I pray that we can care for each other as we are supposed to and stop hurting each other. Life is what we make it ! And my name is ..................Tammy.

Seriously?

I have had 3 boxers, all from Landos, and cannot believe the negative things people have said about Linda. I feel I need to let people reading these horrible complaints know that I had nothing but excellent service from Landos. My 1st boxer lived to be 10 then passed away with cancer, his sister (whom my friend owned) lived to be 14!!! When I was ready to purchase another pup Linda even looked back at her records to find out which of her current females were from that bloodline because I wanted 1 from the same bloodline as my 1st. I was in contact with her on a regular basis after taking my new puppies (I couldn't resist and got 2) home. She gave me advice and answered all my questions. I WOULD NEVER BUY A BOXER ANYWHERE ELSE!!!

Sum it all up

obviosly only a few people (which are good friends of Linda's) have had a good experience. They aren't going to compliance abut their "trend" . she does not care about the health of dogs. she only cars about the income of her profits. this is not a reliable breeder. and if you ate first time, you would he better off going to a breeder who can meet all of your needs and not ignore you for 5,6,7 years. there have been MANY puppy deaths with this breeder. really do your researsh before purchasing a puppies.

IMPORTANT

I have read an article about the same issue she posed as a client on a forum saying she received great service And that her puppy was fine, then another person was messaged by this blogger. she did not get rid of her signature l, it was Linda who had posed as a "client" stating she had good service on the forum but the other blogger found out, by Linda's mistake, that the client was Linda..

NOT A PERSONAL FRIEND OF LINDA

We purchased a male fawn boxer from Linda in June of 2012. He is a healthy, loving dog and clearly Linda has raised some very wonderful dogs. Any time I have phoned or emailed her, she has responded quickly and has been in contact for the last 6 and half months. We were also given the opportunity to go and see our puppy at two weeks of age at another house that he and his mother (and other litter mates) were at. So clearly she has NO secrets. I truly believe that she is honest, kind and would help out in any way. WE WOULD DEFINATELY BUY ANOTHER BOXER FROM HER :) We had to put our one year old boxer down after not even a year. HE DID NOT COME FROM LANDOS. Lets just say that was an experience from hell and a truly heartbreaking year. THANK YOU LINDA FOR GIVING US A WONDERFUL GIFT, A NEW FAMILY MEMBER WHOM WE ARE COMPLETELY IN LOVE WITH!

As for you people that have nothing better to do then bash her, well maybe it was the care you were giving your dogs. Maybe you should do your research first. Boxers are a breed that are known to have problems...ASK ANY VET. Unfortunately, we all take chances and sometimes there are consequences beyond our control.

Linda, you will be hearing from us in the near future...as we are making plans for a new puppy!

Natalie, Corey, Jordyn , Leni and of course Mr. Rigley :)

PS....If she only cared about the income of her profits....then why the hell does she have another job?

Landos Boxers

My 2 year 9 month old (Landos) Boxer died 1 year ago.
He developed kennel cough like symptoms and then started bloating. After a few trips back and forth to the vet, an x-ray determined enlarged heart / heart failure. I contacted Landos and Linda was very sympathetic on the phone and when I mentioned warranty she claimed that she had "never dealt with a warranty claim before and would need to go back and read her contract". Because this was the first time anything like this have ever happened to her "her words", during this phone call she promised to replace my dog and I should send the diagnosis letter and x-rays from my vet. My vet explained to me that his condition was irreversible and the best we could do was keep him alive for up to a year on expensive heart medication. Without medication, the vet said he would be lucky to survive the next 2 weeks. With Linda’s kind gesture of a new puppy, we chose to keep him comfortable on water pills to reduce bloating until we received direction, but his condition was more grave with each passing day.
It took Linda over 8 days from the initial phone call to contact me with any direction. My dog's health had become severe. She now claimed that she changed her mind on a replacement puppy because it would put her reputation at risk. She requested that I conduct various tests to her satisfaction. Tests would not save his life, only further determine if it was cardiomyopathy as my vet suggested. After a few nasty back a fourth e-mails, Linda’s final offer was to give me 50% off a new puppy with the evidence I presented from my vet. Or if I wanted to spend hundreds of dollars on tests and and transport a dog that could no longer stand, I would get a replacement puppy for free when she had definitive proof.
Furthermore, the x-ray also revealed that he had fused vertebrae in his hind quarters and this was very un-characteristic of a young dog. This was not under her warranty clause and she was quick to dismiss it when mentioned to her.
To summarize, I was very unhappy dealing with Linda during this difficult time and would not recommend her to anyone. Her false promises and then delays in responding did not allow us to react properly and my dog was put down May 19 2012. I would much rather spend the money going to a different breeder than give her another dime for a replacement genetically defective dog.
PS: I noticed online that she has updated her contract to define the exact heart defects she warranties. My contract from 2009 did not have that level of detail.

Owner of Landos boxers

I avoid reading these reviews because so much is false. The above complaint has some slight errors. Yes he contacted me with a sick dog. I suggested he go to see a cardiologist to verify that there was a heart issue. I did say at the very beginning if it was a heart issue I would replace his dog. As per my contract new one and older one, I have to have definite proof the dog had a heart issue, he refused to see a specialist so in a kind gester I offered him a puppy for half price. He wanted me to pay for the cardiologist as well as get a new pup. I refused that.
The eight days from initial call was when he called to say his dog had kennel cough. This was his dog, its not up to me what direction he takes with care to his beloved pet.
People have to take responsibility for their own dogs.
I asked for a autopsy as well but he refused....I question that. I understand if he did not want to pay $400 for a cardiologist but and autopsy is closer to $100 and I offered it to be done at my vet.

