Stop and think a moment about how many children's lives ended today because of cancer. Cancer is ugly, evil, and unfair, but it is especially ugly, evil, and unfair when it attacks a child. Look a parent who is losing, or has lost a child to cancer in the eyes and tell them your story of boycotting the store because they wouldn't give you a damn gift box.

Oh please Brenda!! Consumers shouldn't be forced to make a donation with a purchase regardless the cause. Not making a donation at a particular store does not mean the OP doesn't care about what the cause is. So put that guilt card back in the deck.

The OP wasn't being forced to make a donation dumbass. Many stores do not give gift boxes anymore without a small charge. Whether the self-absorbed OP cares or not is beside the point. She expected something for free and didn't get her way, was told she would have to make a donation and she threw a fit.

Ragon is correct. A lot of stores do charge for gift boxes now. I was in the Disney store and Bath & Body Works at the mall OP and both stores charged for gift boxes. Brenda is correct also. To ban a store because you are mad that you would have to pay for a box is ridiculously petty. You could have put the charge for the box on your cc or debit card, if they charge for boxes and instead of the fee going in the store's pocket they were donating what they charge anyway, who would have a problem with that?

My point is to boycott a store because there is a charge for gift boxes that they were generously donating those fees to a charitable org. is ludicrous. Donation issue aside, there is a charge for gift boxes and the OP expected one for free.

Discontinuing to do business with a store because they wouldn't give you a free gift box is your right, but silly IMO.
