HAIR DAMAGE-HAIR BREAKAGE-3 MONTHS-NOT HAPPY

""Since the TSV April 2012 I used my first bottle of Wen- the Tea Tree 7-10 times (3 months). It began taking my hair out and drying my hair and scalp. With very first use it tangled my hair and that caused hair breakage. Next use I went from cool water to rinsing it with warmer water... my hair was tangled all up again and more breakage. Not just breakage where the tangles kept occurring but I had hair breakage on the sides of hair in the front of my face on both left and right sides-- patches of breakage. Wen Tea Tree damaged my hair. After all this hair breakage from April to June, I went to the store Jun 20, 2012 and bought some John Frieda’s Repairing/Restoring Conditioner. The repairing conditioner went into action immediately doing just what it said-restoring, and when I washed it out... I had no tangles -- no hair breakage. Also with Wen conditioner I could never run my fingers through my hair smoothly while it was on my hair like I can when the John Frieda’s Repairing Conditioner is on my hair. Wen Tea Tree was a terrible product for my hair, but you live, you learn. I tried to be a good sport but three months of hair breakage I will never ever put tea tree in my hair ever again. I'm African American and my hair is fine to coarse and my real hair was already long enough- past my shoulders before using any of the Wen products. My ponytail was real thick before I started using Wen Tea Tree, now my ponytail is very thin within just three months. Wen Tea Tree did help keep my hair color from fading but it damaged my hair in terms of tangles and hair breakage. Customer service did switch me to pomegranate for my next shipment in July but I'm not even sure about Wen products for my hair at all. The last thing I expected was tangles and hair breakage. For, now I"m going to stick with John Frieda's Repairing Conditioner until my hair is repaired, the breakage stops, and that which Wen damaged starts growing back. I'm so insecure about the Wen products. I'm also ashamed and embarrassed because family members told me not to use the product. I wish Chaz would have said that Tea Tree is not for ethnic hair types, and I would have never had to go through any of this.""

wen hair products auto-renewal

i ordered from the canadian online wen site & did not realize at the time that an auto- renewal came with it till i received the product. i went to the site & cancelled it immediately, explaining i did not want any thing else sent to me unless i specifically ordered a particular item. low & behold when i checked my credit card today there was a charge for 58.56 pending for the next day. i was livid. i phoned wen canada & said i had cancelled the auro-renewal after receiving my first shipment & why was i being sent more product as the only product i have used is the cleansing/conditioner (which i still have plenty of) and the other items have not even been opened so why in heaven's name would i want more as i certainly don't want to hoard the stuff. they gave me a spiel about how they overlooked the cancellation & were so sorry but they had sent the product the day before & it was too late to cancel it. they said they were cancelling my account with them as we spoke. when i asked didn't they need my adress etc they said no, as it showed up on their end when i called so i hope it's true. i emailed my credit card company saying not to put through any more charges from wen & why. i only hope i don't get mired in a lot of mumbo jumbo like a a lot of people have who keep on getting charged for a product they don't want. it's sad that wen doesn't make it clear before you place your initial order from them that you are also agreeing to join an auto-renewal plan. it's sadder still that when their customers choose to opt out of the plan they don't respect their customers enough to honour their request. although i like their hair cleanser i will not order more from them what with the way i've been treated.

Bad Gut feeling

@strawberry 1978. The online web site for Wen products does not list or state that a reoccurring charge for 3 months will apply. I am a Customer Service supervisor and red flags went off immediately after ordering. I place my first order online and a second separate order over the phone that same day. Over the telephone they could not tell me why I did not receive a confirmation number via email for the second order. First rep said the system takes one day to update. The second rep said 48 hrs and later a supervisor told me 72 hours. I wanted to cancel one of my orders immediately so I could protect my card from being inadvertently charged automatically twice a month. During the phone order is the only time that they quickly tell you as they push sales to say "yes" out loud to the 3 month charges. i said wait...wait what did you just say. I do not want that. I want the ability to choose to reorder myself. The supervisor advised me that I wait till the order comes then cancel the reorders. My order will arrive in 2 weeks but I have 30 days. What they say over the phone is not consistent. They are evasive and ambiguous. I called again because I was talked off the telephone after wanting to cancel...they pretty much made me feel like I was a hostage already without even the product being shipped. I called back and made sure one of the orders was cancelled since the second order will not show up in their system until 3 days(I was told). Mind you I initially wanted everything until they became really evasive and would not give me the choice of opting out on reoccurring charges. I called my bank and both authorizations are still on. I now have to babysit and call back this crazy place that sound like outsourced individuals regurgitating vague policy that comes across as unethical so your red flag goes off. It was an unbelievable experience. Shady. Trust your gut feeling. I read these reviews afterwards. I will wait for the second order that they cant find until their system updates in 2 more days to be shipped out of curiosity to try the product. Two coworkers swear by it. But I will monitor my card very closely. Can you imagine someone telling you that after a product ships within 2 weeks you must call back to cancel then. By then ....second charges are being posted. It is the Gunther Renker customer service that Chaz is using that is damaging his brand. If I like the product or fall in love with it, I will still cancel the automatic reordering. I will go to QVC. It is very apparent that Gunther Renker outsources it Customer Service Departments and hold its customer's hostage by tying them up with its one-sided bulls*&# unethical practices.
