Cancellation rip off


Recently needed to cancel a flight that cost $164 R/T. With the combination of non-refundable "convenience" fees, seat selection fees, and the $50 each way cancellation fee, I would have had a whopping $20 left to apply to future travel. I used the only chat with Allegiance and the agent said it would be better for me to no-show than cancel which avoids cancellation fees. Funny, you try to be polite and give them a heads up that you're not coming, and they screw you $50 bucks each way, but if you simply No-Show, you get to keep that same money, because it didn't qualify as a cancellation. Very odd approach to customer services.

Bad business polices


Honestly Peoples complaints are unreal. Yes they charge you up the A** in the end but I still saved 200 bucks! I get a non stop flight that is 6-7 hours instead of 10!!! IT STATES ALL THEIR RULES BEFORE you buy!!! I swear no one reads the fine print. Clearly states ticket counter opens 2 hours before flight and will be closed 45 mins prior to flight. Gate will be closed 10 mins before flight takes off. Don't follow the rules then accept the penalities!!! 2nd time flying with them no problems here! They have these rules to keep fares low and so that they can get everyone out and not wait around for last minute people! No it's not southwest but not all airports have south west available and this fare with all the crazy fees are still 10 times cheaper than the worst rated airlines out there! People expect TOO much!

Dishonest Website


I absolutely agree with the post above. After purchasing tickets for a trip, and buying trip flex, I needed to cancel the flight and was stunned to discover that 1) Allegiant charges a $20 per ticket "fee" to actually use the trip flex - this is in addition to the actual cost of trip flex itself, which was $100 (For my family of four this amounted to an additional $80 of expense); and 2) The travel voucher I received for using trip flex must be used within 365 days of booking - not 365 days from the date the trip was cancelled. So in reality this is closer to a 6 or 9 month voucher. When I complained to a customer service rep (who I got hold of after 45 minutes of being on hold and being disconnected once), I was rudely treated and told to better read the fine print. By the time you're done paying for the a la carte items (baggage fees, seat reservation fees, convenience fees, etc.), you realize that this is not a discount airline, but a full-price airline with business practices designed to mislead the customer.

trip flex


I purchased trip flex for a flight from Las Vegas to Bellingham. When I made attempts at changing the dates, there were none available for at least 5 days. When I made attempts at calling a customer service agent, I noticed there were no numbers listed on their web site, only an email site and "online chat". Neither were working................I had to rebook on another airline. I went to the Bellingham airport to ask for assistance and all I got was an agent handing me a luggage tag with a phone # to call. For almost 2 weeks I tried that number several times/day only to get a recording telling me they were experiencing a high volume of calls and to call back at another time. Next time I would gladly pay more to fly an airline with customer service and no additional fees. What they post online is what you pay, but not with Allegiant. They even charge for in-flight water I'm hearing. And now $26 for a carry-on bag? What's next? Extra fees for walking on board and not being carried? They charge $20 to book online and they call it a "convenience fee"......................for whom? They would rather have to drive to the airport and spend 30 minutes taking up the valuable time of an agent to book for free. What a scam they are!!!
