warranty noncompliance

Dear Mr. Sadler, when you brought your truck to us on November 30th we happily took a look at your vehicle to see if the seals we put on back in June were leaking. In order to find a leak there is a certain procedure you follow - you clean off the area where the leak may be coming from, and try to reproduce the leak. First and foremost, when we received your vehicle, we found that this had not been done - Christian Brother's had not cleaned off the seals nor the gear box to verify where the source of the leak was. After we cleaned off the seals and the gear box, we followed proper leak testing procedure. What we found was that the gear box itself has an internal leak, and yes, probably a crack in the case as well. Why we couldn't show you where the leak was coming from was because we cannot see it while the vehicle is still all put together- it's not visible without taking off parts, which would have required a disassembly charge for our time taken. We took photographs of the cleaned and tested seals, and of the leaking gearbox itself. When you picked up your vehicle, we wanted to show you both the pictures and on the truck itself that the leak was not coming from the seals we did back in June - you refused to do both. We proudly stand by our work, and if the seals were leaking on your truck we would have gladly resealed them under warranty. However, this is not the case.

I consider your response to be misleading and not honest. The fact is that I brought the truck to you only after highly reputable mechanics had confirmed that the problem was an upper seal leak. They, too, have photos. After the way I have been treated at your establishment the past several times--very poorly (should I elaborate?), I had no desire to be subjected to further personal abuse, so I decided that I would not wait around for you to "show" me what I knew was not really the problem any way. I am VERY unhappy with the way I have been treated by you all in general, and this is not the first time you all have used questionable means to avoid admitting errors. It has cost me over eight hundred dollars to have your failure repaired--this time--and several hundred dollars more to have the last (brake issue) fixed. I stand by everything I have written, and will produce written and notarized documents to back up everything--with photos--if you ask.
