I paid for the services of this company, but they never informed me that not all websites would function. I called them and explained the situation, and they said that I have already signed the agreement and there’s nothing can be done right now.

returned modem but no refund

I AM JUST TO UPSET WITH FREEDOMPOP, THEY GOT PAYMENT, SENT MODEM (WHICH I TRIED TO STOP IT BUT THEY WILL NOT GIVE UP A PHONE # AND YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR E-MAIL) NOW IT HAS BEEN RETURNED OVER 10 DAYS AND THEY WILL NOT ANSWER ANY E-MAILS. IT SEEM TO BE VERY GOOD PROGRAM FOR THOSE THAT TRULY NEED IT. I THOUGHT THE PROGRAM WAS A HONEST ONE (SO HURT BEING RIPPED-OFF TRYING TO DO RIGHT) PLEASE HELP TO GET MY MONIES REFUNDED. FIX INCOME PEOPLE HAVE IT HARD ENOUGH AND TRYING TO KEEP YOUR CHILDREN UP WITH NEEDED TECHNOLOGY IS EXPENSIVE.

Freedompop

Purchased four phones from this company, wouldn't refer a dog to this company, they are scam artist I had them turn 3 phone lines off, they turned phones off, but still charged my credit card each month, service is poor, the phones didn't work properly, and the phones you couldn't hear the other party on the other end, doing the 3months the phones never worked, im ready to file a lawsuit against the company, customer service sucks, this is the worst phone company ever invented, I want my money back.

freedompop sucks

I had several problems trying to use freedompop to work for over a month now & I'm pretty frustrated. For those that recently had money taken from them without permission or notice from Freedompop I would go through your bank & file a claim if they are refusing to give you your money back. Also, for those deciding to stay with Freedompop there is an option on the website I believe in the billing section that offers you to opt of automatically being charged every month.


I do have some great news for freedompop users. Theres another company called Chit Chat mobile. I've used this company for about a week or so. I've talked for a long time & the call did drop a few times but the clarity of the call was excellent. Chit Chat mobile is a little more expensive, but still way cheaper than big name companies like Tmobile, Verizon, etc. & there's more perks & features. Like Freedompop Chit Chat mobile also uses Sprint phones, but I believe you can use any Sprint phone except for the Blackberry unlike Freedompop where your stuck with four phones.

What I love about Chit Chat Mobile is that this has a regular phone service, just cheaper. The unlimited talk & text plan is only $22 & there's pic msg, voicemail & they also have a international plan for only $10/mo.

Beware...its a Scam

I ordered the mifi hotspot after talking to customer care amd reviewing the map they told me I would have coverage. However i got it and the only way it works is if I upgrade and drive 45miles west of where I live and even then its VERY VERY slow. I tried cancelling and you have to call them and Ive call 8times all with atleast a 45min wait then get discinnected as someone picks up! A total mess joke waste of time and scam! BEWARE

Ah, FreedomPoop, you are no more than the net scam to deduct money from your credit card once they signed up. I ordered 4g plan, which turned out way more charge than as they initially said: they always give you the least cleat answer to the exact number and go ahead, charge as much as they can. But the worst of all is their usage records that seemed to be frequently changed, withheld, manipulated so that the misguided clients go over their monthly plan limit especially in their last couple of days of their monthly cycle. That is the time when they try to take advantage of whatever your plan is on, and they charge your card without accurately informing you so. This is frightening. One of the reviewers commenting the company is on the verge of bankruptcy simply makes sense. Now I am getting the hell out of there with them after being hung up on by their incompetent phone agent when I inquired on the questionable records the data usage meter showed.

Freedom Pop a.k.a Masters of Evasion

They sent me a device (which I paid for in advance) and was never able to get service with. Tried to contact them so I could resolve this and if not, simply not get charged for service. I sent SEVERAL e-mails (which were never replied to) and called several times (On a couple occasions ... as another person above stated... I also waited up to 45 minutes) and NEVER an answer. It appears they are masters at taking your money and evading you. BEWARE

Rollover data has gone POOF!

I logged into my account one day to find that my rollover data has vanished. About 5 gigs worth. I tried to phone, email, and message them via their forum with no luck. One rep hung up on me. They refuse to respond or address the issue. I am about done with them. I advise everyone to stay away!

500 mb free / that is bullshit. I didn.t use data but they took every minute data usage and put 10bucks from my card acct. and keep take data usage I didn't use.

from few weeks ago I got feel something wrong and start tried beware using data. some time I don.t use phone for few days but they keep steal my money while phone sleep one side of my bed. today morning they send me message they top up 10 bucks. I call them and I didn..t use data like that and ask explain but one of rep told me international service bla bla ... but what international service ? I don.t got any international service and I didn.t order and that rep cannot answer.
this company is crazy .

Service stinks

The service sucked. The voice sound when receiving or making a phone call is choppy and disconnecting frequently. There is a bit of delays over the lines. Don't use it.

