Rebate scam

Submitted two rebates, called Alcoa six times, they keep telling me it's processing. One rebate is still processing from 2015. Definitely a scam. Some of the complaints I've read is even if you get your rebate card, it comes with a balance of $0.00.

Prepare to spend a lot of time to get your rebate

Alcon has made this process as difficult as possible. I electronically submitted all the correct information in September of 2016. In February of 2017 (after coming across the copy I did keep for myself) I went to the website to check the status. It was confirmed "invalid". I called customer service to find out that someone on their end had made a keying error. It was corrected and I waited for my $200 rebate. In April 2017 I finally received a Visa debit card...for $75. So back to customer service. I was told that they read the information wrong (one year supply was purchased but on the receipt is was broken into left and right eye, their system didn't recognize it). During this extended wait the tracking website has been taken down. The only way to get help is to call. I have now been told that I will receive the additional $125 in 3-4 weeks.
I plan to get my rebate.
My advice - keep copies, mark your calendar and follow up.
I do have several hours into this now.
Be prepared.

Aclon Dailies 1 Rebate Scam

Buy what you can afford. DO NOT COUNT ON GETTING PAID A REBATE!
The Aclon Dailies 1 Rebate is a Scam.

They obviously do not want to fulfill offered rebates. I will be complaining to my Dr. office, because they are the ones that promote the savings when they sell you the move expensive lenses.

The form from the doctor directs you to a website where you register, then you wait for an email, which directs you to a page that repeats the form from your doctor but now with a new code. It is a loop. Register, to register, to get a form, to get a postcard? give me break. When I call, they have no record of me. Okay, how did they send emails back to someone they have no record of? Now the time period is closed and I am out of luck. Total BS.

Frustrated

Wow! What a sales scam! I submit all of the required documentation for my wife's new contact lenses and I get an email rejecting my submission because "complete documentation not received." I once again gather up all of the required documents and attempt to resubmit and when I use my rebate claim number, I'm directed to a web site that states the server DNS could not be found. Given all of the registered complaints, is there anyone taking this company to task?

Don't fall for the rebate scam

I filed my rebate in November of 2016 and it is now May of 2017. I've called every week for the past 8 weeks and it's clear no one at the Rebate Center has any authority as they read off the same script every time I call. "Due to overwhelming demand it looks like your pre-paid Visa card is taking longer to process. It should be mailed out soon though".

Listen to every review on this site and don't fall for Alcon's run around scam. I hope we can enlighten enough people that they will be out of business within the next few years.

Received our Rebates

We followed the instructions, provided the additional information requested and received our 3 rebates ($125 each) via master cards. We were also provided a prompt response to our inquiries. This is our second set of rebates we received from Alcon. No concerns.

Alcon Rebate Scam continues

I experienced the same as many of the above reviews. The rebate was processing: when I checked online I discovered it was denied due to an invalid rebate code. The very same code that was printed ON the ALCON REBATE FORM!!! Seriously. I asked to speak to a Supervisor and was connected with JoLynn! She was absolutely NO HELP. Told me nothing could be done because the contacts were purchased on May 16th. We are now outside of the 60 redemption period. I then asked to speak to someone higher up the chain. She told me she was the Supervisor and there was no one else hire. That tells me all I need to know. These people are incompetent robots; most likely reading from a pre printed script of what to say in a given scenario. Total scam and BS. Shame on you Alcon!

Same Here

Im reading over and over the same thing that happened with my rebate...NOTHING! Sent in all my stuff and when I called they said the address of my purchase was not visible???? That wasnt even a requested document and WHY does it matter WHERE i bought them?? I had a receipt, so they were obviously purchased??!!!! Customer Service just said it's now past the date so its invalid...no apology, nothing! Absolutely ridiculous way to treat customers who are trying to get a little reimbursement for their loyalty.

Alcon rebate issue

I just experienced what many people on the site has. My rebate was denied based on incorrect information entered on the form. I had spoken with two customer service reps previously who had assured me my claim, at the time, was good to go and that I should be expecting my rebate within twenty days. I spoke with "the" manager Brooke B. who assured me that the incorrect information voided my claim but I cannot log back in to see that this information was incorrect. Also, as I mentioned before, two customer service reps has told me that my claim was ready to go on through. I asked to speak to her supervisor, she responded with she had no supervisor...ok...the company has been really unprofessional...really dismissive...and I am super curious if any one has talked to a lawyer about a class action suit? Please, post the information regarding that if you have. Brooke is supposed to do further investigations into my situation so dependent upon the outcome I may be speaking out further options myself.

