DO NOT BOOK, SCAM!
Approximately 18 months ago I booked a 2 night 3 day cruise with carribean cruise line. The cruise ship was the celebration. This was my husband and my first cruise so we only wanted a short one to see how we were going to like it. We have no other ships or cruise expereinces to compare it to. We had a good time onboard, the staff was friendly, the food was good and the facilities were clean and comfortable. After booking I had an accident & had 5 back surgeries so we couldn't take cruise. Our 18 months time limit was 10 days from expiring & I was finally able to travel. I called to book it and they did not have rooms available but we could extend & upgrade. My problem is with the booking agent. The woman offered me several different packages and prices. For $198 dollars we could extend for 12 months and include two romantic night in Ft. Lauderdale in a condo on the beach or 2 nights on Grand Bahama Island in a condo on the beach for $392 because it cost more stay in the Bahamas instead of Florida or for $498 we could add both. I would be reimbursed gas up to $100 since I was driving and all meals at the 5 star resort were included so I could pick up meal vouchers also. Then the next line told me that I had to schedule my tour time for Palm Beach Shores. I called the reservation center to question the tour because she neglected to tell me that i had to tour that resort. she told me that was where we were to be staying. I told her that I just wanted to cancel the two day stay because if I had known that I had to do that I would have said no. I wanted that refunded & we would just take the cruise that I had purchased earlier. They rudely told me that they were sorry for the misunderstandin but it was non-refundable and I had to take the tour to get my cruise tickets. So we went on & decided to endure ou two hour tour for the 2 night stay. We had been put in a room at the Ramada, no beach anyhwhere, The conditions were appaling, the buffet food was awful. I wouldn't eat. There was a group of homeless people living in the parking lot that approached you everytime you went outside, We were told not to place luggage on floor by window or if it rained they would get wet. Our tour was the next day and lasted 51/2 hours. It was 11/2 hours away from room. We had no condo, no beach. Beach was 15 miles away. So 81/2 hours of our romantic get away was tied up there. We got back to the room at 9 pm. My husband got sick off the food. N/V, diarrhea and cramps. The next morning we had to be out before 11:00 am to travel the 11/2 hours to board the ship. Our tour salesperson told us that we should have taken the Bahama stay and insisted that we be moved to a better place to stay because that place was a dump. Half of their tour time was used to calm down angry visitors. We did enjoy the ship and the bahamas. I want to be refunded my money for Florida and to have it made right somehow. I am not stopping here with the complaints. I am going up the corporate ladder until I have told my story to everyone. I am also going to post it on facebook, call better business bureau, Dept of Consumer affairs and write an article to be placed in the editorial section of every newspaper that I an get to print it. When did you go on this cruise? Do you think the money is worth it? I just paid $685 for my tickets because I got the 8 days 7 nights in florida/cruise, and I still have time to cancel. I guess they give you 3 days to cancel. So I need advice, please help!
