Horrible Service - Lousy Instructions


not just the problems with course meterials, you got to be careful after completing the course, make sure you pay "Experian Charge", or they'll hold your Certificate and NOT remind you until a year later you noticed that you're insurance costs increases due to "Certificate In Process"!

Misinformation and terrible customer service


I signed up for an on-line traffic school course to keep points off of my license. I received an e-mail back saying that I had been deemed eligible for the course at GoToTrafficSchool.com. The E-mail provided the following details:

"The final exam consists of two parts: 1) the graded environmental portion . . . , and 2) the ungraded course content review.

You are required to score 80% or better (20 out of 25 questions) in order to pass the environmental portion of the exam. If you fail the environmental portion of the exam, you will fail the course. It is an open book examp so we also encourage you to take notes.

The optional course content review will not counta gainst your overall course score and is intended to reinfore the chapter material you learned during the course."

Note that there was nothing whatsoever said in the E-mail that the exam needed to be completed in a limited period of time.

I began the class at 9 pm in the evening, and finished at about 3 am. I then proceeded to take the test. Although the e-mail said it would be an "open book" test, I saw no way to leave the test and go back to reference the course materials. Fortunately, I had made notes on the Environmental symbols -- visual markers that were used throughout the course to make sure the student is actually reading the course materials. I did not take notes on the course content because I was told it would be "open-book," and because there was just so much information in nearly 6 hours of course study.

Now, for the first time, I read that I will only be alloted 30 minutes to take the test. My thought was to just focus on the environmental markers, because the e-mail said the content porton of the exam was OPTIONAL.

I set up a timer at my desk for 25 mintues and had just finished the first portion of the test and seeing I had what I believed to be nearly 10 minutes left, I was leisurely checking my answers when suddenly I got a message that I had exceeded the time limit and was booted from the program and told I failed. I couldn't understand why. As I searched the website to see if there was someone to contact - I came across a tab that showed "Course Format and Function."

It said the exam was divided into 2 sections, 25 environmental questions and 25 course content, and that I would have 15 minutes to complete each section. That was not in the e-mail, nor was it in any of the instructions I saw when I began the test.

It further said that it was required to answer 23 of the 25 course environment questions correctly -- 92% or better. However, the E-mail said the required score was 20 out of 25 questions -- 80% or better.

It further stated that the required score on the course content was 20 of 25 -- 80% or better to pass the exam. However, the E-mail said that this part of the exam wouldn't even be graded and was "optional."

The website stated that office hours on Saturday for the school were 7 am to 6 pm - which apparently meant California time. I called at least a dozen times leaving messages but could not get anyone on the phone until 8:30 California time. I asked to speak to a supervisor so that I did not have to repeat my story more than once. I was told that the supervisor would not be in until 10:30 California time -- 11:30 in Phoenix. I had an appointment at noon, but I pushed it back an hour and waited to hear from the supervisor. No one called.

Finally, I called back about 11:45 and spoke to "Luis," the same person I had spoken with earlier. He said that the supervisor was not coming in today, and I would need to try back on Monday. I asked why he had not called me back to tell me the supervisor would not be calling, rather than leave me sitting at home waiting for a call that was never going to call? Luis had no explanation, but simple said he "apologized."

Meanwhile, I am running out of time to get the class done, and apparently will now need to sit through another actual class, after already spending 6 hours taking the class from GoToTrafficSchool.com. I think they really need to improve their customer service, and be consistent and accurate in the information they provide to consumers. I don't know at this point what will happen with my fee to take the class, but there is no way they can give me back my 6 hours, or my discomfort.
