Life sentence! Don't do it.

We got scammed by them 6 years ago. We used it once, for which we paid an additional $500 for the week's holiday. We have paid off the initial amount, and $20 000 later just want to walk away. But we have to continue paying $200 yearly admin fees which we were NOT told about, for the next 14 years.

How do we get rid of this. We don't want it, will never use it, but they threaten our good credit rating if we don't continue to pay.

DON'T DO IT! You won't get anything other than paying a huge amount for the privilege of continuing to pay admin fees for 20 odd years.

Classic Holidays = Classic Scam!

Stay away from these scammers and save your money! Should you accept their scratchie 'prize' of 7 nights' 'free' accommodation (for which you will pay +++) your first challenge will be to claim it. I tried during work hours for 2 months. Hung up for the first month as line was ALWAYS busy. Then started to leave messages. Received recorded message replies out of business hours when I couldn't return their 'return calls'. Sat on my phone for 3 days in my holidays till I got through and held on till I spoke to dispute resolution manager. Oh, I could claim my prize if I changed my dates and paid an extra $100 on top of the $199 advertised fee, as 'the room you requested has been taken'. Of course! Tune changed when I threatened to report them to ASIC for false advertising. Could suddenly hold a booking and would even call me back to see if new dates would work. (I checked with my partner. They won't.) Bottom line? Forget it! Save yourself the grief and expense! You can buy a week, off peak, for the cost of the 'prize' and you can buy a ****load of accommodation for the joining fee of $25,000 +++ in annual fees and upgrades because the room / venue you want will ALWAYS be 'taken'.

Classic Holiday Scammers

I am usually pretty savvy to these types of scams but recently whilst walking through Chermside Shopping Centre in Brisbane I was approached by a very persasive salesperson whom had me scratch off one of their "winning scratch tickets". He then went on with a very scripted blurb about being the winner a holiday just by going along to a 90 minute seminar on travel and holidays & regardless of whether I purchased anything this would be my free gift just for going along. It was fairly apparent at the time this would be selling holidays/travel but I figured I'd have nothing to lose as I plan on travelling overseas this year anyway & I thought they may have some good travel deals & if I was going to get a free holiday out of it well why not? I thought I may even be surprised......Well surprised I was. It was even worse than I could have imagined. They said the presentation would last 90 minutes. It went on for over 2 hours even though I made it very clear early on I didn't think it was for me. The two sales people were absolutely relentless playing a tag team sort of game between them. One would excuse himself and then the other would come over & put his bit in. Their sales tactic or rather bullying tactic was just downright embarrassing. I can't believe that 2 people could be so condescending, rude & deceitful. Even if the product they were selling was actually good value (which it most definitley isn't) I would not have purchased it based on the way they conducted themselves. I would like to point also that on 3 different occasions (starting with Mr Smooth in the shopping Centre) that I am single & don't meet their selection criteria. He said "that's fine, we are now the only holiday company in Australia that allow singles to join". I reiterated this to the women on the desk when I went along to the presentation and also to the salesperson doing the presentation. All gave the same response. Well at the end of the prevention when I had finally gotten across that I am not interested they gave me a lovely glossy brouchure / travel voucher with selection of holiday destinations including Bali & Phuket. I could choose any one & it would cost me only a $199 booking fee (even though it was meant to be a free gift for coming along to their dodgy presentation). Well I called today to book my chosen destinaiton of Bali and was told I couldn't book as I don't meet their criteria & and that they have the right to amend or alter their conditions at anytime. I asked to speak to the supervisor who also said this and that I could send them a complaint email but basically that I won't get anywhere with it. Well after reading all the other reviews I'm pretty sure I don't want to stay in their 2nd rate accommodation anyway but I would very much like people to know what scammers they are. I count myself lucky that I could see that the package is a total rip off. I just really feel for the people that have actually signed up to this scam. I can't believe the ACCC still allow them to operate. If you are approached by this company I urge you RUN A MILE, NOTHING GOOD WILL COME OUT OF IT FOR YOU.
