Autocratic Day Care Workers Terrorize the Kids!

Well, I am a parent of a 2y.o. at GSBCDC, and I absolutely LOVE IT! My child had learned so much, and her teacher gives her all the love in the world. My child loves to go to school, and asks where her teacher is on the weekend. She is well advanced for her age, and I think I can attribute that to the time and attention she is given from her teacher. She is able to recite her Bible verses, can recognize numbers and letters when presented to her, and can even sound out several letters of the alphabet. I have enough trouble watching my own child and one of her friends, while trying to maintain order. I can't imagine trying to keep order with several more. I have no complaints though. My child always comes home clean, and her teacher has assisted me tremendously with potty training. I am notified of all accidents (when my child is at fault, and when she is hurt by others) in a very timely manner. My child's teacher and the director took time out to schedule a conference with me to propose a discipline plan for my child, and I was 100% in control of the actions they would take in the case of a disciplinary issue. We also proposed a rewards system together, and this has changed my child tremendously. Mrs. Morgan (my child's teacher) is the best, and my baby cannot get enough of her! Oh yea... When my child is out sick, the director calls to check up on her, AND she does recognize and know her by name!

The management is racist.

The management is racist at this daycare. They like to hire the meanest, most controlling, the least educated, the most intimidating African American females they can find in the area. The management likes to hire the women who can control ten young preschoolers without having to do more than having to give them a stern look. Those women who are accomplished at intimidating those children are guaranteed the best hours and the early morning day classes. The management likes it that these women can control their classes like they're the puppet master. What does this teach those little white kids? They learn that African American women are mean and aggressive. They learn that they should be scared of black folks. They learn that African Americans are categorically bad people. That is so wrong. If this school would hire educated African American females who practice developmentally appropriate practice, then the kids would learn that African American women are just as friendly, loving, nice, and nurturing as any female of any other race. Nope, the managers at that Southern Baptist Church like things just the way they are. They want those women to keep those big classes of two and three years under strict control.

Have you been in the cafeteria in the morning between 6:30-8:30AM? The management likes it that some of those really young kids sit in those big cafeteria chairs for a solid two hours while their daycare teacher sits in her own cafeteria chair texting and talking. A two and a half year old sitting in a big cafeteria chair squirming for two hours while the teacher is waiting for more kids to arrive before they get to go have breakfast? That's just plain wrong. Those little kids are so intimidated by their daycare teachers that sit there like scared rabbits. That is so wrong. If they get out of their chair, the lady will go over and pinch them real hard and they yell, "Ouch!!" and they scramble back to their seat. Then the daycare teacher goes back and starts texting again. How are we going to erase racism in this country if these Southern Baptists perpetuate the myth that all African American females are mean, controlling, stern, punitive, and just plain Bad? I spent many years living in a nice suburb north of Atlanta and I have to say that Mobile, Alabama is a horrible place for black women. I'm going back to Atlanta as soon as I can!
