Harrassing calls/Calling references

For f**ks sake, no business is obligated to serve you in any way, unless they are government-Easyhome is a privately run business. It looks like you have dollar signs in your eyes, expecting a big payout from a "discrimination" case. It would appear that there is far more to this story than what you are telling-what did you do that made the manager feel you are a bad risk?

Also, please learn to spell.

EasyHome Scam

I would agree they are the worst store in the world i have bought out a laptop a bed and a playstation3 with this company and now that im a lil late with my last payment on my tv set hell they are threatening court action...good luck with that for i will have it paid off before that date comes...it just makes me sick for im sure with all i bought through them i probably could have bought a brand new car by now and they are so unforgivining if you get a lil behind, , so yes people stay away from easyhome go to aaron's i find their staff and service is so much better then this place ...my tv set retail right now is 195 and so far i have paid i have paid over 4700 for this tv set..i owe 90 dollars on it ...so whats that over 1000 per cent interest, if you were to borrow 2000 from a loanshark he only wants 4000 back but when you buy a 200 tv from easyhome they want 5000 for it and if you dont pay they want it back even if you only have one payment left...if you dont pay a loanshark back he is usually more understanding then easyhome..easy home should be regulated on their prices ...as far as i am concerned this is just a legalized way of loansharking...so easyhome can just take advantage of people who are old or those who had a bad credit report well stick it easyhome i am an arron's girl now...

EasyHome Scam

My roommate is paying $3500 for a WELL USED 50" Samsung plasma tv which was obviously taken from the floor display. I had purchased my 42" LG LED from Future Shop the week before for $750!!! He's paying way in excess of a premium price for a piece of yesterdays technology. Not only that, when they delivered the TV they brought a receipt and paperwork for an LG tv. I am fairly sure there is some sort of SCAM going on at the ORANGEVILLE, ONTARIO EASYHOME STORE. It makes me sick to see people taken advantage of. The guy doesn't have much and just wants to make his life a bit more comfortable

Prices, Service, Everything

I just got things from easy home and I went in and made my 3rd payment in cash for a month. Everything was good while I was in the store and for about a week after that. Then I started getting calls from the store telling me my payment was late, although I had already paid it. They have called me about 4 times a day even though I went into the store and showed them my reciept that said i was paid up. They said they have no record of that payment and that I need to pay it in full or return the items. They are now going to my parents house and banging on the door making threats about bringing the police here. Can they do that? and what do I do about the money I paid and they say they cant "find"?

Harrassing calls/Calling references

Really...if you make your payments on time, there would be no reason to call you.

As far as the markups, the company has to cover costs of people that ruin or steal merchandise. There are giving you (general you) a $1000 TV for $30 week and TRUSTING that you will come in and make your payments. Its a VERY risky business that is serving people who don't have the ability (whether it be finances or credit) to go to some place like the Brick or Leon's. No one is forcing people to shop there. If you don't like the terms, save up your money and go buy it outright from another retailer.

EasyHome Scam

I had leased a iPad they told me that I would only be able to get the display model. After waiting 3 days for them to set up the iPad which I could have easly done I finally get it deliverd to me just to find that the whole back side is all scratched and dented beyond belief. When I took it back to the store and told them that I refuse to pay full price for something that is already damaged... The clerk said the only thing I can do for you is lower the price by $3... Keep in mind that I was paying almost $1200.00. It's not that I can't afford the damn thing it was just a spontaneous purchases, the next day I went out and bought an 74 GB ipad 2 for $650.00... My mother leased a 43" television not even 2 months latter the thing does not work anymore. Take it back to get it replaced and they give me a 40" for the same price as what I'm paying for the 43" just as a replacement... This place is a damn joke ... Never use them for anything

EasyHome and cops

I have leased some things from easy-home. and now I am one month late and they send over 2 repo guys and 6 cops to get there stuff, and also threatening to charge me with theft or something like that. they called my mom and dad, landlord, and whoever else they know about. Is this legal for them to contact my landlord even though we never gave them as a reference??? and the reason they called the cops is cause they said I was intimidating them and this dude is like 7 feet tall 300 pounds and he was scared of me he got in my face, so I told him to back off or I will slap him. than he told the coppers I said I would stab him which i never said. than the cops got here there was 6 or 7 of them here standing outside my door. So now they are threatening me with court and criminal charges if I don't pay. I'm pretty sure this is illegal for the company to threaten like that. what do you folks think???

