False advertisement


Here is what I have had to deal with, from the BBB web site...

Complaint: 01/06/2012: I purchased a diamond ring from this company 1/8/2011, it was given to my future wife on 1/22/2011, on 4/10/2011 a crack developed in the diamond. I have called and emailed the company over several months. They have had the ring sense 5/25/2011, I have tried to work with the company dating back to April 2011, On May 25th 2011 I told the company that I wanted a refund and would not pay to have a new, defective item repaired. I was finally told by Mike on 1/4/2012 that they were issuing a refund, only to be called on 1/5/2012 and told by John Sparks that he would rather go to court then to make a refund. The defect was not due to misuse or any alterations.

Business response: Good day. Customer had damaged the diamond ring after few months of purchase and as explained to the customer it would cost $250 for repair, customer agreed to pay the $250, however once we receive his ring, he refused to pay the $250. Since we notice that he was changing his words and now did not want to pay the $250, as a courtesy we did the repair for the customer out of our own pocket without charging him anything.

Consumer rebuttal: The Company’s response is a fabrication of the truth. I never agreed to pay for a repair of their defective diamond. There was no abuse, it was cracked internally. No other jeweler had worked on it, it came pre-sized. I have emails stating that I did not want the repair done, after researching this company, and the very poor customer service I received from them, I sent the ring back to them so they could see that it was cracked internally, I discussed this on the phone with Julia Anderson. I called the company many times to discuss the issue, and told them that I wanted a refund. I received a call from John Sparks after I filed this complaint, he said that if I sent anymore emails or called again that he would file a law suit against me for harassment. My next step is filing in Small Claims Court to have this resolved if it cannot be rectified here. I only want my money refunded, they have had the ring for over 9 months now, and if they have "repaired" it I 'm sure they can sell it again.

False advertisement


I agree 100%. I have a similar problem with Beverly Diamonds. Here is my personal experience with them.

I purchased a wedding set from Beverly Diamonds in February 2011 for $3, 173. In October of 2011,  the prong setting containing the center diamond BROKE off the ring.
I contacted them and after several days of conversation, they agreed to fix it, but I had to pay the cost of me shipping and insuring the ring back to them.

When I received the ring back, it did not look like the same ring, but it was of the same make and appeared to be the same size as the ring that I shipped, so I assumed it was a replacement.

My fiance and I are getting married on May 5, 2012 and I was looking at local places to take the engagement set and get it appraised a couple of weeks ago.I took both the engagement ring and the band to a local jeweler.

The local jeweler inspected the ring and found loose side stones, a fracture in the center stone ( most likely from it being clarity enhanced), a chipped stone in the wedding band (which has never been out of the box), and numerous issues with the metal work.

I contacted them again and they agreed to fix it.  I sent the ring back once more and they sent me a "new" set about a week later.  Upon receipt of the rings, I went back to the jeweler and put them under the loupe myself.  10 of the side stones in the new engagement ring are loose and I can move them very easily with the tip of a #2 pencil.

Needless to say, I am not happy with the quality of the replacement set and am now fighting with them to get my money back.  This is wonderful coming about a month and a half before our wedding date.

I had posted on their facebook wall, but they deleted it.  I have emailed and called several times in the past week. They wont respond to emails and no one will transfer call to anyone with authority.  I am beyond frustrated. Seems like once you figure them out, they ignore you and pretend you don't exist.

Great Services By Beverly Diamonds


I loved the experience I had with the team of Beverly Diamonds. I was lucky enough as I was able to customize my own ring. Initially I thought it might be a tricky but with the help of their online customer service and live chat option I was able to customize a picture perfect ring for the perfect girl in my life. I just proposed to my girl last night and guess what? Now she is my Fiance. I was so very happy to see that glitter in the eye of my girl when I popped the question and she kept saying that ‘the ring is perfect, the ring is perfect’. I am very highly obliged towards the entire team of Beverly Diamonds for making this a very very special day for both of us and I will always look forward to do business with you guys. Customization Was Perfect


I had my grandmother’s ring as a family heirloom and have been on the finger of every new bride in our house, so after my mom it was my wife’s turn. But as it was old we lost the small diamond on top. With Beverly Diamond I was able to customise my diamond on the ring and got back in perfect condition and the family tradition continues.

Really Wonderful Services


I went with my girl to choose the ring over the web. As it was online shopping of jewellery I hesitated bit, but looking at the collection and the revise by others I was satisfied and orders a nice glittering engagement ring for me and for my girl. We were lucky enough to get what we wanted and the ring looks even better in person. One of the best memories of my life.

Got my own ring the way I wanted


I was looking at many rings that they had to offer for sale. With so many options I was very confused as to which one to choose. Then I saw the option were you can customise your own ring. I was able to get in touch with the team and was able to choose my own diamond, and metal and setting of the diamond and the best part is, was able to do all in budget. Can’t thank the team enough.

Ripped off!


My fiancée was looking and had picked out the perfect ring she wanted at Beverly Diamonds but I had tried for three days to get a hold of anyone since their mailbox was always full and no one picked up. Finally I placed the order and inconviently had to go to two different places to print the receipt and fax it back. Fortunately it made it the next day so I could propose on Valentines Day. BUT The ring I order was supposed to be SI clarity and color F but it was far from that. The side stones were nice but the center stone was YELLOW like we couldn't figure that one out or something? We got it appraised and the color was K and he wouldn't feel comfortable appraising it. I don't blame him since it was a foggy, yellow, gumball machine looking diamond. I kept calling for a refund since we had 30 days to send it back when finally Matthew called back and he said we could either ship it back at our expense after spending over $3,000 or he had a VS2 clarity, color F beautiful diamond but we would have to wire $500 to get it. After my fiancée was pretty sad being engaged for a week and a half but not being able to wear her ring. We received the new "VS2" F color ring and we aren't stupid we brought it to get appraised again and what do you know. Color G!! Clarity SI2!! We ordered an F!! and S in the first placeI so we paid $500 more to get almost the ring we first ordered but a lower grade. They are the most scandalous company we have ever worked with. With the lies we kept getting they ruined a memorable time in our life because of their dishonest greediness. I highly suggest anyone who doesn't want to get ripped off or an engagement ruined to not buy from here.

Beverly diamonds


After waiting 37years to be able to give my wife the ring she desired , purchasing it from beverly diamonds was a complete disaster.
I paid 8758.00 for a ring that was yellow it suppose to have been a vs2 it was a 1-1. I was told if I paid an additional 2800.00 more I would get the ring I thought I purchased in the begging. They refused to give me a refund, I contacted them within their 30day refund policy, but that is worthless also. The ring is in my safe, never opened the box they refused the return, it is not worth wearing, it looks cheap. Don't buy before calling me first, Johnny Joyner. Greenville n.c. 2523271800