Fake Internet service

I purchased a htc 4 g phone from them that never worked correctly.after months of my complaints to them they sent me an RMA to return the phone to their fixit service,again months went by and after I complained verbally and in writing they finally sent me a replacement phone. A cheaper Samsung model which also didn't work.Again I complained to no avail. I still have the cheap Samsung device that don't work.in reviewing one of my credit cards this month I noticed that FP had charged my account $24.99 for what I don't know since I have never received a working phone from them.i immediately set up a dispute with my credit card company. First I got an email from the owner of their company promising to have one oh his techs help with my problem. The tech helped alright they immediately canceled my account. Then they sent me a survey asking how I liked their customer service.my response was a question ,if this is your idea of customer service, how do you stay in business?

Beware of Free Items

If it is too good to be true, it usually is. Like people calling your cell numbers for free diabetic meters that are "free".

Nothing is ever free. Don't get burned like I did.

Always check the internet BEFORE you fall into the trap of believing it is a great thing since sliced bread.

Most mobile service is not great anyways and I always choose the cheapest plan or phone. Wrong idea.

Only free phone is the government phone which you have to qualify for.

Can't make/receive phone calls and texts

I can only make/receive phone calls and texts when I use my own wifi. Can't make/receive phone calls and texts outside my house. Would not recommend freedompop to anyone.

SCAMMERS

Freedompop is a total scam and rip off. There internet service you will have to upgrade it at a cost to have almost adequate service. You'll also have to pay more for services when you find out the lower rate plan for data isn't enough for anything. Then to add insult to injury they raise their rates. You pay a high rate for very poor service and you get dialup speed.

Cheated out service charge for "free" phone never ordered

Charged me $30 fee for free phone I did NOT order when ordered ONLY WiFi data service. Customer reps did not credit my CC as promised and when I talked to my CC to open a dispute. Then FreedomPop denied my dispute even after I had presented my log journal of chronological events showing false promises by FreedomPop customer service [should be called customer disservice?] to my CC bank.

RIP OFF COMPANY

This company is recommended by Bob Rankin as being a great provider of wireless internet service.I guess even reliable people give out unreliable information.It took Freedom pop less than a minute to get my money and 13 days later I was still waiting on my equipment to arrive. I cancelled my service after 40 minutes on the phone and trying to understand 2 people that spoke poor English. I don't think Freedom Pop can be trusted. I an waiting on my refund now.If my money isn't refunded then the B B B will be contacted.

Worthless

Ordered their service with their iphone 5. Was able to make exactly 3 calls. App crashes constantly. Reset to factory defaults 4 times, reinstalled all apps, and got their app to work for a couple hours.

Their promise of porting existing phone numbers is false - when you try to do it, they say "no."

On hold for tech support yesterday, at exactly 60 minutes it went to voicemail. No one has called back.

Moral:
"The cheap becomes expensive."

Charged my account after service deactivated

Freedom Pop are scammers. The first month was suppose to be free. I ended up paying around $60.00. They send messages stating that they are crediting your account $10 when they are really debiting your accout. When you credit you add to not take away. I deactivated the account after the 30 day trial but realized 5 months later that they were still debiting my bank account. How can they charge for a service that was not rendered. I called them and they said they could only refund one month. I told them they were stealing peoples hard earned money and that I would file a disputed. At that point they agreeded to refund 3 months. I was told if I filed a dispute I wouldn't get any of my money back. Will never trust them again.

Think about it

I've a customer of Freedompop internet for almost 2 years. Their service is okay for the money that you pay, customer service however can leave a bitter taste since it is out of country. Buyer beware! This is the second upgrade that I've been through with them concerning their devices. The first time I switched from a hotspot to a router, and they kept insisting that they didn't have any routers. Keep in mind that the plans are different a hotspot device gives little data and pricing is more while a router (even though stationary) gives more data for a lower cost. After calling back multiple times I was finally about to get the routers. Now once again they are upgrading their network to LTE and it seems that they are acquiring Clearwire (I could be wrong, highly unlikely, but they are transitioning together). Anyways, Freedompop emailed out their notices that devices will need to be upgraded by 11/06/15 for continual service. The email offers 2 devices (hotspot and router) for the price of $39.99. Strangely enough again the router cannot be ordered using the link in the email or even through customer service. I've been given the run around between customer service and sales. So after much thought I'd rather get my service from a local company and pay the $15 difference for my sanity, my stress can only take so much. If you keep Freedompop after this upgrade... more power to you, you have way more patience than me.

Freedom is just another term for- a lot of time to lose

I dunno. I am almost ready to drop internet all together. I mean, the ave call wait time is 45 minutes- with Classical Victorian Music- and options to look up what I need on their site. Such irony because I couldn't get the site working. Such irony because my minutes ran out. SUCH irony because the device is not accurate in telling the user Data Used. Again, that idyllic Victorian music. I had thought my server had issues because that was the message- "no sir, you have overused your usage (oh that music have been the one documentary I watched and a few minutes of surfing), you are out of data" How can that be, my monitored my device, it listed. 1.5 GB left. "No, those are not accurate." So that was a selling point for me. "You can monitor it online." How fuck can I do that if I have no net, I should just take time out to neurotically go to the site every 30 mins? Also man, I ordered it on the 1st, it arrived on the 15th, when I talked to the last girl and said, so your free month will run out on the 15th of next month(?)- she said, 'no the 1st.' So then I just had to lose 15 days. "Yeah." And I can never trust the device right. "Yeah, don't look at that."

