Freedom PopSamsung Galaxy S3 United States, Missouri freedompop.com
Samsung Cell Phone
I bought a Samsung Galaxy S3 from freedompop and signed up for service. About 3 weeks later the phone died, dead in the water. Wouldn't turn on or do anything. I tried to logon to my freedompop account. It said wrong password or e-mail. I tried the "forgot password" on their site. They sent an e-mail link to reset my password. I tried that. Now I'm not stupid, I have used a computer and internet for many, many years. After I reset my password, I went back to freedompop.com and tried to logon. Same problem, invalid e-mail or password. I then e-mailed their Tech. support with the logon problem. I received an e-mail saying problem resolved. I tried to logon again. Same problem, invalid e-mail or password. I know my e-mail address very well and I reset my password with a new one and wrote it down, on paper. I never could logon to my freedompop account. I found freedompop's phone number and called them and told them what the problem was. They had me try a factory reset, didn't work. Then they said it was the battery. I said if it would go through, at least to try a factory reset, it wasn't the battery, hard headed asian sounding person. sent me a battery. Didn't work. I got really pissed off. I wrote my attorney general and filed a complaint. I filed a complaint with the BBB. After about a week freedompop sent me return instructions and a RMA number. I sent the defective phone back and they are sending me another phone. Freedompop's phone service was okay and I loved the phone. except when I would call anyone, I could not hear them but they could hear me. After doing a lot of research, I found that this is an issue with the Samsung Galaxy S3. I installed an app called "truecall" and that seemed to fix the problem. But, I'm not so sure that I want to use freedompop's service anymore. From what I hear, if you try to flash a freedompop phone with the stock firmware, it would most likely brick your phone. I would like to use it with Straight Talk. Which is far, far better than freedompop. Anyway I'm supposed to get a new phone in a few days. Why is the Government letting people like freedompop get away with customer support like this.
