Disgusted

Well, my story is similar to "So Disappointing". I purchased a voucher via Groupon. After trying to contact Evoque for 2 weeks I finally got through and was told that Groupon sold Evoques vouchers 2 weeks earlier and that the salon had not yet opened. Anyway, I finally booked in for my medi-pedicure. Whilst there I noticed the girls stating to clients (on the phone) that not all their equipment had arrived as they had just opened up. Anyway, my medi-pedicure was ok..... I would not brag about it.

The two ladies who appeared to be the owners/managers were not professional at all and did not look like beauticians at all. Actually, they were far from beauticians by their look and were fat, frumpy and looked up kept. Their staff were different though, you could tell just by their look that they were professionals. Nails done, make up, immaculate. I was just glad that the the two frumpy ladies did not give me my medi-pedicure.

Before I left the salon I booked in for my microdermabration treatment to take place on October 20. On October 19, I got a phone call from the salon stating their microdermabratoin machine had not, as yet, arrived and that they would contact me once it was in. I gave them my phone number and was assured they would ring me.

Approximately 2 weeks later I rang them and they told me the same story, they were waiting on the machine and would ring me....blah blah blah.......I thought ok they are new at this and having some minor problems. I thought they were genuine.....

Anyway last week I rang them again to see what was happening and was told that the machine would be coming in anyday. I told them that I have been told this story for the last 2 months. They reassured me that they would ring me (and repeated my mobile number) as soon as I could go in.

Now, this is the interesting bit..... I rang them yesterday so I could book in for another medi-pedi cure as I have a function on Saturday. To my surprise there is a recorded message saying they are closed for renovatoins and dont know when they will re-open. How dumb are they. With renovations you are always given an approximately time of completion. Also, if you just move into a building two months ago, why would you be renovating?

The recorded message further stated that I could contact their Watergardens branch. It also went on to say that I could leave a detailed message on a mobile phone number or contact their sister company. I contacted their recorded message suggested I contact and this is what I got.

1. The mobile number does not allow you to leave a message.

2. The phone numbers for their sister company is basically an answering service because all I keep getting told is that they will e-mail them and someone will ring me back. They never do. Oh, they did also inform me that the Watergarden Store will open in January. Hello, my function is tomorrow and I need my nails done tomorrow, not January.

Now, why on earth could they not ring me on my mobile number to tell me the above when they had my number and assured me they would ring my mobile number when they had their microdermabratoin machine in. Surely they knew of their purported renovations when I rang them last week.....

On, by the way, I contacted the Brighton salon and they said I was welcome to attend their salon to redeem the vouchers. I really appreciate this, but Brighton is not convenient.

Now I have found out from a friend that these lovely ladies running Evoque had previously opened up in Caroline Springs and after a few months had closed down. Apparently they had a problem with the lease and could not open up in Caroline Springs. Why on earth would you sell vouchers (door to door) without securing a lease. My friend was lucky enough to get a refund.

To top it off, I have tried and tried to contact Groupon (where I originally purchased the voucher from) to see if they could help me or suggest away to contact the frumpy ladies, only to get a recorded message saying their staff are busy answering other calls and the wait time was 12 minutes. I hung up after 30 minutes. I rang back again this morning and 9.01 a.m. and got the same thing.... Their staff are busy.....I have emailed Groupon but of course, just my luck no reply.

Where do I go from here.

I seriously want to lodge a complaint at the office of fair trading.

To "So Disappointing" above, if you have a contact number/email address for thsi Feddie person, could you post it on here so I may try to contact him/her.

Update...

Latest update.. Evoque are opening up at the fenix gym watergardens. Fenix don't know when they are opening up but are starting to take bookings... They also gave me a phone number for Feddie and said "good luck trying to contact him". I rang Feddie and of course his/her there was a recorded message saying I was unable to leave a message. These people should seriously be out out of business.

