Stay away

Stay away from canadian van lines. It's a guy named James Johnson that works from home. They have multiple number in every province to call but they all go to this James. We booked with this company to move our items from alberta to bc. They sent a quote out and requested half up front to book they day (reasonable I thought). Now it came to moving day. They were suppose to arrive by 10am, no one, 11am no one. No call or email. So I called, was told the truck broke down but would be there for sure the afternoon. So afternoon came and went, no call or email. Called james again, he stated they couldn't make it but for sure would be there tomorrow, even said we would get $500 off, also confirmation was sent via email. Stated they would arrive by 10am for sure. So 10am came and went, 11am came and went. Once again no email or phone call. So I called again, who answers james of course. Said I can't wait any longer need my stuff gone so requesting a refund. So I had to rent a uhaul because I couldn't find a mover in such short notice and hire some guys to help me load. Talked with James he said he would give a refund and it was confirmed by email. Day came and went no refund. So over 100 phone calls, bbb, canadian fraud protection, demand letter via registered mail. No refund. So we have to go to small claims court which they are not going to show up for. So if you like your hard earned money or your belongings. STAY AWAY from

Do not hire Canadian VanLines

Do not use this company to move/store your possessions!they ask for a 50% deposit to secure the job, they are late with pick up, they don't pay the subcontracted companies they hire to move your stuff. Moved from ON to BC end of Dec and I still do not have my property. I had to pay the company they subcontracted to move and store my stuff to release my property to a new moving company before they "threw away my stuff for non payment from Canadian Van Lines". James and Greg from the company don't even have other offices only one in Vancouver. They don't answer calls or when they do they promise refund and weeks later no refund...

Stay far away if you like your hard earned money and a stress free life.

Worst Movers!

Please do yourselves a favor and DO NOT hire Canadian Van Lines!! Showed up late, delivered my furniture 23 hours late, with us just having to wait and wait and wait and then everything is damaged. More than 2 weeks after the move, and I'm still waiting for a claim form, which I now realize will not come. They also stop the unloading of the truck, if they don't get their payment - which happened as I realized things are so broken. No wonder BBB has such a low rating - pay attention to it!

I almost lost my entire household contents and personal belongings. They took my money for the move and storage, did not pay the storage company. I had to pay the storage company again. they booked the storage units in another scammer name. I have now extended the storage and hoping the put the storage units in my name. I have reported them to the BBB as well as Go public on BC.

The worst movers in Canada

We are taking this unprofessional moving company to court. We hired them in July 2015 to move our belonging from Canada to U.S. and pay them fully upfront. After lying to us for 3 months about when they would do the shipment, last month we decided to do the moving ourselves by renting a U-HAUL truck. They promised to refund us within a week in Oct 2015. But after a month they haven't done that. We have retained a lawyer and are taking them to court. This company is run by James, a professional liar, and two more people who tell you lie about everything. If you heard the name of Stephan and Greg, run and don't trust them either. They don't do the service and steal your money. They always ask for upfront payment and once they have your money them won't return your calls. If someone want to know more about these people I am willing to share my experience with about this company.

Attention

Stay away from this company. They provide unprofessional service and as I know they have only one truck which drives from one coast to another. It means you will never get an ordered service on time. You will get many stories about traffic jams or overheating engine or other ideas how to justify the delay. In addition all their offices at all provinces don't exist, if you try to visit them you will find renting office or even office of another company. If you call to any phone number form their website you will reach only one person James, how has deceived my friends with delivering and steal my money (deposit).
Be careful.

Terrible move

We had a terrible experience with this moving company. We were moving from Fort St. John BC to Toronto ON, we were told it would take 7 to 10 days for delivery. Our stuff was picked up 5 days late, and then were never able to deliver. We were repeated told delivery dates by James which were not met. Our stuff was unloaded from the truck and left in storage containers in Alberta for 45 days. We had to hire another moving company to go and get it from the storage containers, and bring it the rest of the way to Toronto. Nightmare experience.