Response

Starting with the most recent and working back:

Teamwolf: If you are no longer making payments, easyhomes policy is to pick up the products and hold them until you can afford to get back on track. If you had 6-7 cops show up with Easyhome you must have given them a reason. Police will not assist on repossession as it is a civil matter unless they have a reason, i.e threats of violence or fear for ones safety. Also they are allowed to contact you landlord as per your lease agreement and document you signed upon applying for the products you were/are leasing.

kyleanderson: A drop of $3/week would be a savings of $300-$400 over your lease agreement, and if you had a 43" it would of been a plasma tv, and it was probably switched out for a 40" LCD as they dont make LCD's in 43" increments.

Rawlins1981: If you made your payment you will have a printed receipt that can only be generated by the money being put into the system. If the payment is still not showing up, it would be a software issue that would be followed up through the software tech's that are always available.

Mark3960: It is not a secret that you can purchase products cheaper at retail stores. Easyhome even states this in their flyers/lease agreements. If you decide to lease to own, you will pay more for the product you want now, in order to get it without having to save up. You are also getting warranty for the entire term of the lease, and if the product breaks and is non-repairable, easyhome replaces it with a similiar tv. If you had bought a tv and had it break after 13 months, you would be out that money, where-as easyhome replaces it or repairs it. As for the paperwork, if you asked them it was more than likely a mistake when entering things into their system.

Merritville: You are clearly stupid. You complain about easyhome as a rip off, and that you could of bought a car instead of making payments, yet you recommend Aarons which is the same style of business. Also, Easyhome's normal mark up ranges from 2 to 3 depending on the products, so there is no way you would make $4000 in payments on a $200 item.

EasyHome

Paying on a personal computer and started having problems with it so I sent it in to be repaired. This is my second time getting it back with an expense to me(taxi`s 4 times)Computer still works like a car with dirt in gas tank.Today I was treated like crap when I went into store .I have over 30 yrs. in customer serv902ice and the woman who waited on me definitely needs customer skills,if ever there was a bitch it was her.My payments are up to date and recently considered purchasing other large tickets items when I pay off what I have now...NOT NOW.EASYHOME SEEMS TO BE ALL ABOUT PROFIT AND NOT SATISFIED CUSTOMERS.I left Aarons as a gold customer and went to Easyhome, huge mistake. All I want is a pc that works and good service as a paying customer.

Ripped Off

(To Easyhome Regional Manager)

Horrible.This is what happened.

I had sent in an email earlier and this is a follow up of what happened when my son went into to make 3 weeks of payments which are $32.54 per week which equals $97.62. They charged me $239.24. The ticket number is 002617 A huge difference don't you think This is a horrible way to treat a customer, rip them off by over $142.62 when my payment wasn't due until next week. I told them I would be paying monthly but they kept calling, sometimes 5 times a day, that is not allowed and why are they doing that when I had made payment arrangements on a monthly basis.

I think you better look at the people you have running your store here. And a guy with an Easyhome truck showed up here on Friday while I was at work my son told me and said he had a paper for me. Why? My payment was not due until next week.

I do not want to be harassed by your employees anymore. My payments have been up to date and they were told I would be paying monthly. Just to give you an example, I would go in and make my payment and they would be calling me the next day about a payment that wasn't even due and not late. What is wrong here?

Harassment is not part of good customer service and ripping customers off is illegal. You have my phone number so please give me a call and talk to your employees and tell them to stop calling me 3 to 4 times a day, everyday when my account has been up to date. It is there responsibility to know when the customer has told them when they are going to pay. And another thing, they never even gave me a contract and then they told me that insurance was mandatory, how can you do that?

I did not want the insurance and wanted to opt out and they told me that I had to take it so that raised my bill. My sofa was $22.00 dollars a week plus hst of $3.30 so my weekly bill should be $25.30. And the weekly insurance is $7.24 which is excessive to me. I was not even told about the insurance, I was waiting in the car and my son went in and made the payment and it was $32.54 and I said that's too much so I went in and was told it was insurance and I had to take it.

Why was I not informed of this, why did they not show me that in the contract, why is it mandatory when you can opt out of insurance with other companies, even banks. What's going on here.

I wasn't given the contract, my sofa was a day late. They will rip you off, do not purchase anything from them

Payment

I had my computer paid off that I got from Easy Home, then I get a letter saying I owe 988 and some change. When I asked for receipts the digital copy they sent me was missing the very first couple of months that I had made payments on it, and when I compared with my bank statements it shows that they have been stealing from EVERY debit card payment I made, some times up to 100$ difference. And are now trying to sue me. They are not getting anything from me.

Way over priced

unfortunately the fact is that Easy Home preys on the low income and people with bad credit, this is a fact. Nothing you can do about it except boycott Easy Home and force them to have better rates. I understand that they need to make their money how ever prices for used equipment is outrageous. then add on the retail price, insurance then the rental and you will see that they are soaking people and there is nothing you can do because they have the monopoly, after they bought out RAC locations prices doubled.

