YOu need to read the links so you understand the process they are doing and why these companies do what they do. This one specificall is not about your van line but a recent one that was indicted in Colorado

Broken Promises/ SCAM!!!!

Our company regrets to hear of the expressed displeasure with the services provided. As the moving industry is one to prone to last minute alterations at any given time, please be advised that all documentation provided to customers to solidify moving arrangements outline company policies, terms of agreement and an estimate of service charges. We make our customers aware that all loads are picked up with reasonable dispatch and reasonable time and all dates provided are estimates due to the nature of the business indicated in the terms of agreement received at the time of booking. We regret we were unable to execute your relocation within your preferred time frame or as contracted.

Our records indicate that our office has been in contact with you in reference to your concerns and are currently working diligently in resolution. Our office will continue to follow up with you for the remainder of your move. We apologize for the delays and inconveniences that occurred in duration of your moving process and we appreciate the opportunity to work in rectification of your issues. Moving

oh looks like they're switching up their lies from "bad weather" to the "truck breaking down" have you even received your things yet? we were told they would come get our stuff on Sat Feb 11th then that turned into Sunday morning, then afternoon, they didn't show up till late Sunday night. We were told we would receive our things within 4 - 5 days and that the worst case scenario would be Feb 28th. Well its now March 7th and we still don't have our things. They keep giving us excuses like the weather is bad but I am not a dumb ass I checked the weather for where the truck is supposedly at and the weather is great! We were told last week that the truck had left New York, well when I spoke with the agents this Monday they said that the truck was still in New York due to "bad weather" which I checked and the weather is fine. So the truck has been stuck in New York for like 5 days now? They also won't give us any info on who the driver is and what truck company has our items, which they are in violation with the FMCSA, THEY ARE REQUIRED to let us know that information. We should have found this site and checked with the BBB before hiring these guys, and we won't be surprised if some of our things are stolen since thats a complaint that most people have with AVL.

Moving

Well, I spoke to American Van Lines today. They have decided to reimburse me for my hotel room, which is the only thing that cost me by the movers being late. I am very satisfied with their decision and will consider using them again in the future.

By the way, my items arrived in a timely manner. I was given a two week window, and they came a week after my pick up.

Broken Promises/ SCAM!!!!

Ridiculous!!! We have yet to receive our items from American Van Lines. I hope all future potential customers read this and AVOID AMERICAN VAN LINES. They are the worst company ever. It is March 13th and we have yet to receive anything from these scam artist. All we get is lame excuse after lame excuse, and lie after lie about the reasons why they havent fulfilled their end of the contract. Our "contract", whatever that means, stated that they would have delivered our things by Feb 28th (which is way too long, but they said that they needed that amount of time just incase of "unforseen" events. ). These contracts that they have mean nothing unless it benefits them. They should be obligated to compensate the customer 100% on the back-end for GROSS contract breeches, but yet all they do is compensate us 30 dollars per day that they are late. AVL needs to comp the rest of our moves and square up with United Transport (who they hire to transport your goods. Thats right, its not even AVL. SUch a shady scam) themselves.
I encourage anyone who needs to move to GO ELSEWHERE, and do research on AVL or whoever you are considering. I failed to and now we are paying dearly for it. Beware, the owner of AVL also owns several other moving companies so be careful that you dont get the same crappy service, just under a different name. For those who have been unfortunate enough to deal with AVL, please contact the Attorney General's office of the State of Florida and raise a complaint. Something needs to be done. This company has pushed around people and acted like its NO BIG DEAL for long enough and will continue to do so until they begin to really feel the heat of the law, or out of business. What they are doing is NOT LEGAL. RESEARCH PEOPLE. Until people start taking action against this phony "company", we will continue to get these "templated", generic responses, like the one above saying they are sorry and to call their "customer service", which does nothing about expediting your goods. TAKE HEED PEOPLE.

CONSUMER, BEWARE!! Obviously AVL reads all AVL complaint sites; and when the HORRIBLE TRUTH about them is told, suddenly there are "customer" comments that glorify them!
Keep in mind: LEOPARDS DO NOT CHANGE THEIR SPOTS!!!