So Disappointing

After purchasing a voucher in March to use at the Caroline Springs location, I made many attempts to contact the store. I was unsuccessful so went there in person to only find that it closed down. Made many more attempts to contact Brighton and the head office, with no success. I emailed Feddie from the office, who replied over a week later with a sob story about the closure, but a new Sydenham store would be opening soon. Well, Finally in November, I did get a call back (Yes months down the track) and made an appointment. Most equipment not available for the treatments I purchased, but did have a rushed facial, and IPL treatment (not in correct area, mind you.) Anyway, showed up for my next appointment today, to find that this store was closed until Feb, apparently for renovations, with no courtesy call to let me know, after having to organised a babysitter. Left a message on the number left on the door, but cannot leave a mobile number as they cant make mobile calls. Sorry, your a business, since when don't businesses call mobiles. I won't hold my breath for a call back!! I want my money back in full. I don't care if I have used a couple of the treatments, the hassle you have caused in the first place wont even be compensated with a refund!!!

Hi I use to work at the Evoque in ringwood and I agree with everything you are all saying and it is so disappointing! It was a new salon and my boss Feddie was screwed in the head!! He probably signed us to about ten different scoopon groupon deals even though we were already booked up, he would even sign us up to deals that included treatments that we didn't even have the machinery for or the training!! We would never have support from upper management or sometimes no receptionist, always ran out of stock and there was nothing we could do about it as we never had petty cash or even cash in the till! We would constantly have calls from scoopon or groupon clients asking us when the Brighton or sydenham store will open and all we could do was ask them if they wanted to come to ringwood? Salons were not functioning because he never paid his staff so one by one we left! He always had distributors coming in looking for him and the money Feddie owed them.. We tried our best to fit and squeeze everyone in even though it ment we worked back to back non stop in ridiculous timing.. I'm so sorry for everyone who had bad experiences with Evoque and hopefully you understand that it was not the therapists fault. He also has a few other salons under the name insight body that are also with no therapists due to the pay situation! Don't ever support this man or buy deals from his companies!

Evoque Beauty Ringwood is a terrible excuse for a business. I purchased a groupon deal for 4 spray tans and after 5 separate booking (all of which were cancelled last minute) I am yet to receive any of my tans. The company send a text message an hour or so before the appointment to cancel (not leaving you time to get booked in elsewhere before your occasion), asking you to call to reschedule, though they do not answer the phone or the door if you go down there. I do not know how a business can run this way!

So Disappointing

Bought vouchers from deals website but evoque was the worst. The therapists are great just only could not get though to the office. I did my first session before end of the year and booked another one yesterday 31/1 but a Asian guy called and said that the therapist went home sick so he is calling all clients who have appointments after 3pm to the number and reschedule again. I did straight away and no answer so I left a message for them to call back. They didn't so I called the number again and it's now disconnected. So I tried calling the guy his mobile since he has called id when he called me and went to answering machine after several rings. Looks like I'm not going to have my second treatment and so tempted to drive over to Brighton and see if the shop still exist or closed down! I have made a complaint to scoopon and hopefully they can contact them! Feels like scamming after reading all the comments

I use to work for Evoque just left recently. The Asian guy you spoke to would have been our boss Feddie most likely and he is lying, there are no therapists their at all and all the Evoque stores (Brighton, ringwood and Sydenham) are currently closed mainly due to the fact that he has not got enough money to pay his staff and run his business.
So sorry that you had to go through that, your best option would be to get a refund from scoopon as I wouldn't trust his company or email [email protected] she is manager and will contact you with when they will have new therapists..

We should all go to a current affairs!! I'm not joking. I know a few distributors as well who he owes thousands of money too and all us staff want to as well.

Keep trying to get a refund from groupon or email [email protected] and she will tell him, as they are together all the time.

looks like all the salons have closed now, all the phone lines are disconnected. Ridiculous. I agree with all of you re how bad this place is. I had a really good therapist the first time I went but my experience since then has been disgusting. Just cancel your appointment by text and say call to make another appointment now the phones are disconnected... what a joke. Don't know if Scoopon will refund my money even though i have only used 1/4 of my voucher.