The ONLY way to beat this company is stop renting from them.

Very bad company

I was a Easyhome customer about a year ago. I had called the company and asked them to come pick up there items, they refuse to do so. I went out of town for a church event returned home and my landlord thur out everything that I purchase from Easyhome . I am now response to pay for items that I do not have. I get harassing phone calls. Threats about the police coming etc. I try to pay them what I can not to mention that they receive most of their items . Is there anything that I can do about these phone calls and threats???

Easy home customer

i have asked easy home to come get there stuff. They refuse to pick up the merchandise but threatens to file charges against us for embezzlement. It is a rent to own place... Can they make us keep the stuff if we cannot pay for it anymore?

Do not buy

Late a payment

I had bought some furniture but got behind on a payment. I had asked easy home if I can make the payment on a certain date. They declined saying if a payment was not made they would pick up the furniture in a few days. They had also called my landlord and came by my house twice.

Normally if your behind on payments and contact the company they make an arrangement but with easy home they are rude and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. The only reason I went with easy home was because I had no choice at that time and now I feel I have made the worse mistake ever.

MY RECOMMENDATION TO ANYONE :
DO NOT BUY FROM EASY HOME.

JUST PLAIN UNREASONABLE

They start calling me days before my payment is even due, on my cell, my home phone and my work number. It is annoying and intrusive. You must have to pass some sort of an asshole test in order to work there.

I have a washer/dryer and a set of lamps from them. I recently called them to ask what the buyout on the lamps is and was told they could not be purchased separately because they are on the same lease as the washer/dryer; I have to buy all of it at once in order to own anything. WHAT?! No one told me this at the time, nor did they tell me that the only way to avoid paying the insurance is to have their items on your homeowners/renters insurance. If I had money to pay for insurance, I wouldn't have had to deal with them in the first place! I told them I was going to return the lamps, then re-lease them on a separate lease, in order to get around their ridiculous rules. I also wrote a letter of complaint (waste of time). I got an email from the regional manager - some low-level idiot with a superiority complex - and they agreed to allow me to buy the lamps for $100 + tax. What a huge concession on their part. Since I am now wise to their ways, I made damn sure they didn't just re-write the original lease and have me start paying on the full cost of the washer/dryer all over again, without giving credit for the payments I already made.

This place takes advantage of people with poor/no credit. It's really easy for people NOT in this situation to just say don't shop there. some of us have no choice.

You can count on these people to leave out a lot of information. They have you sign/initial the contract without giving you time to read it beforehand. Then, later they can point out that you signed it and that you "understood" all these small-print details that they failed to mention.

Yep, it's a racket.

Normal wear and tear my fault

Stsrted renting a tv @125 a month , then a living room set @200 a month. I am moving so i asked them to pick it up , they tell me they are coming at a certain time , and come 2 hours before that . After knocking. At the front they proceed to the back. Enters starts to take a glance and says im not taking them and that they are my responsibility and i willl still have to pay. After the delivery guy trying to belittle me with his rude and disrespectful comments i phone the store and tell them what went wrong. The delivery guy said they were dirty snd damaged. Now if they were so technical it does say it is not my property untill its paid off , and any damage is to be replaced by them. The corners of the couch are ripping its a piece by piece sectional that rubs together and the wall when pushed to it. There was scrapes and bolts put together halfway when i got them, it is not my responsibilty for cheaply made furniture . Now im stuck with these items that i cant take . i did clean them more and they still denied to tske them. What can be done now?

Ripping off People

My mother bought a "used/repo table set for the store in Sydney NS.
It has been paid off but the store keeps taking money from her account. They even stopped at one point and started taking it out again the following month. The chairs fell apart after just a month or so, and calls to the store failed to do anything about it, she ended up having to throw them out. They still kept taking the payments. The store owner here "Steve" is a damn coward, he won't take phone calls and he "left the store" and "wouldn't be back for hours" AFTER I told them I was on my way in to speak with him.
I can't understand why these stores are still in business, there are endless! stories of them ripping people off.

I tell you, they won't see another dime from my mother, but they will be seeing me in court. I'm also going to ee about abuse against seniors. I'm sure there is a place that deals with scams against old people. And yes I will be going to the police if that's the path I need to take. The BBB as well will be hearing from me. I'm going to the news as well and see if something can be done to look into how this business is run. I hope they have all their I's dotted and their T's crossed. You ***ked over the wrong mother this time. I am relentless!!!!