Liars

BEWARE! My eye dr gave me the $200 rebate form and I sent it in THAT day. I received an email stating that my rebate was approved and would be going through the final audit and I will receive an email if more information is needed. It also said the rebate would take 6-8 weeks to receive a payment information email. Well after not receiving any emails or communication at 8 weeks, I went back to the website and saw that my rebate was INVALID with no explanation. Sent an email and got a response 7 days later that my documentation was not legible. It was legible to me and my husband so I sent another email arguing that their own email stated that they would contact me if more information was needed and now the 60 day requirement has passed. I said I would re submit but expected my rebate. Got a nasty letter stating that I agreed to the condition that the rebate had to be submitted within 60 days of the purchase date and they would allow a one time extension which expired a few days later. I immediately re-submitted the documentation again. Making sure it was perfectly legible by also sending it to other people that all reported it was legible and easy to read. Several days later received an email that said the same thing... rebate was approved and waiting final audit. Checked email and the website everyday and finally 2 weeks later the update on the website said my rebate was INVALID for no reason AGAIN. In the meantime my husband also got contacts and the rebate form... same scenario. INVALID. I again contact them and was told it was too late, my documentation was received past the 60 day requirement. Well, of course it was, they didn't tell me it was invalid until the 60 days had passed. After seeing this site, I'm filing a complaint with BBB and filing for damages in small claims court.

What a joke!

This has got to be the most unethical POS company I've ever tried to get a rebate from!

First several attempts wouldn't recognize a totally valid email account. Switched from Safari to to Chrome and made it past that step. Great, now I submit a code that's longer than a vehicle VIN number just to REGISTER for the rebate. Then you compile all the documents they want circling all the right stuff, and then upload them (that's step 2 of 6!). Problem is, after uploading all this and clicking NEXT it is perpetually stuck on "Checking to see if rebate valid" or some such nonsense.

I'm going to try mailing it in next if I can crack into their system and coax a mailing address out of them, because they can't just PUT IT WHERE YOU CAN EASILY SEE IT.

Even though I like the contact lenses, there's NO WAY I'll ever shell out another nickel to these jerks.

Total Scam

Wow, I wish I had researched this before taking the time to submit all of my documentation. I was not notified anywhere that an online submission must be made within 60 days of purchase. I missed that window by a couple of weeks. I checked my status online and it was denied...called customer service and got absolutely nowhere. I don't see how they can hold customers to terms and conditions that aren't published? I have been a faithful Alcon wearer and loyal customer for years. What a joke, they just lost a customer and I will let my optometrist know how awful their service was.

Alcon Rebate a Big Scam

Rebates are mostly hit or miss in my opinion. I just realize how many complain about their rebates here and online. I can definitely agree on the Alcon rebate is a total scam. They use any possible reason to avoid paying you the rebate. And there were no communications from them at all except for the initial email saying the rebate was received.

In my case, I waited about 7 weeks because that is the time frame would take to process the claim indicating on the email (6 – 8 weeks). I searched my inbox and junk folder, and I found only one email from Alcon. I proceed to check the status of my rebate online and only found my rebate has been declined “for not meeting the requirements of the program”. I then called them up to find out how I could not have met the requirement since I have uploaded all three pieces of required documentation. It turns out “THEY CLAIMED” the incorrect product name was selected on my online application. And they would do the courtesy to have me resubmit the entire rebate; starting a new rebate basically. However, since it has been more than 60-day past the purchase date, the rebate is no longer valid. I spoke to two different reps and got nowhere. They were determined not to fulfill my rebate based on their policy.

My points were simple.
1. I have submitted photos of the receipts of the product and eye exam, plus the photo of the UPC. They know exactly the product model, quantity, and date of the purchase. If in fact only the product name was selected incorrectly, why a new rebate process needs to be started.
2. I did not do a screen capture of my online rebate submission, and they won’t provide me a copy of my online submission. Even I disagree with their claim of incorrect product name used on application, I can’t prove anything.
3. The first rep told me an email was sent to me about 4 weeks after my submission regarding to the rebate denial. However, I searched my inbox and trash and never found another email from Alcon. The second rep supposed to be the supervisor who told me they are under no obligation to send email notification on the rebate denial.

There are plenty of good choices out there when comes to contact lens. I will stay away from Alcon, and I will let as many friends and colleagues know how Alcon cheats on their customers.