So each time I managed to finagle about 750 extra MBS out of them, but come on. This is a paper net service. I have had it for 3 days, I am sending the shit back asap. When inquired 'what if I wanted to send it back, how?' "You have to call back later." Mkay, so I will just pencil out and 1.5hrs out of my day to do that I guess. "Yeah."

I had researched a whole day to find and alternative company. Clearwire was hell, but still only 42 dollars a month (Yeah Sprint nabbed dysfunctional Clearwire and Sprint runs this this toy company. To think I could escape. I remember a time when people actually wanted to sell you something. But each company kicked me around to diff compartments, I lost days man.

Well I will give it a shot later. For now I have my music and my rolling tobacco. I am using the last of my data to write this, this piece about a toy company. A company that has made my life shorter. -KOKO

Freedompop is a common thief

Since November of 2015 freedompop has billed me multiple times each month. In November it started with being double billed which was easily understandable. Then in December it happened again on Christmas eve this time both happening the same day. After another call to "customer support" a joke for sure I was told a refund had been processed. Well the day I expected the refund I instead woke to find no refund and my service was cancelled. So another call to their incompetent "support" had me ready to catch a plane. I was informed that even though they had 2 payments one of which was actually a larger amount than the bill was that to return my service I would have to make a 3rd payment then they would put in a request for 2 to be refunded. After lossing it briefly I asked for a supervisor who took it from bad to illegal in my opinion. She actually asked me for my card info and when I refused and stated I was not paying another penny she lied and told me it was just for verification on billing. After repeating several more times do not charge my card I reluctantly gave the card info and was placed on hold while she set up the refunds and reactivated my account or so I was told. Instead she returns and tells me she needs a different card because that one was declined. I must admit I got vocal and mean with her. I asked again for her supervisor and after waiting on hold for 10 minutes waz told they where unavailable at the time but would call me back in 30 minutes. Lmao! Like I'm stupid! Plus if I recall I didn't have service for them to call right?! At that point after saying it normal. Twice had to yell at her that no I was not going to wait for a call that to put me on hold since I had nothing but time to spend on them cause they weren't getting another dang penny. Well after 2 hours of this I finally had someone who was supposedly fixing all their mess ups. Oh I almost forgot to mention that during the conversation with rep#2 I was informed that because my account had been cancelled due to billing issues (lack of payment if you can believe it. They had tried to charge a third time but it was declined) I had forfeited my plans because they no longer offered the 15.00 unlimited data or the free talk and text I had been on for the last year. This I didn't not accept since I was not at fault and they had wrongfully cancelled my service. Well rep#3 says she's got it all handled refund processed and account activated with original plans. Okay cool I think especially when I received my refund a couple days later. That was until I was charged again on the same day I received the refund. So instead of calling the incompetent squad back I sent a email to support about the newest charge (if you've kept track that made 3 actual processed charges and 2 declined attempted charges. A total of 5 times they had put charges to my card in less than 2 weeks.) So after finally receiving prompt responses and a speedy refund with a very apologetic email and the promise the issues had all been corrected. Well lets jump forward a week and find that again on the same day I was billed 2x's for different amounts and this time the response to my email about it was a list of the charges and refunds and declined charges I already had on my account. Like I didn't know and hadn't went through all of it in the email I sent. But nothing about their double billing me again or about a refund not even a half a** apology. Well after going back and forth for several days I am reluctantly given a refund for the incorrect amount they gave me back the cheaper charge that was actually my monthly total and kept the larger over billed 2nd charge and actually acted like I wasn't saying that was incorrect. Well again history repeated itself and the day I received refund they charged me yet again. More days of fighting with them and during this time realizing that not only was my bill not due for 2 more weeks but that I was not on my original plans but had been unknowingly lied to and placed on a much higher monthly data and talk/text plan and my bill would be almost double what it should be a month. So after more fighting with them for a refund and my account to be corrected I received another email that I was being refunded and that fixing my account wasn't their department I'd have to contact someone else! But that my billing issues had been fixed. I guess that meant fixed until the 5th (3 days later) when they billed me again this time for that almost double the correct monthly amount. So once again between 1/25/16 and 2/5/16 i have been billed 4 times for a total of $101.93 for what should be $20.99 and have been refunded $45.97 back but had to fight for it back. And the best most awesome part is that through all of this and since starting service with freedompop I have been opted out of the auto top-off feature. So as anyone can see freedompop is nothing more than a scam to obtain peoples bank and credit card information so they can Rob them at will and outsource their "customer support" jobs to India so that their none English speaking or understanding incompetent reps can lie, cheat and steal from you when you try to put a stop to it. I have bank statements and emails to back up and verify everything I have went through with this con game their calling freedompop hopefully if I post on enough blogs, forums and social networks there will be others that have been tortured and robbed by freedompop and one day our pain and loss will finally put this con-pany out of business and its founder behind bars.
