Penalty to cancel

I booked two tickets around 100 pm. then I called back around 6pm. to modify the time, But because I was told that I can call back to modify or cancel immediatly. I just wanted to modify the time. I was told the I needed to pay a penalty of 150 for each ticket and plus 225 to modify the time. It was cheaper to cancel it. I canceled and I have to pay penalty or to loose 320. I have booked through another website and I never pay anything if the cancelation is done within 24 hours. They refused to reimburse the penalty charged to my credit card. I called and I requested to talk to a supervisor and I was told that there were not supervisors. They are supposed to inform the lapse of time the customer has to modify or cancel any ticket clearly. thank you
