Falsely accused of fraud
here' s a question: did you enter a contest for $5, 000 prize? - No!!
have you been living in a closet on the moon for the past 10 years? - No!!!
these scams have been all over the media and eveyone over the age of 4 knows that they are scams
resolution:
You got greedy!
you cashed a check knowing it was fake
you took the $$
now you will most likely go to jail for federal check fraud

Falsely accused of fraud
Pretty much what H8fatpeepL said. Your willful disregard and greed landed you in this situation. If you want to assign blame to someone, look in the mirror.

Report it to the authorities if your bank hasn't already done so.

Falsely accused of fraud
Bank of America is not responsible - they could have 'held the funds' in situ until they actually cleared but everyone already knows it's a scam; how much you want to bet that this same person sent $$ to some western union office to 'pay the taxes' on the $5k prize; what idiot thinks they have to pay taxes or fees B4 getting their prize?!!
