Aeroplan sucks!
Aeroplan has become the main reason I now avoid Air Canada like the plague! My loyalty has switched to ANY other airline. I hope the blokes at Air Canada realize how effectively they are shooting themselves in the foot.

Aeroplan sucks!
I AGREE WITH YOU ALL - AEROPLAN SUCKS. THEY CHANGED THEIR POLICY AND I WAS NOT NOTIFIED AT THE BEGINNING OF THE YEAR. I ACCUMULATED OVER 40, 000 POINTS THIS YEAR AND THEY SAID I DON'T QUALIFY BECAUSE I DIDN'T MEET AIRLINE REQUIREMENTS WHICH WAS BULLOX BECAUSE I WAS NEVER NOTIFIED.
CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS ALSO EXTREMELY RUDE. THEY SAY - THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO TO HELP YOU. RIDICULOUS
AEROPLAN SUCKS. IF YOU ARE THE MANAGER OF AEROPLAN/AIR CANADA, I'D SUGGEST YOU TO RETHINK THE WAYS YOU DEAL WITH CUSTOMERS AND WHY ASIAN AIRLINES ARE OUTPERFORMING YOU GUYS. THERE IS A REASON.

Aeroplan sucks!
2 IDENTICAL REWARD BOOKINGS on the EXACT SAME FLIGHTS on the EXACT SAME DATES (Calgary-Copenhagen-Calgary). I completed the booking using United Mileage Plus wherein the total fees for a 60, 000 mile award was $203.30. By comparison, the booking using an Aeroplan 60, 000 mile award (for exact same flights, exact same date, exact class of service would be $650.56. And the funny part, the United award is for seats on the Air Canada flights!!!
When I contacted Aeroplan for an explanation of the $447 fee difference, Supervisor Mindy from Montreal called with no explanation, just excuses and treated me like crap. Customer Service at Aeroplan???? Not in this lifetime.

Aeroplan
I intentionally used my cibc visa for my business to collect airmiles with aeroplan. I had over 1 million, 500 air miles. I am now down to just over 700,000. I was notified last year of a 7 year redemtion policy, in which I have to use over 400,000 before the end of next year. I travel at least 4/5 times a year to Cuba for business as well as Europe. Now I tried to book Cuba and you cannot use aeroplan for Cuba anymore. The only Country that they have deleted from the list and it's the country I travel to most frequently. They said I can book through Air Canada Vacations, which I called today for a flight. Now I would have to use 85,000 points which would give me a ticket valued at $700.00. I used to use 40,000 points with no restrictions to travel travel to Cuba. Now it is not worth using my miles... to fly there. So how do I use over 400,000 points in the next year if they have taken Cuba off the destinations? They are just a big rip off and I will never use them again, or use cibc visa for aerplan.