Not much more I can say...I am truly sorry for his loss!

Landos Boxers

Hi Linda,

Some errors to your thread.
My dog developed kennel cough symptoms and we put him on anti-biotics, when that didn't help we put him on stronger anti-biotics. He begun to develop bloating a few days later and we then had the x-rays done. That is when the vet found the enlarged heart and fused vertebrae. Before jumping to a costly heart medication prescription, that would only prolong his life for a few months, I told the vet that we had a contract that covered him for heart for the first 3 years of his life. I contacted you the next day (this was the initial call). You may remember questioning if the anti-biotics were causing the issues as you Googled the symptoms during our phone call. As you noted in your comment you returned direction 8 days later, after my dog was gravely ill, and would be difficult to transport.

At my expense, the two letters from my vet, one letter from a radiologist and the x-rays proved the heart issue (and suspected cardiomyopathy), however you demanded that I needed to further define that it was cardiomyopathy without a doubt.
Yes, we had the option of an autopsy at a vet of your choosing, however after discussion with my family we decided to go with another breeder in the future and not pursue the autopsy (to get a replacement landos dog that could potentially be riddled with more problems). It should also be noted that the autopsy can only be done at time of death and seeing my dog cut up during my grieving was not something I wanted. The procedure is approximately $100 but was told that there are additional lab fees.

I know it’s a buyer beware environment, and a hard lesson to learn. Anyone reading this can make up their own opinion. I have heard rumors that you crank out a lot of dogs every year. There are lots of complaints on line, but I’m sure the percentages are in your favour.

No registrations available

Landos Boxers no longer receive registrations from the Canadian Kennel Club. Make sure to really look into her before buying a boxer from her. Many registration and health problems in the past.

I just wanted to chime in with my experience with Linda and Lando's boxers.

My husband and I purchased our male from Landos in fall 2007. He has grown to be a healthy and happy 8 year old boy. Any health issues that we have come across with him have been minor and are common to the breed. When we went to pick out our boy from his litter and later returned to bring him home, her home and kennels were clean and happy environment for her dogs.

I am very sorry to hear that many of you have had health issues with your dogs. My husband and I love boxers, yet we know that the breed unfortunately comes with a number of potential health issues. I have contacted Linda years after picking up our pup with questions and she has always made time to respond to me. We are currently in the motions of bringing home a second pup from Linda.

I understand how devastating it is to lose your family pet. A couple months ago we had to put down our female boxer (from other breeder) due to liver cancer. It's incredibly hard. However, to blame a breeder for cancer in your animal (especially when cancer/tumors are common in the breed) is ridiculous.

As far as the papers go...I can not speak to that. We opted not to have the papers provided to us. It wasn't of concern to us to have his papers. We is a family pet, we had no intention to show or breed him.

Also, I just want to add that I have contacted CKC myself to inquire if Landos is registered with them. Please see the response I got below:

"A breeder does not have to be a CKC member to register dogs, but we are pleased to inform you that the breeder you have requested membership status on LANDOS BOXERS is currently a member in good standing for 16 years with our organization."

Cardiomyopathy at age 2! Never buy from her

my Boxer who I loved so dearly was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy at age 2. He was given up to 6 months but only made it to 3 months. When I contacted Linda, she told me this was the first she had ever heard of any of her Dogs with this. ( funny as I read another complaint in this thread of her saying the same thing to someone else!) I have since discovered how many people who buy a boxer from her end up in my shoes. I was devastated. If you knew how many thousands of dollars I spent on him as well.... She is a horrible breeder and obviously has zero compassion for the dogs she breeds. She should be banned. Oh and just to add... She told me she would call me back but never did! Now don't you think a breeder who learns that one of her pups developed cardiomyopathy "a first for her dogs" would be at the very least interested in finding out how the dog is doing and what the Vets are saying!?!? Not one phone call after that. SHAME ON YOU LINDA.
Do your research people.

Devastated

My male Landos Boxer died just short of his 5th birthday. He was a big bold beautiful dog - outshone any other boxer I came across. I was proud to have him on the end of my leash. He was the light of my life - he had such a zest for life, he was a playful clown who loved his toys and going for long walks. He was the biggest softy so sweet and loving - he got in on every family hug and was everyones best friend. But he died - dropped dead with no warning while out walking last Thursday night. I was devastated over the sudden, tragic loss of my beloved "best buddy" The only consolation was he was out doing what he loved. right beside the person who loved him most.
I was too shattered to contact Linda by phone but sent her an email and text several days later. I thought she should know of my loss - so I provided her the details and the name of my dogs sire and dam thinking this information might be of important to her breeding program. My only expectation was a reply to express her condolences over the loss of my beautiful boy. I'm sadden to not have received any contact from Linda during this unbelievably difficult time.

Ignored

I purchased a female boxer 7 years ago and then a male boxer 3 years ago since I fell in love and didon't have issues at the time with Linda. The male was going to be a stud dog agreed upon with Linda. Our male dog did 3 breedings 2 which I can 100% confirm there were puppies from. I now want to collect my money owed to me and she ignores me. I would settle for another boxer from his litter.
She doesn't return my phone calls, my Facebook messages where I can see they have been read. This has been going on for a year n a half (1 1/2 years).
Also when we picked the male up after his last breeding he had deep scratches on his arm that have yet to heal properly and probably never will. She never said anything about this.
Linda if you do read these take notes and step up to customer complaints, it's easier to keep customers than to get new ones.