I purchased through groupon for treatments to be done at evoque however when I try to make an appointment the phone lines are disconnected!!! I've tried to callgroupon as well many times over the last week and am left on hold for very lengthy times and still don't get to speak to anyone!! I want my money back! Does anyone know how I can achieve this??

i used to work for feddie over ayear ago in Caroline springs, and i am still waiting for several thousands dollars worth of unpaid wages backdated from over a year ago! (plus super +tax) he was "unable to pay us but wanted us to work untill he found the money and promised us the money" its horrible to see this happen and i did warn my clients about him, and the "new" therapists from the ringwood store who did not listen to me when i called several times to tell them what he did to me and 8 other staff members wo is also waiting on their pay. i have tryed to contact ACA and Today Tonight, they really dont give a shit, heads up, ive been arguing my case with the ombudsman victoria i cannot say my name due to legal/privacy issues but maybe some remember me. ive been fighting this for over a year and still waiting for this money, which completely screwed me around i was working 60+ hours per week, like a slave!, if you are owed money or have delt with him or have worked for him and are still owed wages. PLEASE contact the ATO or ombudsman victoria, to put everyone smissery out of everyones heads! now you realise why they never picked up the phones because there was new staff every week!!!!!!! if anyone has had issues PLEASE PLEASE TAKE IT FURTHER. just a warning!

Scoopon confirmed that that they have closed down and in the process of getting merge credit refund so I can use in other further purchases.

I would like my money back from Scoopon also but for some reason they will not respond to me. i have emailed them 2 times re this issue. Obviously they know what's going on and they have, I am sure had many complaints about Evoque so they need to respond to their customers. I have many friends that refuse to use Scoopon now and i am also considering not using them.

Hi LAC complain, did you send a request to Scoopon via https://helpcentre.scoopon.com.au/home because I log a request through that site and someone get back to me via the website 2 days later. Everything was resolved in less than a week and so far they have been pretty good.

Scoopon is chasing up the owner Feddie Magallanes, as he owes them 30 grand due to all the refunds and looks like they are having trouble getting it from him so this may go to the courts!
Staff is also going to the media with this as he still has not paid payments

Hi I purchased a disturbitor franchise from Feddie last May & till this day still waiting for stores to distrubite to. He has also stopped paying me as he owes me $30, 000 & refuseses to refund my money. How cruel can he be as I have a child to maintain & he does not give a f***!!! Where are u Feddie I want my money back. Can anyone help in trying to locate him & get my money back as I am very angry. Please help!!!

He is actually being chased by all the group buying sites he has done deals with as he never delivered products. He is about to launch his website offers and deals with Alisha and and his father in law James. He will be using the databases from the Evoques to sign up people.It's just another scam and he needs to be stopped!!!

Thanks for that other info Joseylee I will try to submit my request to Scoopon again, i think they have had problems with the website as i have sent 2 messages and no response. I bought the same deal and I just called Groupon regarding it. I did wait for ten minutes on hold however when I finally spoke to a lady, she was helpful and going to refund my money back thank god.
What a waste of time. Im now really wiery of buying things on these sites.
I also have had problems with other purchases too.
They are all too good to be true!

So Disappointing

To all of the above commenters. I would like to shed a little light on the subject. Whilst there have been a lot of clients of the salons who have been disappointed that they have had difficulties with vouchers, treatments and appointments, the comments above don’t accurately reflect the entire situation. Unfortunately there are several factors which have contributed to the situation which have not been outlined here. I don’t feel the need to divulge all the details but there have been business relationships, investments, some staff and consultants who’s impact on the company have had a devastating effect. As you may all be aware the GFC has impacted many businesses and you only need read & see in the media to know of all the companies which have been forced out of business. Some of these are headed by fraudulent dishonest individuals who have caused this and fled. Then there are some, like Feddie, who are still fighting to rectify the situation and have not disappeared and stolen money. This may sound like an excuse and you can choose whether to believe it or not. The commitments to staff, customers, distributors etc. which have been made will be honoured. All staff have been advised of the financial situation and told that they will receive all they are entitled to. All customers who have contacted through the correct channels have been advised that vouchers will be honoured. I am going to refrain from slander as it does not provide any positive impact on the situation, I also do not feel the need to hide behind anominity so if anyone would like to discuss their personal situation please feel free to contact me.