My suggestion to anyone who still plans to file the rebate, do a screen capture on every step of the online submission. So you have a complete copy of the rebate form.

ALCON CHOICE REBATE - NO INTEGRITY AND NO CREDIBILITY!!!

I have over $200 rebate that I supposed to receive from Alcon for the 1 year supply for Dailies AquaComfort Plus for my daughter and 1 year supply for Dailies Total 1 for myself. I submitted my rebate online and all the documents they require, received the rebate reference number and an email confirming that they received my rebate claims. Waited and waited for it took them forever to process it, but it was denied. I mailed them again the rebates information but I was told and waited but I was denied the second time. When I called them, I was told that I got denied because the mail rebate claim was after 60 days period. But when I complain that I submitted it online I was told that I had a typo and miss one number when I entered the rebate codes for both of my claim. How convenient it is for them to say that I was denied because both claim I made a typo and miss one number for both? It takes them forever to process the claim and then they will deny you at the end and when you resubmit it's already too late. This company has no integrity and no credibility! I will make sure to tell my eye doctors about this!!!! You make cheating your clients your priority!

Total Scam

I wish I saw the reviews before buying. This is a bogus rebate. I am telling my eye dr not to mention this "rebate" to patients and I am asking about returning the contacts. This company gives no follow up until it is too late. What a scam.

ALsoCONned

Also had the same experience as others but now called the 800 number they provided and it just disconnects. I'm wondering I should be putting a product in my eye from a company that cares so little about treating people ethically.

What a Scam

What a joke. I received an email months after submitting my claim. I thought, great the reviews I read months ago were wrong. However, I go to the site just 4 days after receiving the email with my "Digital Token" number, only to find it is expired. This borders on criminal activity in my opinion. I will not buy these contacts again.

CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!!

I found this site after I checked my rebate status and found my code was no longer valid

I did some searching through old emails to see when I submitted my rebate, June 8.

On Sept 8th I received an email Congratulations! You contact less rebate claim has been approved an you are eligible to receive a USD $100.00 Visa Card I overlooked this email as i didn't notice this was the actual rebate!

Upon opening the email it give you two options, have a virtual card or have a physical card mailed to you in 5 to 7 business days. I chose the physical card,

Today is 11.21.18, with the Thanksgiving holiday I estimate my card to be here sometime during the week of 12.4.18

I will update everyone if i get it!

CHECK YOUR EMAIL!!!!

Terrible Deal! Rebate has unrealistic terms!

This company is a huge disappointment. They push, via the eye doctor, a rebate, but make it incredibly difficult to ever receive it. Do not buy contacts based upon a rebate--they will do everything within their power to make sure you don't get it. Will not buy again from an eye doctor, as prices through online retailers are lower and have less of a hassle dealing with rebates that will never come. Huge bummer.

Alcon Rebate Scam

My experience was similar to others. I was promised a $100 rebate back in August. I sent in the proper photocopies. They emailed me saying it was denied. No clear reason was given. I called them and they said the rebate code I wrote on the paperwork was not correct. I told them to check again. Surely enough, they said it was correct after all and their employee must have made a "typo". They told me that my case would be reviewed. I called back a week later and they said it was still under investigation. I heard nothing back. I then emailed them and heard nothing back. Here it is late November and I have not received the rebate and Alcon did not even bother to contact me. This rebate deal is indeed a scam. I filed a report with the BBB.

Hardest Rebate to Complete Ever

I see they haven't changed anything since 2013. You would think they would simplify their rebate policy with all the complaints being the same. No improvement in 4 years is bad business! I don't plan on buying their contacts again!!!

It’s fraud !

I meticulously did all steps to get rebate and got nothing. How can Alcon do this ?

Another fool who trusted Alcon

Consider me yet another fool who believed my eye doctor and the promotional materials. Heck, I even called directly to Alcon before placing my contact lens order to make sure I was doing it right and would be eligible for the rebate. I was assured that I was. I completed all the steps online and according to the confirmations I got, I qualified and completed all steps correctly. However, after months of hearing nothing, I searched to see what was going on. The website just said the claim for the rebate was denied. That's it. No reasoning. Nothing to help understand or correct. They never emailed me anything. They never communicated about any issues or how to correct them. All I know is this is why consumers don't trust rebate programs - because they are just like insurance companies frauding you into giving them as much money as possible, all the while intending to figure out any way possible NOT to pay as they are supposed to do.
